This was my favorite restaurant that I have eaten at in Europe by far. We ate here off of a recommendation from a friend, and we were impressed. On a strip where there were many restaurants to choose from, FOC was the only one crowded at the time that we were eating, so that said a lot to us. Even while being crowded they got us in quickly. There was indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. The food was very reasonably priced, but the alcohol could've been cheaper. We had a strawberry sangria pitcher (1.5L) for 21€. It was delicious, but I definitely think it could be a little cheaper. For an appetizer we chose the sweet potato fries with brava sauce and we were not disappointed. It was served to us in a flower pot, so extra points for presentation. As far as main dishes, I had the tacos and my boyfriend had the Argentinian cut of steak. My tacos came with lime cream sauce, avocado, and lime slices. The steak cam with grilled vegetables and a dipping sauce as well. Our food was phenomenal. We debated going back a second day in a row just because it was so good! I absolutely will come back again when I am in Barcelona next. read more

ahhhh this place filled me with so much joy! Coming here with a group of pals, we were hungry for some good food. We ordered a pitcher of mango sangria to share. It was very refreshing and had some fresh fruit at the bottom too. My friend and I split some wings, which were also very tasty. I was thrilled to see the arepas I ordered because I knew I was going to very much enjoy it. It comes with palm sized arepas, chicken, black beans, pork, pico de Gallo, etc. Everything you need to make your own arepas! I was blown away. And though it looks like a little bit of food, I was STUFFED at the end of the meal. Very much satisfied too. We were sat outside and it was a nice beautiful day. The exterior had some nice latin decorations. Our server was kind too and helpful in explaining the menu. Price was very reasonable and I left this place happy. I recommend this place to any visitors of Barcelona looking for a decently priced place to eat near the ocean. read more

Frozen margarita was watered down,not frozen when it got to the table and above all else .. sugary. Never had a sugary classic lime margarita in my life. Had the arepas, the dough was NOT COOKED. A plus for Barcalona. Short off... Lovely new place in the most busy area of Barca. Normally you wouldnt find me in streets like this. But they improved. The whole street it known by me as shabby, touristic, "get-as-many-ppl-in-your-restaurant-per-night-nomatter-what-quality" kind of places. Not my kind of style. But this place seems ok. Kinda busy day, no place outside, but the waiters are happy to relocate you when there is a table available outside. Okay, point one the hot bartender. Point two: It took long time to get something ordered. But you know, whatever? Its like 35 degrees outside and they have to work. Get a break. You wouldnt be running around like crazy either. What we ordered came quick, maybe there is airconditioning in the kitchen? Who will say! The burgers are good over here, and we had some nacho's. They where Nacho's the way they supposed to be, Beans, peppers, cheese, unions, nom. Definitely a good way to close a long day at the beach for something small. The tables are all small and close together, so much privacy isnt there. But like i said its a good and nice way to close a day at the beach eat something, have some refreshment. Lovely peruvian food right near the beach that had many options for a vegan like myself! Staff was wonderful with a great & chill vibe! We came back twice on our weekend stay in Barcelona which says a lot!! You could tell the crowd was mixed with a lot of regulars that was just enjoying their espresso to a bigger posse of exchange students that was enjoying drinks & sharing nachos as a starter. They over charged us and even when we told them that we did not ordered an extra drink we ended up paying anyway. Why would be wanted to make it up....it was just one cup of wine. But the fact that they did not take responsibility for over charging us and pinning it on us was very distasteful from their parts. They said that each drink is being registered and backed up by a ticket which we did not get was just too much for me. We ended up paying for the drink and that is the reason why i would not recommend this place and if you go make sure to ask for each receipt of your drinks. The food is not bad, but you have other places to go that will not try to rob you. read more

I had the quinoa bowl and an agua Fresca. Both everything I needed. My friend was sleeping back at the Airbnb and they are open late so I sat at the bar and the female bartender and male bartender were super friendly and attentive. They offer anything you'd want and it all smells and looks good. The quinoa bowl was one of the freshest I've had and it had so much in it with a refreshing lime & mint vinaigrette. We needed something off the beaten Barcelona path. Although we had been enjoying the paella and tapas, we needed something a little different. FOC was exactly what we needed. Joey the bartender was flexible in turning his already terrific margarita into a Cadillac version. Not once, but twice. The starters were terrific and when we were served nachos in the place of the tacos we ordered, the server genuinely apologized and quickly brought out delicious tacos. Very nice little restaurant at the Passeig leading towards the sea at Barcelonas Barceloneta. We arrived to this wonderful city only 2 hours before and where wandering the sea site, when we got hungry. We promptly got a seat at the guest guarden right at the Passeig in the sun. The food was delicious as was the homemade lemonade. Yumm! So much what we had hoped for, instantaneous holiday feelings kicked in! This was the only busy restaurant we walked past last night so we decided it must be good - we were right. I can't remember the exact spanish names on the menu but we ordered the ribs and a fish dish. The ribs came out sizzling hot and the meat practically fell off the bone as soon as I touched my knife to it. It was about half a rack (maybe more) and covered in barbecue sauce with more on the side. I ordered grilled veggies as a side and those were so good as well. The fish was tender and sat on some sort of cornbread thing covered with a mild peanut flavored sauce along with spinach, radishes, and sliced peaches - resulted in a unique flavor. There's indoor and outdoor seating (heated). Servers were very friendly. Beer is good. Come here if you are visiting the port and want a change from the typical Spanish dishes. I will say that it was pretty loud inside as it was packed and music was playing, but it is kid friendly as there were several families there with kids. read more

This place was good and fun. My husband and I stopped by this place one night and grabbed a mojito pitcher at the bar. The bartender was really cool & the Mojito was so good, my husband and I searched for this place again two days later! We got two pitchers this time and tried some food. Visited Barcelona a month ago and never got a chance to write this amazing restaurant/bar a review. Their staff was amazing. Even got to meet Gina Rodriguez's twin that worked there. She was an amazing waitress, helped us with our food and drink selection. I wanted a spicy mango margarita and she told the bartender, which made it happen. The location was close to our hotel, walking distance and I loved that it had the indoor/outdoor seating. It was casual and chill. Which is what I was looking for. Mixed fillings about this place. The tacos (€2 each) are good but not great, the margheritas (€8.50) are definitely overpriced, and I'm sure there are waaaaay better options for a drink or a dinner. I literally cannot day enough good things about this restaurant. I tried so many things on their menu and LOVED them all. YOU HAVE TO GET THE CROQUETTES. We also loved the strawberry sangria (made with champagne,) nachos, burrito bowl, tacos and guacamole. I stayed in Barcelona for 4 nights and ate at FOC 4 times! It's that good. And in the 4 times I ate here the staff was very friendly and attentive. My fellow Americans, do not expect to be checked on constantly like you do in America it's just not how it works here. So study the menu, figure out what you want to order, order it all at once, sit back and relax and enjoy your meal. Love this place, would seriously visit Barcelona again just to eat here, definitely going to have croquette withdrawals read more

Before I even came to Barcelona a friend raved about it, but I'm puzzled why this place is so highly recommended. The food is below average, almost like a chain restaurant in states. The staff wasn't rude, but they weren't very nice either. I was very disappointed by the drinks too, my friends got watery margaritas and the sangria was actually sour. The patio part is filled with smokers and the night we were there a very loud, obnoxious group of young adults. It's in a good location to the beach, but I think there is much better food and atmosphere somewhere else. read more

We loved this place during our stay in La Barceloneta. Came back on our last night. We tried the tuna with plantain (heavenly), the crispy ball things, the burrito bowl, and the burger. If you're a tourist, go someone else!!! I want to preface this by saying I'm not "that guy" who has decent experiences and then turns around and writes scathing reviews on Yelp. But in this case I just had to. Short story: Basically, many hate tourists here and will treat you accordingly. Not an uncommon sentiment in Barcelona though. If you don't speak Spanish they often automatically ignore/disregard you. I mean the service at most restaurants in the area is shitty (no hostess or bussers servers run around doing everything, so first impression tends to be very disorganized). So I guess it's not surprising that we waited around 40 minutes for a table and then left after 20 minutes when no server had even come to say hello or get out order. Wish I could review the food (I'm sure we have better Guac and tacos at home anyways) but never got the chance. Long story: We got all dressed up and went on a busy Friday night at 10:30pm for a late dinner on the last night of our honeymoon. After standing around being ignored we finally got to put our name down and after 20 minutes or so checked back to see how much longer. The blond waitress was like what's your name? And then insisted she already called it which I honestly never heard. She seemed very annoyed by me. Which it probably should have been the other way around but I kept my friendly canadian persona up and just asked so what does this mean - will we still be able to get a table? She said she would have to put me at the bottom of the list again. A few times she came up to me and asked, are you on the list? What is your name? As if I hadn't just talked to her 5 times before. Then came back and said since it's only 2 people it should be okay. Soon after there was a table open in the corner of the patio and she asked if that was ok. We said yes and I thought she muttered something about it being ready momentarily. I confused that with "we will seat you momentarily" so we just stood there and waited. Then she came back 10 minutes later seeming rather annoyed that we hadn't gone and sat down, asking is this table not okay for you? I said yes and sorry, we were confused. I thought she might have wanted to clean it first - not that I wouldn't have sat down at a dirty table as we are not fussy or pretentious by any means, rather just grateful to be there. We sat down with the menus and made our selections, waiting for someone to come greet us and take our order. 20 minutes later and no one had come. Servers had some near our table to serve other Spanish speaking tables, but not ours. Finally sick of being polite and quiet Canadians, I raised my hand to get anyone's attention. Nothing. My fiancé and I agreed that if within 5 more minutes no one had come, we would leave. By 4 minute mark I literally shouted in the middle of the busy patio, HELLO??? AM I INVISIBLE??? Nothing. No one came. So we left. The kicker is wothin 30 seconds is the blond (and blind? Lol) waitress say another couple at our table who had drinks within 5 minutes!!!! Maybe this was all a series of honest mistakes, but it didn't feel like that. I was so sad, by now it was 11:30pm and all i had wanted was to have a wonderful last night of our honeymoon. Literally cried I was so hurt and confused why anyone would treat us so badly. This was also on the heels of getting wine randomly tossed on us from an above apartment balcony while a top a hop-on-hop-off bus in Barcelona. We later read that people of Barcelona rate tourism as a bigger problem than poverty. So I guess that explains is. Don't get me wrong, we also had great experiences there too. I just think you have to have thick skin and be aware you are not at home. I can't imagine Canadians treating tourists this way. read more

Did not like. Ordered the chicken ceasar salad but they told me they didn't have chicken so I ordered the empanadas instead. The chicken one was okay, the veggie one was so gross I couldn't even eat it all, and the meat one just tasted plain weird. Got that with a tinto de verano that ended up being 5€ for a tiny glass. Let's just say I was surprised when I saw the bill. Would not go back, way too expensive and really not that good. At least the staff was nice :) read more
