Loved it! Everything about this trip was perfect. Our guide, Ella, was easy going- but clearly knew what she was doing, so we felt totally safe. We did a short bit of the river on the first day and then had a magical overnight camping by the river. The wall-tents were comfy and all set up for us- and it turned out: Ella can cook too! Wow. Hung out by the fire pit, slept like a baby in the tent and woke up to a herd of very chill Elk. After a great breakfast we headed back onto the river for a longer day. Ella pointed out eagles, a marmot and answered all of our questions, all while guiding us expertly down the river. So beautiful and the right combination of relaxing and exciting! Even the bus ride back was a blast. A total win!

This was such a good experience! My friend looked through the different rafting options in the area, and she chose this one because it was the least expensive. Parking was easy, and we were directed to arrive about 1 hour before the time we had booked. They supplied us with life jackets, wet shoes, and a paddle. The day we came the river was a class 3 on a scale of five for white water rafting, and even though it was a bit buggy, the sun was out and we had so much fun. We chose the 8 mile raft ride and it took about 2 hours. Our guide was Maria, and she gave great instructions. She was so fun, friendly, cool and professional. She gave good directions for each side to paddle when they needed to. There were pictures available of us that their team of kayakers had taken available after as well. We loved the team, everyone was so easy to be around and gave very clear instructions. The process was so easy, and we had a really great experience. 10:10

Eli. Aka "The River Drifter". Aka "The Architect of the Yellowstone River". This man is a legend. Best rafting guide ever. He serenaded us like a Venetian Gondolier, tied my hair into a Viking braid, offered better marital counseling than 20 years of therapy, and yeeted my son off the front of the raft all included in the price of our trip. Don't let his Cletus the Slack-Jawed Yokel looks fool you. Despite the fact he has no teeth he can hit every high note from Con te partiro better than Will Ferrell. At one point Eli pulled to the side of the river and did 40 handstand push-ups with no hands while belting out Eminem's Rap God. I will forever sing Eli's praises and if this review is seen by his superiors, he definitely didn't say anything bad about you and he probably needs a raise.

Wow what an incredible experience. My friend found this company while we were traveling through Yellowstone and we were set on seeing the park in a different way and this was it! Let it be known that is was freezing. So, my expectations were not very high. But man was I wrong. Our guide, Anna, was great. She was full of informative tidbits and ensured that we had a stellar experience from start to finish. We had the opportunity took see a band eagle, pronghorn, and elk while on this excursion and she would allow the raft so we could get the best view. The rubber had plenty of rapids so it came loaded with fun and splashes! Even in the thirty degree weather, we man bagged to stay warm I'm the provided wet suits. Beijing your own gloves! There are numerous raft companies in Gardiner, but this company is the one you should pick!

Wonderful experience. Enjoyed greatly by the children. Very attentive and engaging staff. Tyler was very clear with instructions. He was also full of useful information about the area. All the other staff was very cheerful too. They provided us with wet suit and water shoes which were needed for the adventure.

We did the half day whitewater rafting trip with two of our grandsons ( ages 10 and 8) and thanks to the great staff at Flying Pig, we're officially the "cool grandparents"! It was their favorite day of our Yellowstone/Grand Teton vacation. Our guide, Ella, was wonderful. I had knee replacement surgery several months ago and I wasn't as steady as I should have been to go down the embankment towards the river. Ella assisted me the entire way down so that I could enjoy this wonderful day with my grands. Highly recommend this trip and this business for some great memories! read more

On July 1, several of us engaged in a scenic rafting experience offered by Flying Pig. It was wonderfu! Seth was our guide and we really appreciated his skill and knowledge, as he answered our many questions, especially regarding the history of Flying Pig and the magnificent scenery on our trip. Our group consisted of senior citizens, and he was helpful and patient with all of us, recognizing our limitations. He even allowed me to get in the River and pulled me back in. I would highly recommend this business. Its entire staff was excellent. I am hoping to be able to do this again, someday. read more

Our group of 6 were all new to rafting. We had the best time ever!! Preston (our guide) set the bar crazy high for any future rafting trips, he was so fun and knowledgeable (he taught us all about rivers, wildlife, and other local attractions)! If we had more time we would have booked another full day trip and requested Preston just so we could hang out with him again. This experience turned us all into rafting aficionados! As an added bonus, we got to see a bald eagle take flight from a tree so that was cool too. Preston and our raft day made our entire Yellowstone Trip! You should ask your raft guide "Can pigs fly?" and see what happens! The only thing I wish I would've known (which I could've if I had called probably lol) is there is a bit of a tough walk down to get into the boats- but honestly 5 mins into the trip we forgot all about the trek because we were having such a great time. I'd recommend wearing all swim material clothes so that you dry quickly because even on a warm day the water can be chilly and the wind nippy. Having shorts/pants that aren't swim material will keep you cold and wet (dry fit doesn't work the same as swim material lol). If you don't have water shoes they have them available for you to borrow and they also had neoprene/wet suits but we didn't use them. read more

The Flying Pig saddle and paddle was by FAR the best $100 I've ever spent on any kind of tourist activity. It started out with a 2 hour horseback tour. The hells'a'roarin ranch where we started the day clearly takes amazing care of their horses, they were obviously treated very well and the ranch itself was beautiful. The horses were well - behaved, the cowboy who lead our tour (I think his name was Ethan?) was friendly and engaging as were the people at the ranch who helped us get going, and the ride itself was BREATHTAKING. The views and sights were stunning. The ride was surprisingly interesting - not the watered-down tourist rides I've experienced before. Not saying it was an advanced ride, just not a boring, flat straight trail like I had feared, as it meandered over an open countryside, through wooded areas, over streams, up and down somewhat steep trails, etc. After that was lunch, which is included. Not a crappy school - cafeteria- type bag lunch like I expected, rather a wrist band that got us a burger, fries, and drink at a local restaurant. Can't remember the name, but it was REALLY tasty. Had about an hour to chill and digest after that, then checked in just up the block for the white - water rafting. Again, the guides (Tyler and... Grant maybe?) were really chill, friendly, and helpful. This was my 9th white - water excursion and while it wasn't the most difficult (honestly, it was pretty easy from a tourist - participation standpoint) I've done, it was one of the more fun rides in terms of being a good mix of scenic stretches and wild, choppy stretches. Tyler, the guide for the boat I was in, had interesting facts and funny anecdotes throughout the trip and also gave us suggestions for other things to do in the area. We've encountered other guides for different companies during this trip that were apathetic at best, so it was great to experience this with someone who sincerely seems to love his job. I really can't recommend this company enough, the quality of the experience leaves me dumbfounded that we only spent $100 each because I could have spent twice that and still felt like I got my money's worth. Don't hesitate to go with this company- I'm so glad I went with them instead of one of the more expensive companies I had originally looked at! read more

Great scenic rafting trip. Ellis was a great guide and he's got the jokes. It was a few hours where I could forget about the stress of my job and enjoy and laugh. Just what I needed. It was my little girls first time so he made sure she wasn't scared. I recommend this place highly. Can't wait for our horseback trip tomorrow. read more

The site does say that cancellations charge $5.00 per person. So this is my fault... still... I booked for 8 three weeks advance. I then found out that west yellowstone to the raft trip was 2 hour ride and the raft trip was 1.5 to 2 hour trip. so basically i was travelling 2 hours for a 2 hour ride. My wife and group called me names and so I needed to find alternate. I found Whitewater Rafting 1 hour away for half day ride for $10 pp more. I canceled the trip with the pig 24 hours after booking. I really doubt the pig incurred $40 dollar cost for taking my reservation. Cancelation in 24 hours... tempted to call my card company and deny payment sue me! read more
