This review is two years old but never too late! First let me start by thanking Sean and Ritchie. Sean spent countless email messages with me ironing out the details. I added additional people and it was no problem. I'm a planner and can be pretty intense with insuring things go as planned without hiccups and of course I had a thousand questions and still, Sean's kindness never wavered. I met Ritchie the day of and he was so welcoming, the way we hugged and chatted you'd think we've met before. My kinda people. Ever sense I've been singing their praises. I've sent many people their way. The entire staff that day was great. The bartenders (see the video for the effects). They did not play with those drinks! The food? Muah! Chef's kiss. EVERYONE enjoyed their food. My party end up being about 10 people and we all almost all ordered different things. My steak and chimichurri sauce, eggs and potatoes was to die for. I still daydream about how the temperature of my steak was so perfect. I let folks try my steak, it was so good some ordered their own-aside from their other order lol I'm over due a visit. So here's my update on this absolute dumpster fire of an establishment from Friday, March 20. I came in, ordered ONE margarita, and within about five minutes, the bartender was physically fighting with a drunk patron and trying to choke them out while the security guard stood there being completely useless. Truly incredible to watch a place be that understaffed, unprofessional, and unsafe all at once. But wait, it gets worse. After I already left a review about being caught in the middle of their little bar brawl, these geniuses charged my card AGAIN for $52.92 after I had already left. For what exactly? The drinks from the drunk people THEY were over-serving before the fight broke out? Because it definitely wasn't mine. Let me be very clear: I walked in. I ordered ONE drink. A margarita. That's it. So somehow I got front row seats to a bartender throwing hands, security doing absolutely nothing, and then got charged like I sponsored the chaos. This place is a joke. Unsafe, sloppy, and apparently so incompetent they can't even charge the right customer after turning the bar into a live-action WWE event. If you enjoy being overcharged, caught in the middle of violence, and watching staff behave worse than the intoxicated customers, this might be your spot. Easy 1 star. Honestly, zero if I could. 3.24.26 I now have to dispute a charge that never should have been on my card in the first place. This place somehow managed to turn an already awful experience into an even bigger mess by fraudulently charging me $52.92 after everything that happened. I am beyond irritated. My girlfriends and I went to their R & B Brunch a couple weeks ago to celebrate a 50th Birthday. The experience was disappointing. First we had to pay $30 to get in ( I'm guessing this was to cover the DJ music)? The music was SO LOUD you could feel the base in your entire body & we had to scream at each other to talk. We check in at front & proceed to sit down. It's a big, open high ceiling venue ( NOT a restaurant). There were round tables on either side of the floor with table cloths. It felt low budget and very thrown together. * Friend asked DJ to turn music down a bit to allow conversation but... nope. Only One waitress who was overwhelmed. $30 entry fee did NOT include any food or drinks. There was a "mandatory " purchase of their Buffet ( which was up front in silver trays guarded by staff. This was an extra $35 plus the "mandatory " 20% Tip ( all noted on the menu on the table). We were not told about the requirement to pay for buffet & get a band to show you paid. ** Menu was limited. Some items sounded good. Not many vegetarian options ( our Birthday Girl is vegetarian). We decided to leave and go somewhere where we could have an actual conversation &' be heard & have a menu where we could make our own choices. I would NOT RECOMMEND this place. read more

Stopped here briefly about two Thursdays ago. The main reason why I came in here was because I was hungry and they told me there was still food. However, there wasn't, but I'm still giving this five stars because of the great service and the superior French 75 that the bartender prepared for me. The place has an eclectic vibe. Really sad to have to update my review but this 1 star goes to the two bartenders in the back by the stage. I came here on Sunday after Pride with a group of friends. After paying a $10 cover charge, we went to the bar to grab drinks. My friend initially ordered 4 vodka sodas and a white claw which came out to $50+. Upon getting his credit card receipt he asked to buy an additional vodka soda for a friend who just pulled up. He was charge $23+ for ONE drink. When asked for the price change the bartender said "it's a double" & he responded "I didn't ask for a double." The bartender shrugged and said "it is what it is." Absolutely insane! The worst part was that it tasted exactly like a single. As it was my turn to buy drinks I went over to the bartender next to her instead. I ordered a whisky coke, vodka soda, & a white claw. I KNEW TO ASK FOR PRICE FIRST. The bartender calculated in her head & said $29. I handed her my card & tell me why I got a receipt for $43!!! We went to Fluid 510 for the Hella510: Oakland Stand Up Comedy Nights! It's held upstairs and was lots of laughs. There were 5 comedians who came up and did their sets. Big T was the host. There's a 2 drink minimum, I had a margarita, my friend had guava margaritas. They also serve food, but we didn't try anything from that menu. They host comedy at this spot every Thursday - Sunday. I would return, it was fun and the location of the venue is right in the heart of downtown Oakland on Broadway close to BART, bus stops and all the downtown shops and spots! I have been here twice for comedy shows in the back upstairs. We walk through the bar and they always have events going on. The drinks are good. However the events that are upstairs in their attic are very uncomfortable, and when you sit there for over 2 hours everything hurts. Drinks take 30 minutes to get to you. I would go back for other events, but not they are up there. read more

Nice venue! Came here for a birthday function. Space is nice and open with a bar and booth/ table seating area in the front half, with a stage / dance floor in the back end. The vibe of the establishment stuck to that "downtown" style, which I liked. Didn't get to see it but there's also a comedy club up in the 2nd floor too which sounds cool. Got to try most of their speciality drinks, as we had an open bar package for our event. Most of the drinks were strong, but they had a good variety of specialties. Food was good, standard bar food, but pricey ($30 for a medium pizza and order of fries + tip). Overall- 8/10. Staff were super nice and friendly. Oakland is such a hub of diversity that it breaks pieces of my heart when neighborhood gay bars like Port Bar and Feelmore Social close. Even though it's louder than the venues we most prefer, Jamie W and I settled into this cavernous space on a late Sunday afternoon. Clearly the space is meant for more than drinking. We envisioned a lot of dancing and performing but not by us. We sat at a big banquette where we apparently just missed the last of the food orders. Came here on a Sunday evening for a comedy night which is located upstairs. This is a pretty big bar, club, and venue space. The comedy club is upstairs and usually comes with a 2 item minimum, which includes food. I got an espresso martini and my friend got a margarita. We ordered the pizza belly pizza that had pork and jalapeños. We also got their chicken wings (Parmesan and herb) with a side of fries and it was really good. Service was great, they have a huge dance floor on the main floor and large bar area downstairs. There are plenty of bathrooms. normally would not write something like this, but what happened tonight was serious and extremely concerning. I arrived at the bar around 10:15 PM because my house was too hot. There were only nine people in the bar, including me. Four of them were a group sitting near me. Two of the women in that group were barefoot, and they were clearly intoxicated. They were asking the bartender for more shots, and I heard him tell them, "I feel like you don't need any more shots." At that point, I had just ordered my drink, a margarita with Tajín, and was still waiting for it.i commend him for this. By the time my drink was placed in front of me, the bartender was on the other side of the bar physically fighting one of the patrons from that group. One of the women, who had been barefoot and appeared intoxicated, was acting as the aggressor. She was hitting another woman. A man stepped in to protect his girlfriend, and instead of de-escalating the situation, the bartender physically engaged and appeared to be choking the male patron. It was shocking to witness. What was even more concerning was that the security guard was essentially useless. He came out and stood by watching the bartender get involved physically while the situation escalated. The aggressor was allowed to continue moving around the bar, even going back to use the restroom, while the man who was defending his girlfriend was being physically restrained. There was no effective attempt to manage or control the situation appropriately. On top of all of this, there was confusion about my card. At one point it could not be found, and then I was told I might be charged for multiple drinks associated with the group that was fighting, even though I had just arrived and only ordered one drink. This entire situation was handled inappropriately and unprofessionally. I have never experienced anything like this before. The security guard was confrontational toward me, he should be fired. A waste of money despite the fact that I had nothing to do with the altercation, while doing nothing meaningful to address the actual fight. This was unacceptable. The handling of the fight, the physical aggression by the bartender, and the lack of effective security response were all deeply concerning. Get it together read more

I went for brunch one Sunday and didn't realized it was a R & B Brunch event. It was too late for us to make other plans as we have friends meeting us there. Not only was they a cover fee, there was a per person cost for the brunch buffet. The food was not appetizing and I would've much had a better meal at Denny's. Can't say much about the service because we still had to get up and go get our own food at the buffet and being served very minimal. Not to mention a 20% gratuity was included for I really don't know what. I'm glad I got to experience it, but I highly doubt we would go back. read more

I like this venue that sits right on Broadway. The space is spacious; there's a private room upstairs. I love that this venue has a menu for food and their parmesan truffle fries are delicious. I've also tried their arancini which is filling. I appreciate a venue that has lots of seating available and their staff is friendly and helpful. read more

I came here for the Femme Fest event on Saturday 09/28 and we decided to finish off the night here for dinner before leaving. We had just missed happy hour unfortunately, but decided to go for a pizza and cocktail. We got the Mediterranean pizza which was very yummy for me; however, we chose specifically since it did not list tomato sauce, and my friend has dietary restrictions so she cannot eat that, but it ended up having tomato sauce so she was unable to have any. In hindsight we probably should have mentioned/asked about it but it also would've been nice if they had listed that. I got the berry pink cocktail which was really good and had nice fruity flavors. Came here for their Sunday Drag Bunch. The show was phenomenal and the vibe was vibing. However, our food order was lost and instead of owning their mistake, both the manager and waitress decided to gaslight me and try to tell me that my order had only been placed 30 minutes prior. I came for a 12pm reservation, my group placed our order shortly after arriving, but we received our food 2 hours later. A better response, or even an apology from staff and management would have been appropriate, I hope they do better next time. I will note that they eventually offered a 10% discount after they missed one of the ppl in groups order and she had to wait an additional 10mins after everyone else finally got their food. read more

My neighbors told me this place is new and recently opened. Came here after bar hopping during Pride weekend and it was our last stop for the day. Love the modern cool vibe. Feels plushy NYC, and the high ceiling made it very impressive. There's also a bigger space behind the bar. We came here after the kitchen had closed so we will have to return for dinner and dancing. Definitely a cool place to hangout with friends and family and enjoy a very chill vibe. My Long Island was just excellent. Service was impeccable. Outstanding. We will return. Unfortunately, this was a bust! We went expecting brunch but ended up at (un)happy hour. My daughter and I found them on IG. The brunch they advertised looked spectacular. We were disappointed that brunch ended at 3:00. We were there at 4:00. Thinking the happy hour menu would be just as great, we decided to stay and order. The place was empty aside from the couple at the bar. I should of left then. I don't know who our server was. He never introduced himself. He asked if we wanted a drink to start. I asked for water. He returned with two glasses 3/4 full. It 88° outside. Ice in the glass would of been wonderful but...We asked what the restaurant was known for as far as food. "A little bit of everything. We're a bar, lounge and we serve brunch". I was ready to leave at that point but my daughter was hangry so we stayed. 2 pepperoni pizzas, mac n cheese, 3 shrimp sliders and an espresso martini was the order. All things were small bites. The sliders were the only things "shareable" because there were 3 in the order. My favorite food is pizza. I could eat it every day and twice on Sunday. It was very disappointing. Unfortunately, this pizza was not one that I would come back for. It tasted like pizza I use to eat in the school cafeteria in my elementary school. I definitely did not finish it. None of the food was finished. The best thing, according to my daughter, was the martini. The mac n cheese had to be returned because it was loaded with bread crumbs. That's an absolute no-no for my daughter. The new one that came out looked more appealing and had great cheese pull. Bacon chunks were throughout and so she through it out. Because the menu did not describe what it was made with she was under the impression it would just be that, mac and cheese. Our waiter did not return to our table other than to deliver our water. The revised mac n cheese was brought to us by kitchen staff and our final bill was brought by the bartender. All in all I think our $75 could of been spent better elsewhere. read more

Value: 10/10 - found the pricing to be extremely reasonable and Sean was flexible in many ways to accommodate as well. The space is gorgeous and it comes with all the necessary AV, etc + having it come staffed saved major headaches. Service: 10/10 - everyone I encountered was an absolute gem, both prior to and night of - it felt like staff were really going out of their ways to make sure folks had a great time. This was such a surprise & delight meeting such nice people. Communication: 10/10 - Sean and his team were on text and planning call leading up in lead up. Aesthetic/Space: 10/10 Absolutely perfect for the dance party ambiance we were looking for. It's just downright cool and has an awesome vibe. Got so many compliments of this. Lupe is the rudest bartender I've ever dealt with in a very long time. $27.50 for a vodka & cran is crazy. When I ask Lupe why was it so much, her response was 'YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE HERE ‍'. I was totally floored! I explained to her that was really uncalled for, for you to speak to a customer in such a matter was very unprofessional. My friends and I attended the old school R&B Brunch and a time was had! The DJ was amazing! The staff were awesome! The food was delicious. We had the blueberry waffle with fried chicken, and the eggs, bacon and potatoes. I'm a bacon kind of girl and the bacon was cooked perfectly. I don't usually like restaurant eggs, but these eggs were delicious. Now, let's talk about that crispy fried chicken. I don't even like thighs but those chicken thighs were mouthwatering. The crunch was crunching! Now.. here is where FLUID 510 sealed the deal and will be my go to brunch spot. In a world where it's easy to not do the right thing, especially when the error is noticed after the fact, the ownership of Fluid 510 did the right thing after I was accidentally overcharged. I stopped by the next day and left my information not expecting to hear back, but to my surprise they actually read my note and contacted me about a refund for my overpayment. Top notch restaurant!
