Our spot was level, had a picnic table and all utilities worked fine. The internet is exceptionally good - which was surprising! There is a cute little park across the street with a playground if you have kids with you. We did not use the shower house as we are self contained. The campground is about 3 blocks off Main Street, so a little quieter than the small parks We did walk in to town to hit up Fobaires for a burger and fries- so put that on your list too.

We arrived around 4:45 pm and very few at the campground, though as nightfall came, there were a few others that stopped and were mostly out early in the morning. Very friendly and helpful check in. We had reservations but had our pick of spaces. I wish I had taken a photo of the showers - they were plenty big, had a chair and were very clean. This was wonderful for my 83 year old mother that wanted to refresh after a few days on the road. I was on the fence about a full 5 stars only because of the ants... crazy ants everywhere but I had non-toxic spray for the tent and sprayed around the picnic table. It didn't stop them all, but helped. We still have a few ants that managed to find a ride on our tent to our next stop. We all got a few mosquito bites as well -- something we forget about not having many on the West Coast. If you stay here, it is peaceful and the "Prairie View" name suits it well. Had we unhooked our RV we would have ventured into the quaint little town for some food. It is worth a look if you stay. Otherwise, it's no frills, but clean and friendly and will be a nice stop over on your travels.

We knew our spot and decided to set up and reach out the office later. At 3 pm we called again, no answer. than we receive text message saying that our credit card was denied an we need to leave the property immediately, and that the sheriff department was notified and is on its's way. We called again this time lady piked up the phone, we said that we can use different CC, there was no arguing with her she just repeated that sheriff is on its way an we need to leave. We said that we paid one night deposit .... she said that she will refund the money. We packed up made another reservation using the same CC and left in rain and severe thunderstorms. Couple days later we have not receive the refund for our deposit, on top of that our card was charged remaining balance. We disputed the charges and tried to contact the lady again with no luck. Stay away from this place, empty campground ( probably because more people were treated like us), no office stuff, hard to contact the office. and fraudulent CC charges.

I attempted to make coffee while he was driving but all I made was liquid grounds and a huge mess! They recommended the 3 Sisters at the permit office so odd we headed to grab some Java. When we walked in it was empty except for one table and she greeted us with "Are ya here for breakfast?" Well that wasn't our plan but I immediately responded yes because I wasn't going to try to cook after the coffee fiasco of 2023! Hubby was hesitant because he isn't used to enjoying his time while working but went along with me. He is Ssssssuuuuppperrrr glad he did! We ordered 2 eggs and had browns and toast ($1 extra for the sourdough and worth it!) and biscuits and gravy (2 full biscuits) and home fries. He raved over the home fries. Says they are the best he has had. Service was so personable and she honestly asked us about our morning and where we were headed. The decor was hometown midwestern and they are recently under new management. The coffee was amazing and the food went above and beyond. I made certain to thank the Chef for making us an awesome breakfast that we weren't expecting to get when we stopped. Further it was all cooked fresh and to order. I'll be back!
