But it remains true that initially she had him working with different graduate students from week to week, and she did not discuss this with us first. We were charged the full amount as well. 2. I did ask for the worksheets to be sent to me, after discovering the website we'd been directed to wasn't working, but was told no by some of the therapists/students we'd worked with initially. Linda only stopped in briefly to check in during our sessions for the first month or so, and I barely had a chance to talk to her. Then when I did get to see Linda more and talked about the website not working, she told me to search for worksheets on Pinterest instead. I was very disappointed that this was her response. 3. If working on one sound at a time is standard, and having two sessions per week is also standard, I respect following that protocol. But neither Linda nor any of the therapists/students we worked with ever explained either of these issues to me as a treatment plan. In fact, we were told to expect the opposite, that his issues were minor and could be addressed with once weekly sessions in a limited time frame. In our last session, Linda expressed surprise at "discovering" another articulation issue. She said something like "Guess what we found," while as stated in my original review, this had already been identified in my son's initial evaluation. I've taken the time to compose these reviews only in hopes of sharing information with other parents seeking assistance for their children.

Her own frustration was manifested in aggression and she went into her own world quite frequently. Due to the skill, compassion and diligence that Linda has brought to my daughter, she has become a completely different little girl. She is no longer frustrated to the point of aggression, she is frequently able to have long conversations with us about what she had done, her likes, and her dislikes. She is able to communicate her needs effectively to us and is present to us in the moment. Linda has just been such a gift in life for my daughter! 5 stars are way too little for this superstar speech pathologist.

The office does not provide regular updates on my child's progress or return my phone calls, does not provide records when requested (likely HIPAA violation as a report upon request is not considered a full copy of records), and will not provide accurate billing necessary for insurance claims - a red flag the therapist has licensure issues. It took termination of services to get a correct superbill for my insurance after nearly three months without success, with the therapist cancelling all future sessions without having consulted with me, and claiming by email that she was offering a "discount" on therapy. Without providing a sound or documented reason why, the therapist is also pushing to have my son misdiagnosed by the city's early intervention program (the case workers from early intervention STRONGLY disagreed there were any issues) in order to continue billing us for appointments. This place only cares about lining its pockets, not advocating for your kids as they advertise.

In short I would recommend Premium Therapy highly to any parent. Addressing a negative review I read - Dealing with speech development issues can be a taxing event to any parent and it is very plausible for one to direct their frustration where it is unwarranted. With that said I want to put forth the following as my experience with the staff: i) the multi-lingual staff has always afforded the parents the ability to choose the language to carry out the sessions in, ii) Based on my conversations with other parents that bring their children here: The manifestation of traits that would benefit from consultation by a specialist are communicated as feedback rather than a diagnosis, and iii) ) I've never seen a child diagnosed with a condition other than a speech related matter.

After calling the first time I was promised a call back for an appointment but after a few days I had to call back myself to ask again. Communication and organization was really not great. When I took my child there, I have to admit the place looked nice and people were welcoming. Well, appearances can be deceptive. After the paid evaluation took place, I had to call three times (again !) to get a report which was useless because it didn't take into account (and admitted so) the multilingual aspect. After that bad experience I researched a little bit about speech therapy and found out that a child's vocabulary had to be evaluated by adding the words in all languages. Anyway, to make a long story short I took my child to another therapist a couple of months later and my child has progressed a lot. He started Pre-K in a bilingual school in September and his speech has improved a lot in both languages. PS : Any reviewer who claims any business is the best in the 5 boroughs either is lying or hasn't seen a lot of New York. It's fine for a pizza place but a child's speech development is serious matter.

I decided to have my daughter tested by TLC and Jackie immediately observed all the nuances /subtle challenges that my daughter has.
