Terminal 1 is very already out. It's long. If you have to connect from terminal 1 to 2, and likewise from 2 to 1 give yourself lots of time. It's also pretty dated, and very "cold" looking. One doesn't get a warm and fuzzy feel from the place. Also where the underground shopping and the subway/rental car stuff is, is poorly laid out. There are also homeless walking around and searching the trash. Frankfurt is a mess, but I think this place is worse. Germany could do so much better. Terminal 2 is somewhat better, but you have to make the big walk to get there. Also there is a serious lack of charging / wall sockets. Also they are skimpy on seats in the terminal, when you get past to the gate it gets better for seating, but still no charging options. Make sure to bring a battery backup.

    Christmas market at the airport

5 star for this airport for the fact that they have everything open and avaliable on the hardest day to find any store or food place open - Christmas day and after Christmas day (25th & 26th) ! It might sounded like a silly reason to give 5 stars rating, but when you are from a different country and staying in airbnb with no grocery open around you and found out McDonald's are pretty much your only options. Unlike many other countries, they literally have everything closed on those 2 days. You will find yourselves in heaven when you see a fully functioning grocery stores and a fairly large Christmas market with ice skating rink. (Especially after 1 full day of wondering in heart of town on the street with nothing open and on your vacation time, and had literal two meals of McDonald's in the same day, never again) At first I thought I am going to pay premium prices for this setting, and yet prices and if not better than what's out in the town are asking for. Even the grocery store is charging normal prices (for the fact it is in the airport). They have really good food too, had crepes, mulled wine, bought wood crafted gift, some unique chocolate made screws and hammer ( interesting right?) Just spent a day shopping in the airport after. Never knew I would be happy spending a day in airport after Christmas.

Lousy men's bathroom (one closed, one 3 floors down with only 3 stalls which are disgusting from overuse)

I much prefer terminal 2. Still all necessities are here...if you are willing to look, and maybe risk a little exploring

At the customs check in area it was a bit confusing and not super efficient. There were two lines one with pre-registered passports on the right and non-registered. They had registration kiosks available for people to do it "quicker" however the non-registered passport line ended up moving a lot quicker! I think this was due to the higher number of employees working on the other side compared to the pre-registration one (like 5 vs 2 or 3). It was kind of a waste of time to pre-register especially when their line was moving slower. I eventually switched to the non registered line and it moved wayyyy quicker. There are lots of bathrooms and seats available to sit at each gate. The airport also has plenty of good options that appeal to a wide audience... like their soft pretzels! ---- Overall: except for the inefficient line mishap, this airport was spick and span, no other complaints

Directional signs are very good. When I have a connection here, I head directly to my departure gate area before thinking of stopping for anything (except for a restroom). Do not stay here. It is a complete waste of money, and a really depressing experience. You're…read moreprobably comparing it to the Hilton at the airport, which looks more expensive but is actually a much better deal. This will cost €15 for a 10 minute cab (there is no hotel shuttle ) and you will be stuck in the middle of nowhere, only to discover that there is no room service and there is no restaurant except for the €40 buffet they offer for dinner. You're better off eating at the airport. My very grumpy cab driver was upset that I wanted to pay with a credit card, so I was dumb enough to give him a tip to make up for the inconvenience, making that an €18 waste. The only nice thing about this hotel was the young woman at the check-in counter, who told me that the price of the buffet is really ridiculous and she apologized for it. She suggested I download a local app called Lieferando, which is similar to Uber eats, and get some food delivered. I decided to skip dinner instead Then you get to your room, down a dark corridor, with no ceiling and a bunch of exposed ductwork and pipes and other things because the whole thing is under construction. How ironic that I could see all that ductwork, because the air conditioning doesn't work and the room is a little hotbox. I couldn't figure out why the air conditioning was set to such a ridiculously low temperature, 50°F until I realized that the last person here must've sweat through the experience as well. You think it would be easy enough to just open the window and solve the problem, except that the window has a sticker on it that says do not open, and it doesn't open anyway. I hope the construction project next-door is not supposed to be another one of these hotels, but that's what it looks like. And that's about all I can see, a giant construction project right outside my window, from the first floor, also overlooking the parking lot. To call this entire experience a disappointment would be an understatement . I'm trying to put it out of my mind and pretend it never happened, because it's an awful ending of an otherwise great trip. My layover between planes was from 18:30 on Monday until 14:30 on Tuesday. I thought I should stay close to the airport, but in hindsight, I either should have stayed right at the airport, at the Hilton, or stayed in Munich and taken the train to get there. All the other options would have been more pleasant and less expensive. I will never stay in this hotel, or this chain again. Spare yourself the unpleasant experience. For €191, I expected more.

The bus stop is right outside the hotel so this was an excellent choice on our recent overnight layover in Munich. The hotel has a decent sized parking lot for people who are driving to the location. The lobby is well decorated and they have a restaurant in the lobby. We were checked in promptly on arrival and were given a room on the 2nd floor. The elevators are a bit small but we didn't have any luggage so that didn't really affect us. The rooms were very clean and the cozy. Even though we were right next to the airport but we were able to sleep comfortably through the night without hearing jets taking off and landing which usually is an issue for airport hotels. 4 star decent hotel with excellent pricing if you book through Expedia which I did.
