Friedman strode in looking harried and asked "What are you here for today?" with a puss on his face. Before I finished answering, he interrupted with "Look, I can't see you without an ID." I said "I told the receptionist I could go get it. I live about two blocks away." "If you're not happy with the care, you can go somewhere else." So I did. Very strange and unpleasant interaction. My fault for not having an ID, but what an A-hole. Best I can figure, I was labeled suspicious for not having my ID and shown the door. He also wouldn't give me my chart when I left. Sure he once broke both legs jumping off a boat into 4' deep water and getting medical advice from a dude with giant casts on both of his legs was a little suspect, but I digress. Since that doctor I've had a long string of managed care zombies. Every single one has made a snap judgment based on the first symptom or two they heard and hustled me along. I had one doc say "You need to lose some weight" based on my BMI, not bothering to note that I was at the time a bodybuilder with single digit body fat (his advice would be correct nowadays, but again I digress). Dr. Friedman, who I chose totally at random as the nearest doctor who took my insurance, has been an unexpected joy. He's very kind, listens to his patients, doesn't rush you at all and seriously knows his stuff. He has also worked in the area for a very long time and has extensive connections in the local medical community. I've gotten a couple of referrals from him and they both worked out wonderfully. To be fair his office is a little dated-feeling and could use a facelift, but that hasn't affected the quality of care I've received at all. I'd much rather have a great doctor with a 70's-feeling office than a mediocre doctor in a state of the art facility, which seems all too common these days.

It's always hard to make an appointment here and the staff there has no customer service skills. The ladies working the phones there remind me of indifferent and rude post communist era customer service workers from my childhood. Don't try to call between noon and 1pm when it's most convenient to call as you are on your lunch break, because they are shut down for their lunch break. I had a good first visit here with the doctor I picked as my 'primary provider'. She seemed to really care, was through and had good intentions. She asserted that she will always make time to see me when I was having symptoms as this was the only way to make diagnosis and take samples. As you might guessed soon I wanted to take her up on the offer and wrote her an email she said that this could wait (which meant another 2,3 weeks after and having to make appointment through sweeties on their call lines). I had to also pick another doctor as she was booked for 3 months out. When I made it to the appointment with the new female doctor she wasn't able to diagnose me as my symptoms were not there at the moment. She recommended to request the appointment when I am having symptoms. So here we go again... Also their nurses are the type that think that they can lie to you about something and think that you are dumb enough to believe them. In my case that was about an orthopedic brace. The doctor said that they had some and that it was covered by my insurance, but the nurse couldn't find one, and just wanted to get rid of me, so she made up a story of how the ones that they have would cost me more than the ones you get at the pharmacy. Never, never again for me. Family/ Primary doctors recommendations welcomed!

This is the "low-income" clinic, and I'm in the residence program, which means I get doctors who are still learning. This is awesome because they are totally willing to go outside the box to find treatment for things that other doctors will just give a pill. The best part is they have to double-check with an attending whenever they offer treatment, so it's like you are getting an instant second opinion. I am so happy I have this clinic as a provider, the providers and office staff are so very friendly. One thing to be aware of, you sometimes have to wait a while for them to answer the phone when you are trying to make an appointment, but it is always worth it!

I took my daughter to have an initial examination with this doctor I was in the room due to my daughter being so nervous and anxious This doctor was inadequate and didn't do a good job at all. Then when I asked at front if she was going to order any labs or update my daughter vaccinations the front person said she didn't ordered anything and that she needed to come back for a initial examination bc she was going to do that next appt. What?!! Right?! I was very disappointed of how she handled the exam like downplaying any concerns my daughter had. Saying that a test such an an MRI was too expensive to do etc I really wanted my daughter to have a good experience but it didn't happened. She treated her poorly and made assumptions about her when my daughter came in with PPO insurance. It was discriminatory and bias at least. So dissatisfied and disappointed and people such as these should not become physicians. I booked another appt for my daughter with another doctor there who did my exam and who was a profesional. My husband and I found Dr Raisis to be very friendly, respectful and great bedside manner. I am very, very picky about who my doctors are, and I immediately felt very comfortable with Dr Raisis. In the recovery room I heard staff talking about him, and they had nothing but good things to say about him. In my book, if medical staff speaks highly of a doctor, that is who I'm going too see! Dr Pritchett made a good choice!! Two wonderful doctors, and this morning, I'm sore but no real pain!! I was told to expect lots of pain post op...doesn't seem to be happening! And I credited those two doctors and the great staff at Swedish Ortho Insitiute!!

I don't live in Seattle anymore so this review is rather overdue, but I am currently reviewing my…read morerecords from Dr. Raisis and his colleague Dr. Steege, which reminded me I wanted to review them here. Dr. Raisis in particular was completely disinterested in my case; he was never receptive to anecdotes that would help explain my symptoms (in fact, he outright said he had never seen my particular issue in his career, when in fact it is a fairly common issue and relatively easy to see on diagnostic images, according to information I've gathered and surgeons I've met in the meantime). For a few years I defended him, saying that while his bedside manner was terrible, he was a good "mechanic." That changed when I was diagnosed and treated for a rare infection that Dr. Raisis had neglected to warn me was a possibility of the last surgery he had done on me. In fact, Dr. Steege had seen me while I was trying to get a diagnosis, and he correctly guessed what was wrong but dismissed me saying that couldn't be the case. By the time my infection was diagnosed, there was an imminent threat of kidney failure (yes, stemming from a neuro issue!). I would not recommend Dr. Raisis or his colleague Dr. Steege. Terrible customer service, and negligent doctors with little interest in cases they do not find compelling.

She tested me for allergies. Or, I guess her assistant did. That's what I went in for…read more She also tried to give me some more steroid cream for my eczema, after I told her that they don't work. She seemed to be convinced that they were the only thing that would work. I am not convinced. I refused. Once I cut out the foods that I tested positive for allergy-wise, my eczema has gotten light years better. Steroid free. I would have enjoyed my experience more here if she would have listened to me and maybe given me some other options. After all, I paid $255, right? But, ultimately, what I went in for was to get the little scrape-y test done. And I did. And it helped. So that is good.

She was unable to diagnose my non-allergic rhinitis (even after doing her assistant did allergy…read moretesting that turned up negative) and gave me the wrong kind of nose-spray for my condition. She seems like a nice person but I'm unsure as to why doctors in the area recommend her. She gave me no answers even after I complained of chronic sinus infections. I also had to have my immunology testing done at Mayo Clinic, as she felt it wasn't necessary. It absolutely was, given that some of the results showed an issue. I also want to mention that she does make you wait quite awhile to see her. If you're getting allergy testing done by her assistant, she'll see other patients in between. I believe I was at her office for 2 hours.

She's extremely thorough, smart, warm and personable. And while her practice uses the best of technology, the way she practices medicine is reminiscent of a time when there were no HMOs, insurance companies or 15-minute appointment allotments. Yep, Dr. Marshall will actually spend A LOT of time getting to know and treating you, even though that runs counter to maximizing profits! I also appreciate that Dr. Marshall practices holistic medicine; I see it as getting the best of both worlds. She's very knowledgeable about nutrition, acupuncture, naturopathy, physical medicine, and of course, Western medicine. The Eylan Health office is clean, relaxing, organized, and I haven't had any trouble getting appointments. I like using the Eylan Health E-Portal to schedule appointments, upload docs, get lab orders and communicate with Dr. Marshall (I haven't gotten on board with the MyChart system at our other doctors quite yet). Oooh, and the office is right down the street from Mayuri Indian Cuisine, a fantastic choice if you're in the mood for Indian food. But here's my #1 reason for being a Dr. Marshall/Eylan Health fan: I'm actually feeling BETTER after a month of simple changes and Dr. Marshall's treatments! I've been seeing health practitioners and trying every reasonable treatment under the sun [well, that I can actually afford] to deal with my musculoskeletal issues for nearly a decade now. Yet in the past 6 weeks since seeing Dr. Marshall, I've become convinced that my body is actually starting to heal (or at least it's not reacting so poorly to every little stress). Honestly, I didn't expect these kind of results at all, so color me shocked and delighted! I have definitely spent the past year especially working HARD on my health, so I like to think those efforts prepared my body to be receptive to Dr. Marshall's treatments. The treatments I've had have been so gentle that I couldn't imagine how they could benefit me, by the way - there's no spine cracking or painful injections involved! Your mileage may vary, but my best advice is to give Dr. Marshall and whatever she prescribes for you a try because she's an excellent doctor who will truly give your WHOLE health the time, energy, care and attention it deserves. Take this review to heart; Dr. Andrea Marshall at Eylan Health is a unique gem. Just don't take my preferred appointment time (I make a trafficky trek to see Dr. Marshall)! ;-)
