Luckily for me, Guardian Family Care doesn't actually take insurance, but instead has a very, very, affordable monthly plan which includes visits anytime I need them. There is no messy insurance paperwork/deductible/co-pay/etc, and if they have the medication or shot you need in house, they'll take care of you on the spot! * Vaccinations for my trip to India? Check! * Immediate treatment and medication for a terrible allergic reaction to a spider bite in my cheek? Check! * Getting me in for blood tests when I was passing out almost daily and teaching me about my blood sugar issues? Done! (and now my blood sugar seems to have leveled out pretty well) * Free tetanus shot at the same time my fiance had an appointment just because I was overdue for one? Absolutely! Simply put, the doctors Morgan (Dr. Robert and Dr. Nancy) have definitely saved my bacon on numerous occasions, for which I am very grateful. The Edmonds office is almost within walking distance from my home and it seems to be less busy than the Lynnwood office. That's a definite plus! I've been here many times to their Urgent Care clinic (which is in the same section as the 'regular' care), but I'd never been on a regular basis. I went in for a problem and they sent me upstairs to another doctor. The staff both upstairs and down were super nice and I was able to be seen quickly upstairs. The doctor who treated me was extremely nice and understood my situation. I'd been without a primary care physician since my doctor at Lynnwood retired a couple of years ago but two of the staff at the Edmonds clinic recommended another doctor, so I made two appointments with her. I was even able to change one of the appointments with no issues at all when I realized there was a conflict. I've been in twice to see a pharmacist about my medications and she was super nice as well. I love that this location has its' own pharmacy. It's so convenient and although the staff seem a little flustered at times, I like coming here. Overall, my care has been great and I like coming to this location. Hopefully I can transition completely to this location for most of my medical needs. It would definitely save a lot of time and gas. As for their Urgent Care, it's been great. Thankfully I haven't had to come too often but I love that it's there when I need it. The parking is a lot better here than at Lynnwood, but there are two sides to the building so it can get confusing as to which one is the correct one. The one on the other side of the building that faces away from the street is the entrance that goes to the main reception desk.

I visited her…read moretowards the end of last year as a new patient and she spent about 30 minutes getting to know me before checking everything that I asked her to. She made me feel comfortable and relaxed every step of the way, talking me through everything. Dr. Karmali is extremely kind, attentive, gentle, humble, and calming. She went to UW Med School, so extra points for that! Another cool thing is that Swedish uses MyChart, an online personal health record system where you can see your medical history, appointments, messages from your doctor, etc. Strangely, when I called to make an appointment, the receptionist said that Dr. Karmali did not have any openings until January 2015. However, when I went online to MyChart, I saw multiple openings between now and the end of the year. I ended up making an online appointment with Dr. Karmali for early December and cancelling my phone-made appointment with another doctor at Swedish. I am so excited to go see Dr. Karmali again soon!

After my motorcycle accident in 2009 Dr. Karmali checked up on me and worked with my medical records from Harborview to continue with my pain management care. To this day she still works closely with me on this care and has been very good at keeping an eye out for my health and well being and continues to work with my pain management doctor at Harborview. Dr. Karmali set me up with MyChart (available to all Swedish patients) when I moved back to WA and through that I am able to discuss issues with her without having to make an appointment to go into the clinic (I'm already there enough as it is!) and she is quick to get back to me usually same day but definitely within 24 hours. She even responds on her days off and to me, that is complete dedication and proves just how much she cares about her patients. I have recommended her to a couple of friends and they love her as well. Dr. Karmali is very knowledgeable and caring. If she is unsure of something she will investigate the issue to ensure that you get the best possible care. She is just an amazing doctor and an even more amazing person.
