We have been seeing our speech therapist, Gabby, twice a week for sessions for approximately six months. Gabby is energetic, playful, and terrific with children, and my daughter (who is 2) loves her. We have also worked with Madeleine, Eliza, and Devon (as a secondary therapist in our daughter's sessions) and we think they are all wonderful. One of the biggest benefits for us was that this office accepts our insurance (Aetna) and submits claims on our behalf. I would also like to mention that our older daughter had a great experience in speech therapy here as well about 18 months ago. Ms. Chen does a great job finding the right therapists to work with children who are knowledgeable and caring. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone thinking about having their child tested for a speech delay!

My daughter's therapist is positive, engaging, and able to captivate my daughter's attention and effort such that she has been able to practice and make progress on the sounds that are challenging for her. This is a remarkable skill - especially when working on a skill that is innately challenging to a 3-4 year old. In the last year, the clarity of my daughter's speech has improved tremendously, and most importantly, she is a far more confident, happy girl as she is able to communicate effectively with friends, teachers, and family. She is happy attending and truly enjoys her speech sessions. Josephine and her therapists are professional, exceptionally well trained, kind and great at what they do. We feel so lucky to have found this gem and highly recommend this practice.

I suspected my daughter has reading disability since she was 2.5 yo. I had her evaluated by our…read moreschool district but the NY State evaluations did not show that she was at risk. Since her challenges are not obvious, it's been frustrating to have her challenges and my concerns dismissed by professionals and teachers. I am able to recognize them b/c I have a reading disability myself and observed many similar traits in her. I met Jacqueline Klein at a reading disability event and she was knowledgeable and insightful. I decided to have my daughter tested by TLC and Jackie immediately observed all the nuances /subtle challenges that my daughter has. Jackie provided us with thoughtful suggestions in dealing with the situation and working with the school district. Best of all, my daughter loves working with Jackie. Jackie is amazing at working with kids and keeping them engaged and entertained.

But it remains true that initially she had him working with different graduate students from week to week, and she did not discuss this with us first. We were charged the full amount as well. 2. I did ask for the worksheets to be sent to me, after discovering the website we'd been directed to wasn't working, but was told no by some of the therapists/students we'd worked with initially. Linda only stopped in briefly to check in during our sessions for the first month or so, and I barely had a chance to talk to her. Then when I did get to see Linda more and talked about the website not working, she told me to search for worksheets on Pinterest instead. I was very disappointed that this was her response. 3. If working on one sound at a time is standard, and having two sessions per week is also standard, I respect following that protocol. But neither Linda nor any of the therapists/students we worked with ever explained either of these issues to me as a treatment plan. In fact, we were told to expect the opposite, that his issues were minor and could be addressed with once weekly sessions in a limited time frame. In our last session, Linda expressed surprise at "discovering" another articulation issue. She said something like "Guess what we found," while as stated in my original review, this had already been identified in my son's initial evaluation. I've taken the time to compose these reviews only in hopes of sharing information with other parents seeking assistance for their children.

Her own frustration was manifested in aggression and she went into her own world quite frequently. Due to the skill, compassion and diligence that Linda has brought to my daughter, she has become a completely different little girl. She is no longer frustrated to the point of aggression, she is frequently able to have long conversations with us about what she had done, her likes, and her dislikes. She is able to communicate her needs effectively to us and is present to us in the moment. This business is a real gem in the Inwood community. In my experience with speech pathologists their dedication is phenomenal, whether being flexible to a family's schedule to providing acute advice. In short I would recommend Premium Therapy highly to any parent. Addressing a negative review I read - Dealing with speech development issues can be a taxing event to any parent and it is very plausible for one to direct their frustration where it is unwarranted. With that said I want to put forth the following as my experience with the staff: i) the multi-lingual staff has always afforded the parents the ability to choose the language to carry out the sessions in, ii) Based on my conversations with other parents that bring their children here: The manifestation of traits that would benefit from consultation by a specialist are communicated as feedback rather than a diagnosis, and iii) ) I've never seen a child diagnosed with a condition other than a speech related matter.

My experience with Premium Therapy Speech Services was rather disappointing. I took my child there…read morebecause when I asked the pediatrician what I could do about my child's speech delay she said I should have him evaluated. After calling the first time I was promised a call back for an appointment but after a few days I had to call back myself to ask again. Communication and organization was really not great. When I took my child there, I have to admit the place looked nice and people were welcoming. Well, appearances can be deceptive. After the paid evaluation took place, I had to call three times (again !) to get a report which was useless because it didn't take into account (and admitted so) the multilingual aspect. After that bad experience I researched a little bit about speech therapy and found out that a child's vocabulary had to be evaluated by adding the words in all languages. Anyway, to make a long story short I took my child to another therapist a couple of months later and my child has progressed a lot. He started Pre-K in a bilingual school in September and his speech has improved a lot in both languages. PS : Any reviewer who claims any business is the best in the 5 boroughs either is lying or hasn't seen a lot of New York. It's fine for a pizza place but a child's speech development is serious matter.

This review was long overdue. I took my son ( who was then 2-3 years old) here for speech therapy…read morea few years ago. First time they let me in to sit with him in a tiny room. My son was fine. After that they took him in alone. Each week we went he was more hesitant to go in. Last time we were there my son was crying and wanted to come out (I could hear well) and therapist really forced him to stay. For this age I think that is traumatic. I also heard other older children ( with learning difficulties ) crying during therapy but mostly nannies are with these kids so parent might not even know it. It should never be traumatizing! I am writing this after so long because I still feel angry to myself that didn't stand up for my child, I was an inexperienced parent.

Went for an initial consult, PT wrote up a report with the wrong name for my daughter and wrong facts - like we were there with our nanny. Complete waste of money and time and PT kept trying to get us to get her lip tie cut when we were there to deal with mild tort (we also went to two pediatricians who said she didn't even have a lip tie). Unprofessional.

His…read moretherapists were dedicated, smart, creative and thoughtful in their approach to working with my child. The growth he made in terms of his sensory challenges, and his fine and gross motor planning, was remarkable. The office staff are top-notch. They advocated fervently for my son's care, and were always available to answer questions and offer additional support. Marianne Rho, herself an OT and owner/manager of CTD has done an exemplary job of creating an agency that provides the best quality-care in the field. Bravo!
