After just one experience with Fluke's Aftercare and the owner, Linda, my husband and I would simply not consider taking any one of our four-legged children who will leave us at some, I hope, far in the future point to anyone else. We were met with such compassion, kindness, warmth and understanding that it alleviated any concerns that we may have had as to how our dearly departed would be treated. Linda was kind enough to place Blobbo's remains in the urn that we had purchased elsewhere and, despite our not having requested anything other than clippings of our dear Blobbo's fur, (and we received quite a bit of that - thank you again, Linda,) we also received a lovely remembrance packet that contained his paw print on a heart-shaped piece of plaster, a lovely little remembrance bracelet, some wind chimes that will always remind us of our dear boy, a votive candle, and some candies. Finally, there was also a certificate as to individual cremation having been done that also contained a paw print on it. All of this was contained in a nice tote that was ours to keep and another reminder of our Blobbo. I will say that I did not personally utilize Fluke's Aftercare for cremation services. However, months before my heart and soul became ill I made sure I had things in place for his passing. He was getting up there in age and I wanted to make sure I didn't have to make difficult decisions on the actual day. I had set something up with a local pet cremation service and felt good with that decision. When the day had arrived, I called the place I had established with and was met with absolute horrific treatment. I was absolutely appalled at the stark differences in treatment I had received from this gentleman and just could not bear the thought of bringing my love to him. I couldn't trust him after that! He was cold, heartless, and even suggested I place my baby "outside in a box or something. Whatever." for the night. Absolutely disgusting. I began making some calls to try and figure things out with what little time we had left. That was when I connected with Linda, whose kind words and compassion helped to bring my shattered heart together for a moment. She helped guide me and offered to help even though I was hours away. Most importantly, though, she encouraged me to go spend the last few moments with my baby. And I did. I hung up with her still not knowing what I was going to do afterwards, but knowing I wanted to be with him and the rest would fall into place. So I wanted to thank you, Linda. Your compassion reached me in my hour of need and made me feel like my heart was a valid life who deserved the best I could offer. When I think back on that day in my grief, you are the bright spot in the center of it that kept me from completely shattering to bits. I have always had a great experience as I have gone to Linda multiple times now with my babies as well as fosters in the past, however I am now appalled at how the lack of communication and professionalism has shown through my sisters attempts to make an appointment for her cat and how you would not only refuse services to her because of a bad review that was clearly the feelings of someone who just lost their pet and felt they were not getting the response in order to complete cremation, but then to also say that you refuse service for me as well because I am the sister who recommended you?! Very unprofessional and inconsiderate of a business owner who claims to care about their clients! I did nothing wrong and clearly this was not my pet so how am I being refused because of this? Very sad. I assisted my sister with reaching out to you several times as well as called and we were completely understanding and respectful about your time up to this point, however this is certainly a case where communication was lacking and gapped, making it very difficult to establish anything lt. So being upset about a bad review is understandable, but this was just absolutely ridiculous. I will also share that I am just shocked that you would share emails that for one were to you from me and from my sister reaching out to you and it was not very professional to share them publicly, but also prove that there was in fact gaps between communication over this time frame and that's just those emails you chose to share. I have always appreciated you as you have given me my babies back safe and been sweet to me and my family, this seems very out of character for you and the business you provide, which is very sad because I had done nothing wrong at all and neither did my sister, so I do apologize that you were upset but it is what it is and there was no reason at all to react in such a disrespectful and inconsiderate way as you did.... When my first dog passed away, I was devastated. I had never lost a loved one before, and I was a mess. I found him the most beautiful urn online at Fluke's Aftercare. I called to order it, and Linda was just amazing! She spent more than an hour on the phone with me, a total stranger, listening to stories about my beloved Chipper, and comforting me. I recently dealt with Linda from Rainbow bridge urns aka Flukes aftercare and had a HORRIBLE experience! In late August early September, I found an urn on her website that I had been searching for and was so happy to find it, or so I thought. This was a sad time for me and my Heart was and is still shattered from my loss of my Baby. I had alot of questions purchasing such a personal item in todays world of buying on line. We went back and forth. She isn't a good communicator and has lots of excuses as to why. Meanwhile she claims to be a business owner who has to deal with the public and does it POORLY! Fast forward 2 months later, she calls me after many rude emails, with the urn supplier on the phone to tell me that there is no urn, that it was sold. I asked previously if I could speak to the supplier myself since I could not get any answers from her and I was told they don't deal with the public. Now because she screwed up, she needed someone to take the blame or lighten the blow. Mind you I don't know them (the Supplier) anymore than I know Linda. I didn't speak with the supplier, I cut the conversation with Linda short because by that time, (to be honest, earlier than this) I knew I had to go with my instinct that doing business with her , was not going to happen. I didn't want a bad experience linked to purchasing such a personal item. But the supplier contacted me personally, (thanks for sharing my personal information Linda)! She tried to say that Linda was only telling me what they told Linda and relaying the message. The problem is that the Message I was getting from Linda was NOT the same message from the supplier. Well anyway, originally, per Linda, I was told This was a discontinued item and they had one left in a closed box. If she had any sense or compassion, It would have made sense to check with the Supplier first, to search out this item back in August/Sept when I had first contacted her to find out if they actually had it in stock. But she does that 2 months later (just leading me on) to find out they never even had one available. This was a pure waste of my time during such an emotional time. She is in the wrong profession. If you read her story of when she left her dog with a company that made her feel negative about their experience, you would think that she would be a more compassionate, caring person when dealing now with her own potential customers but instead she is making them feel that same negative experience that she went through. She is not a professional and she more than lacks in communication skills. I would never recommend doing business with her, not to buy an urn and I would definitely think twice about leaving a loved one in her care. Response This is in response to Linda's response. Yes there were emails and a few phone calls, most of them left unanswered. Your emails were not timely and not informative. You dont answer questions, you are asked and then waste time telling me why does this or that matter to you, instead of just providing the proper information. You would think you would have found out in August if the urn was still available and not defective instead of telling yes there is one available and leading me on. I know what happened and you know what happened and I am speaking the Truth. And do not mention my loved ones by name , you have no right too. You are not my family and we did not do business together. As far as my Baby finding her final resting place, that she deserves, she has. As far as my other reviews, we have good experiences and awful experiences and all experiences are reviewed as you and all can see. That is what Yelp is all about, to praise and to warn. I see some SHOUT OUTS in your responses or ignored negative reviews from you but still gave you the benefit of the doubt. Maybe this is just a bad "Fluke" , pun intended. I'm sure her services are great IF she can communicate. I've been trying for a while to set up an appointment but she is very slow to respond (takes days) and she canceled my appointment that we were supposed to schedule because I messaged several hours after to talk about scheduling the appointment? She can go days without communicating with me to tell me when I can come in, but my email being a few hours late (I was gone all day planning a surprise bday party for my sick mother) is not ok?
