Avoid This Company - Poor Quality, Property Damage, and Unprofessional Ownership…read more I hired this company in September 2024 to replace my walkway and garage apron. In less than a year, after the first winter the concrete started crumbling and falling apart 6 months after the job was done. After the second winter, more crumbling. To make matters worse, their crew damaged my front step chipping off a piece of it during the installation and never repaired it. Getting in touch with them has been an absolute nightmare. I reached out on April 24th with no response, followed up on April 27th, and have been given the runaround for nearly three months. Today (July 15th), I finally received a call from who I presume was the owner, Tim. Instead of standing behind his company's work, he offered to "split the cost" with me to replace the defective concrete. Expecting a customer to pay a second time to fix a job that failed in under a year is completely unacceptable and highly unprofessional. Meanwhile two of my neighbors replaced their aprons a few years back and it still looks flawless today, not a single chip, crack or crumble. This is a dishonest way to run a business. Because of their subpar work, property damage, and refusal to make things right, I will be filing a formal complaint with the BBB and pursuing legal action. Save yourself the headache and money, do not use this company.

I have a few words about Matt and Masonry Plus of MN!…read more Nutshell here... If you want your project in friendly(read: calm under stress), capable, hard working hands, call Matt. He gets pretty booked up but honestly don't let that dissuade you from working with this crew. I have managed the rebuilding of a house this summer, after a nasty fire burnt it out. I have worked with all the trades and contractors throughout the project and Matt is just different. He delivers! 1.( He's friendly. He doesn't make you feel like a dumbass (even when you don't understand the process). 2.( Masonry Plus is competitive with price... between 5 various block work, flatwork, and veneer stone contractors I've been in contact with. He's been super reasonable on all the bids he's given, and flexible in the bidding process despite my "hmm, what would it cost if we..?" Masonry Plus response times, and (bid)accuracy, were FAR better than the other subcontractors who (at least promised) bids on different parts of the job. Good grief. 3.( With Masonry Plus I've honestly felt VALUED and RESPECTED, understood, and put first as a customer. I really appreciate a company willing to go the extra mile! For example, would you believe this... Matt even stopped out on a Sunday for me once, because I asked for special help on a couple things to be sure I'd pass an inspection the next day? That rocks. I mean seriously, no one does those type of things. And some competition: 2 flatwork and block guys didn't even show up at our appointments, to walkthrough the job for bidding! (and around $10k of work so... worth the appointments) Matt showed up right on time, and had a bid sent over a couple days after seeing the site. 4.( Matt has a wealth of knowledge and hasn't shyed away from any concrete-related work or the myriad of questions I seem to have lol. He has done for me: tear out and rebuild foundation block wall, cut into/repour basement slab for plumbing, pour fresh garage slab, cut in egress windows, pour (tons of) deck post footings, and doing veneer stone work. I almost didn't write this review. Why? Because I know Masonry Plus is popular and Matt stays super busy, but I am terrible at secrets and now you know. I think it's important you also know Masonry Plus and Matt have no idea I'm writing this, but that crew deserves it for the blessing they've been to (an enormous challenge of) a project. Cheers.

Fine work on steps but HORRIBLE customer service. We even mailed him the papers with a self addressed envelope and proper postage and have not received that back. Not once did he ever seem to care about us as costumers.
