(+) Memorable glamping experience. Great for large groups to reserve neighboring spots and hang out. RV spots, cabins, air streams, different options to book here. We had a total of 12 in our party and shared 2 cabins and an RV between us and they were all near each other which was convenient. (+) Wine cabin was like a tiny home. Fun 2nd floor loft and we liked the barn doors that slid side to side. Small but decent kitchen, had the necessities. Best feature was the fire pit in the small backyard. And since we had some of us in the cabin next door it was nice to just walk across in the openings since it's not fully fenced and separated. (+) Kid friendly. We enjoyed the pool / jacuzzi / splash pad a few times. Dog friendly, took my dog on many walks and visited the dog park. Fun riding bikes around, playing basketball or soccer at the pavilion, tossing around a football. Also good spots for family photoshoot... my mother-in-law hired a professional photographer and we got some amazing pictures taken. (+) Restaurant onsite, limited hours but decent menu. Fire pits on the patio and live music certain nights. Hard to hear when your number is called when the band is playing so just check with the chef outside if you think your food should be ready. (+) Their store by registration has plenty of snacks and drinks. Also, free coffee in the lobby and it's pretty good coffee!

This might be one of the best RV Resorts! There truly is something for everyone and even locals seem to come to get wine, pizza and ice cream at the front outdoor restaurant bar. We enjoyed the gorgeous yurt and camp sites and there is also the ever famous Sideways wine bar in the back, pools with cabanas and This was our first time in the area and we really loved exploring the towns nearby and returning back to the camp site where we can have pizza, enjoy nice walks with the dogs, spending time by the fire or drawing on the sidewalks with chalk, lounging poolside and even enjoying some fancy desserts at the dessert food truck. We even got a ride in an electric Moke mobile! Definitely loved Flying Flags and look forward to enjoying this all inclusive gem dog friendly RV Resort where everyone is friendly and nice.

Santa Ynez Guest Ranch - Ranch Loft: Thoroughbred (701) - my type of camping: Glamping!

Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground in Buellton, CA exceeded my expectations and I can't wait to be back! From the moment our party arrived to Flyjng Flags, the staff welcomed us and treated us with kindness and respect. They were genuinely friendly people and I can tell they really care about making sure guests enjoy their stay while providing a clean and safe environment. The RV resort has different sections for all styles of camping, whether it's your own personal trailer, in a Jupe tent, tiki tent, vintage trailer, wine cottage, or brew haus cottage. We stayed in the private ranch area - the Santa Ynez Ranch Cottages and I loved the privacy. I loved that it was a cottage and really embodied the term 'glamping' - definitely my kind of camping. LOL The cottage itself had a private driveway to park our vehicle, a front porch with included a table and oscillating fan, an entryway patio with grill and patio furniture, a bedroom, a kids loft, a smallish full kitchen, and a little family room. It almost felt like a bed and breakfast! The bathroom was nice and clean too. We stayed in 701. The ranch area had its own private pool for the community too. My sister and her family all stayed in one of the four Brew Haus Cottages. Their cottage looked similar to ours but had smaller/cheaper furniture inside than what we had. However, they had a huge front patio and an outdoor fireplace. They stayed in Brew Haus 3. And we loved the shade from their tree. Quiet hours were between 10pm and 8am, and seemed to be followed by everyone on the premise. It was nice to see the employees making rounds throughout the RV resort and campground. It is definitely not a hotel stay because there were bugs inside and, because I knew we were "camping", I was okay with the bugs (we saw 3 spiders in our cottage). Overall, I have more wonderful things to say about this place but I'll leave that for you to experience. I've raved about it to family and friends and can't wait to be back again. Other notable things: - Minutes away from Solvang and Ostrichland - Starbucks, Albertson's, CVS, and Anderson's Pea Soup just around the corner from Flying Flags - They sell food and other basic pantry items, including souvenirs, ice, wood, etc. - There's a dog park, and playground, soccer field, basketball court, etc. - Be sure to pay attention to signs and speed limit, as there are lots of kids running around and on their bikes or scooters. - Their site map is very helpful! - Remember to leave a tip if you feel the staff have earned it :)

    "Internet"

We're here now and all I can say is we're glad we are leaving tomorrow. FYI- their "internet" only supports "basic browsing only." We have not been able to connect at all and unfortunately cell service isn't great. Really wish they would have said this anywhere on their website or at booking instead of advertising their WiFi. Also they advertise "free cable." You have to bring a long chord to connect, again something we would have loved to know prior. We thought it was through their internet. Unfortunately due to how loud it is, we have to play music or a movie for our dogs if we are not in the rv and unfortunately cannot. We weren't even able to order an uber to go to Solvang due to how bad their internet and the reception is here. Shame we had such high expectations, back to staying at KOA's! They're phenomenal and never have any issues, if you do, they comp you and go out of their way to address.

Amazing getaway far enough from home to not run into anyone but close enough to stay longer! Had an amazing time here with family and friends the staff is friendly and welcoming no issues at all so peaceful a respectful environment! So many activities for the kids aswell as adults! I suggest checking the weather for your stay so u can pack accordingly i forgot my pants ended ip freezing my little legs at night!

Professional, kind. We originally planned 4 nights but Pam at Flyingflags scored us spot 5. The entire stay we felt safe, it's extremely clean. The employees are fast at cleaning up at after people depart. They even pickup your trash. That's an extra perk. We have nothing ad to say. We'll be back. It was so special to us.

So our light is bright but the campground light is as bright as what we had! Ridiculous and waste of money smh

If I could give this place 0 stars, I absolutely would. This was by far the worst camping experience we've ever had. Between 8am - 10pm (not quiet hours) we received continuous complaints saying guests had reported us for noise. Yet staff admitted they couldn't even hear our music or voices when they drove by. When I responded to Ivy's text about our experience, I rated it "00" because it was H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E. Later, Jennifer called to follow up, and things only got worse. She told us our music and voices shouldn't be louder than "three campsites down." When I explained we weren't loud, she had no answer. At this point, we genuinely felt targeted. I asked Jennifer a simple question: If a family brings a child on the spectrum who might cry or make noise, would that be an issue here? She said yes, it has been an issue. That was shocking to hear. It's extremely disappointing that this campground seems to discriminate against children with special needs. That speaks volumes. We came here to enjoy Veterans Day weekend and ended up feeling hurt, frustrated, and completely unwelcome. Jennifer kept talking over me while asking me to explain my side; it was exhausting and disrespectful. We will never be back and will not recommend this place to anyone. We camp all over California, and this was, without a doubt, the worst experience we've ever had. It's currently 10:19pm and got a compliant that our lights is too bright? So we're not too noisy now?Well.. apparently since we're not loud but the lights is lighting? Oh my goodness....... This is ridiculous! H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E!!

This was our first time here and it was very busy as the Wine and Chili cook off was happening during the time we were there. There is a lot to offer at this RV resort. There is a kids' playground, pool with kid water area, plus an additional pool and hot tub, bocce ball area, basketball court, walking / bike trail nearby, and we believe a golf course is close as well. The gift shop/grocery store is not that big but has the necessary items. There are 2 eating establishments - one on-site up front, which has great food, and the other one is next door at the hotel. The eating establishment on-site had an area outside to eat with a gas fireplace and a musician in the evening hours. For anyone that wants a party there, there seems to be a section that is specially for large parties (weddings, birthdays, etc.) that is private and a little bit secluded. That is nice to have when you want all your guests to stay nearby without having to be near everyone else and make it more memorable. There are a lot of different areas to stay if you don't have an RV or bus. There are a lot of tents and smaller cabins, and larger ones. One area that has smaller tents has a couple of solar panels set up next to them. There is a safari cabin area and also larger modular type cabins are available. For RV's, there is a propane filling station to refill your propane tanks. As well as a dumo station. Those are 2 things that you don't see too often and are nice to have close by. There shouldn't be any reason that family and friends couldn't join you on a wonderful weekend at this resort & campground. A lot of memories are to be made during your time here!

Nestled in the heart of Buellton, Flying Flags is perfectly situated for those wanting to explore the Santa Ynez Valley. It's an easy drive to local wineries, breweries, and charming little towns. The location is a great mix of seclusion and accessibility, making it a perfect base for both relaxation and adventure. We visited here for a friends birthday and did their glamping tents, which was super enjoyable and definitely a weekend to remember! We can't wait to go back. The glamping tents were like stepping into a simple yet chic, cozy oasis. The tent was spacious surprisingly with a super comfy bed, and each tent had a patio with chairs and a grassy area. There are also a ton of RV spots, so we are looking forward to going back and talking our trailer there! The amenities here are quite impressive and cater to all ages. They have multiple pools and hot tubs which was great. The on-site restaurant, The Hitching Post, serves up some tasty meals. We got pizza from here, while sitting outside and and enjoying the live band they had! They also had a food truck with pastries and sweet treats nearby, which were delicious! They also have another large outdoor space with bocce ball, picnic tables and a food truck which had various BBQ food options. One thing to note - they NEVER answer their phones so it is nearly impossible to get in touch with anyone if you have questions or want to change your reservation. I tried to call multiple times on various days and could not get in touch with anyone. We booked online and we did not get any email confirmation either which we found to be very strange [none of our friends got confirmation emails either]. So I would say that the customer service is definitely a low point here and could use some improvements. Overall though, Flying Flags Buellton offers a fun, family friendly spot for camping with great amenities! After our weekend here, we loved it so much that we are looking at making an annual trip here.

We experienced a high of 84 and one of the nights it was down at 52! We did read that it gets cold at night so luckily we brought warm clothes to sleep in. Having a beanie and warm blankets helped get through the cold nights. Second night was a low of 64, so that wasn't too bad. I like to book my campsite as close as possible to the restrooms to make the trips short, but just an FYI, these restrooms have a really bad smell. The restrooms are kept very clean, but the smell comes from the vent. We could smell that stuff from our campsite, so I would recommend choosing a spot not too close to these restrooms. The campsites looked very nice in size, there was some distance between sites. I like my privacy and I like that there were many small trees providing tons of shade and separation from neighbors. The sites have a BBQ pit and a fire pit. Unfortunately a fire restriction was placed the day before we arrived so we couldn't use either or. They allowed us to use a gas stove. There is no running water as mentioned so we brought extra to drink, wash dishes, and shower. They do sell water at the site, but it is very expensive so be sure to bring a lot of water.

There is free parking, playground, picnic areas, sports fields, walking path, & restrooms. This park is unique! I planned to come see it for myself when I came to Solvang on Jan. 17, 2026. Every aspect from the entrance sign to the playground is filled with Danish decor! I was intrigued with the mosaic clock tower out front and the embedded elements in the walkway. The playground is awesome! You walk through the windmill to the slightly raised decking. I checked out the neat painted wood panels, each with cutouts for your face or body. Photo Op time! There's a castle with towers, slides, tire swings and regular swings, rubber rope to walk across, rock climbing wall, monkey bars, rings, and more! My favorite campground, hands down…read more It honestly bugs me that Yelp only has a one-to-five rating system, because sometimes five stars just isn't enough. This place deserves a 9.9 out of 10. Let me tell you about this hidden gem. First off, the name is almost misleading. Sun Outdoors Santa Barbara makes it sound like it's right in Santa Barbara, but it's actually about 15 minutes north of Goleta, in the El Capitan area -- and that name fits it much better. This place feels like a hidden piece of heaven. This is my third time being here. The first time was when I was in boarding school in eighth grade and we came here on a school trip. The second time was when I was married and stayed at the connected glamping resort. My ex-wife loved to travel, and we stayed at some very elegant places, but this was glamping at its finest. What I didn't realize back then is that the hotel and RV campground are connected by a little trail. You can walk from the RV side to the hotel area, visit their little convenience store, and continue down toward the beach. I'm currently in spot 818, all the way near the top, and it feels like I'm in the mountains. It's private, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. But just a short walk away, you have access to one of the most beautiful beaches around. It feels almost private. Absolutely stunning. For me, this RV campground is perfect. They have everything: a dog park where your dog can run off-leash, a kids' playground, hiking trails, a pool, a jacuzzi, clean and beautiful bathrooms, and well-kept grounds. Everything is maintained extremely well. The staff is also outstanding. Kathy runs the place, and she clearly runs a tight ship. Every staff member I've dealt with has been wonderful. They're never in your way, but they're always there when you need them. That's rare. Before coming here, I stayed at a very nice RV park in Malibu. Was it nice? Sure. You could see the ocean. But it felt more like being in a parking lot. Here, I feel like I'm actually camping in the woods. Then you walk a little ways and suddenly you're at this incredible beach. I started RV life in February, and this is my fourth place so far. To me, this is heaven on earth. I've been here for a month, and I have to leave on the 8th because a school rented out the whole property and everyone has to clear out. Honestly, I'm sad to leave. But it's probably for the best, because I'm supposed to be exploring the coast -- and if I didn't have to leave, I might never go. As Arnold Schwarzenegger would say: I'll be back. Thank you to Kathy and everyone at Sun Outdoors/El Capitan for making my stay so comfortable and wonderful. I rarely write reviews unless a place is either the absolute best or disturbingly bad. This place is something very special. If you ever get the chance to stay here, take it.

Our first time staying in camp ground, we had electricity hooked up which was very good. We stayed next to the pool and hot tub. My kids really loved going to the pool and hot tub. The showers/restrooms were kept clean. There are 4 showers where we stayed. The camp ground is huge and there's different places in the camp ground where you can stay. There's the RV and tent encampment. There's also El Capitan Canyon encampment which falls in the Sun Outdoor family branch where there's cabins and yurts. We are definitely coming back!! Definitely recommended.

Didn't explore the tide pools, wind caves, hiking trails, or natural hot springs (yet), or use one…read moreof the 41 campsites, but I loved the tall train trestle looking over the sandy, secluded beach, which can be seen in the excellent movies Sideways and 20th Century Women. Gaviota allegedly takes its name from Spanish soldiers who killed a seagull while camping there in 1769, though that story might be for the birds. Of the 2000 acres of backcountry, the steep Gaviota Peak Fire Road (2.5 miles from entrance) lleads to small sulfur springs, open to the public. Overlook Fire Road is a three mile round trip up a hill for a view of the Channel Islands. It's called Overlook because mountain lions were will overlook you with napkins stuffed into the collar holding knives and forks.

It's not typical of campgrounds I'm used to (like in Tahoe) where the sites are separate and there is some level of privacy. This is literally just a parking lot and there's some dirt behind the parking spot for you to pitch a tent. I can't really knock it because that's often typical of beach campgrounds. But just not my style. On the positive, it's like a 2 minute walk to the beach and it's nice to be next to the ocean. It does get a bit windy, so be aware of that. As an en route campground it's definitely not worth the $50 unless you need to shower. Probably should have just slept at a nearby vista point. But I can see it being great for families with kids who want to have beach time and then just walk back to the campsite.

Review stated that the water supply is contaminated by an upstream mining operation and that the fish from the reservoir were inedible.. That was very disappointing to hear. I had 10 wonderful days of camping here with great neighbors who respected quiet hours…read more Unfortunately, a new couple moved in and their dog barked nonstop all night -- from 11 PM until 5 AM. Quiet hours are clearly stated as 10 PM to 7 AM ,and we all signed a contract agreeing to that. I contacted the park office, only to later be told I should have called the sheriff instead. The ranger did absolutely nothing during the night. This morning the ranger spoke to my neighbor and then came to tell me that I could move -- even though I followed all the rules. The noisy neighbors were allowed to stay. If I wanted peace and quiet, apparently I was the one expected to relocate. When I asked the neighbor why he couldn't control his dog, he said, "What do you want me to do, tape its mouth shut?" That says everything about the kind of pet owner he is. It's unbelievable to punish someone who's been here peacefully for 10 days while allowing a dog to bark all night and disturb the entire campground. If you stay here, bring earplugs -- because management won't help. I'm giving two stars only because I enjoyed my stay before the neighbors from hell showed up.
