He said "you'll be fine". Day of surgery after waiting and waiting someone from Aventura Hospital cancelled surgery after already being on the surgical table and had been drugged twice. I got up off the surgical table in the OR and drove myself to memorial hospital in renal failure. I will never understand how he can practice medicine like that. I acquired an acute kidney injury which has left me with compromised renal function and I had to have specialized surgery to remove damaged part of ureter because of damage the stone made on the ureter. I was forced to have my ureter resected and reconstructed because of the trauma from the stone and the length of time it was allowed to stay stuck . I would not recomendad Aventura hospital since the OR cancelled surgery abruptly because the ceiling was collapsing while I was on the surgical table. Just So you understand, the hospital called me the day before the surgery to cancel it because they lost the lazer to be used for surgery. Only to be called back 30 min later saying they had found the lazer and the surgery was back on. I know it sounds crazy but this happened to me a year ago and I never wrote a bad review nor sued the Dr. nor the Hospital but now I receive a bill in collections from Dr Levin for like $88. So you get the scathing review above. Dr. Levin, Sir, You suck! And so does Aventura hospital.

I fretted so much before meeting him given the nature of my issue but he immediately put me at ease and ultimately fixed the problem with minimal "invasion." Had it required more, I'd have been very comfortable after my initial experience. Also, Christina and Jenny in the office seem to share the same friendly approach and have the ability to put you at ease immediately. For me, this type of medical need is just so personal I can't thank all of them enough. We had been waiting 3 days for this Dr to come, so every time I left the room I told my husband to call me if the doctor came since my husband is 75 yo and has difficulty recalling details. When Dr Robbins arrived that day I had just left the room but was still downstairs when my husband called. He put me on speaker but Dr Robbins told my husband he had no interest in speaking with me on the phone nor would he wait for me to come back up to the room. I was literally back in the room within a minute but Dr Robbins was gone. The nurse even had him paged (we heard it) but Dr Robbins never responded. I have worked in healthcare for 44 years and have never come across such a disrespectful and unprofessional physician! On top of that all Dr Robbins did was to tell my husband to see his Uro upon dx from the hospital. Every physician takes an oath to "first do no harm", but with the disregard in which Dr Robbins treated my husband he certainly does not live up to that creed.

I had the opportunity to meet other kidney specialists in the same clinic and I can say that I was not totally satisfied. The clinic recommended me the next one which is the above listed I am presently consulting at least twice a year for kidney issues. 1. Dr. Eftekhari always prescribed me the right medication after the ones which did not work. 2. Dr. Eftekhari always come back to my questions listed in the clinic portal. 3. It was thanks to him that we found out that the score level of my folic acid was abnormal and he prescribed me a supplement when I said to him that I felt tired and sleepy. My primary physician blamed the Covid and others. 4. My CKD level issue improved since I started consulted with Dr. Eftekhari. 5. Last but not least, Dr. Eftekhari also carefully listened to me when we both compared my lab tests. I should say that I also try to do my share and act as a good student to follow his excellent/sincere medical advices/suggestions. Yes we should both work together as a team. This is very disappointing and, in my opinion, reflects a lack of concern for patient care. What I find especially concerning is that this practice specializes in urogynecology, yet when the prescribed treatment failed, there was no effort to evaluate my condition further or discuss alternative options. My other healthcare providers routinely follow up after prescribing medication to ensure that the treatment is working and to address any ongoing issues. Additionally, the office changed my specialist without notifying me in advance, which was both confusing and frustrating. As a patient, I expect communication, follow-up, and continuity of care. Unfortunately, my experience here did not meet those expectations.

When my mother mentioned no other specialist had ever asked for this, the staff member snapped, "How do you expect the doctor to know what's wrong?" We showed up for that appointment only to find she wasn't in the system at all. Staff repeatedly told us, "He is not here. He is on vacation. He will be back in 3 weeks." Because they kept saying "he," and her primary care doctor specifically referred her to Dr. Christian Gonzalez, we were led to believe she would be seeing him today. Today, June 30, my mother went inside first while I parked. When I walked in, I asked the receptionist on the right to join my mother. This receptionist was polite, asked my mother's name, and asked the staff behind her what room my mom was in. No one replied. She told me to sit and wait. Absolutely no one made any effort to follow up, knock on a door, or try to take me to my mother. I only got in because my mother eventually opened the waiting room door herself to look for me so I could speak to the doctor. When I asked why I was left waiting, staff made an excuse about doors being locked and not being allowed to ask. Once inside, I realized the doctor was female. I asked my mother if she spoke Spanish, and my mother said no. This office failed us in three major ways today: They switched my mother from her referred doctor (Dr. Gonzalez) to a non-Spanish speaking female doctor with zero advance notice. The staff member tasked with interpreting for my mother was in a terrible mood and gave her an attitude. The front desk made no effort whatsoever to bring me to my mother when I arrived. When I asked to speak to the office manager, they acted like they didn't hear me. A rude receptionist sitting on the left side of the desk abruptly asked if we needed to make an appointment and motioned for us to step right in front of her, clearly just wanting us out of the front desk area. My mom pointed to the girl who was writing something out for us. The rude receptionist asked that girl if she was helping us, and the girl confirmed she was writing up a test that needed to be done. That left-side receptionist was beyond rude. I asked again if there was an office manager or supervisor available, and was told "no" by the girl who was doing the writing. I insisted there has to be a medical supervisor or someone in charge, and again, she said no. I asked about a woman I saw dressed in office wear, but that lady stated she was the medical researcher. By the time we went to the front to get the next appointment date, the rude receptionist had suddenly changed her tune. Once outside the doctor's office, my mom reiterated how poorly they behaved and how she wished I had been there to talk to the doctor. That is when she told me about the attitude of the staff member who was writing the prescription and translating. My mother had to tell her, "If you're in a bad mood, I'll just wait for my daughter to come here to translate," which finally got her to drop the attitude. On their website, they claim "SWCA is built on a culture of empathy," and list their Core Values as: Be a good human Be professional Do the right thing Work together No excuses, get it done It looks like their staff needs to have this plastered on the walls throughout their office, because they did none of this. I have already filed a formal grievance with our insurance company.
