I always feel so much better after I leave. He does manual adjusting - not just using the clicker which I love.

I was shopping for a gym. I want to be transparent about what that process looked like for a person…read morein my situation, which is a person who has never belonged to a gym, has no framework for evaluating gyms, and was operating on the assumption that gyms were broadly similar to each other in the way that parking lots are broadly similar to each other. I was wrong about this. I am getting ahead of myself. I stopped in unannounced. No appointment. No warning. I simply appeared, in the way that people appear when they have made a decision in a parking lot and are acting on it before the decision changes its mind. I was prepared to look at a brochure, take a pamphlet and leave with the information I needed to continue not joining a gym for several more weeks. Christina was at the front. I want to be specific about what happened next because I think it matters and because I have been to places where walking in unannounced produces an expression on the face of the staff that communicates, with considerable efficiency, that your timing is inconvenient. That expression did not appear. Christina was genuinely pleased to see me, or performed genuine pleasure with such commitment that I cannot tell the difference. She offered a full tour. Not a partial tour. Not a gesture toward the general area of the equipment. A full tour, conducted with the calm enthusiasm of a person who likes where they work and wants you to understand why. She showed me everything. The gym itself, which is well-equipped and does not feel like a place that has been arranged to photograph well and experienced differently. The class spaces, which are large enough to suggest that the classes are a genuine offering and not an afterthought. The women-only gym, which is a separate dedicated space and not simply a corner with a curtain. I mention this because the distinction matters and because I was not expecting it and because the thoughtfulness of that decision tells you something about how this particular gym thinks about the people who use it. She explained the programs. She explained the membership options. She explained what each thing included, what it cost and what it did not include, in language I could follow without needing to ask her to repeat herself. There were no contracts. I want to note that I asked about this directly because I am a person who has read enough about gym memberships to know that the contract conversation is where things sometimes become uncomfortable. It did not become uncomfortable. There were no contracts. She said it plainly. I believed her. That was the whole conversation. I did not feel at any point that I was bothering her. This sounds like a low bar. It is not a low bar. It is, in my experience of showing up to places unannounced with questions, a bar that is cleared less often than you would hope. I asked about personal trainers. I was expecting to be handed a list of names and left to make a decision I had no qualifications to make. What actually happened was that she explained a process. Someone would call me. They would talk with me about what I was looking for. They would match me with a trainer who was a good fit for my specific situation. I want to be clear that I received this information with polite skepticism because it sounded like the kind of thing people say when they want you to feel good about a decision you have not yet made. They called. They asked the right questions. They matched me with Lexi Bata. I have now had fifteen sessions with Lexi Bata and I am filling every available review slot on every platform that will accept text, which should tell you something about how the matching process went. Christina told me they would find me a great fit. I did not fully believe her. She was right. I am documenting this publicly because she deserves the credit and because I think it is important to tell people when something worked exactly the way someone said it would. Proximal 50 North is a good gym. Christina is a reason to walk in. The matching process is a reason to stay. Stop in unannounced if you want. I did. It worked out.

Nice, clean, spacious workout studio. The layout is a little weird. I took a spin class and there…read morewas only a speaker in the front and it was hard to hear the teacher. Good workout however. Also The workout room up stairs is very narrow and mirrors are poorly placed. The view is awesome when the sun isn't blinding your eyes. They need to pay attention to a few more details before I think about joining.

I whole-heartedly recommend Dr. Martiré as well his entire staff at the Spine and Pain Center. Although I had moved from the Bismarck area almost 3 years ago and now live 4 1/2 hours from Bismarck, I continue to retain his services. My diagnosis/care plan requisits I be seen at minimum every 3 months for continued care; and although I have the best medical insurance 'out there'; I diligently make a looong trip to Bismarck every 3 months in order to present in-person. Additionally; although my insurance is in-fact quite 'robust', its submitter ID is also quite 'robust' in its many, many clauses, etc., etc. which (I'm sure) has to be virtual nightmare for Dr. Martiré's staff especially and specifically Tara who's job it is to submit everything to fulfill those many, many clauses -- yet, when I see her she still greets me with a (genuine, I'm sure) bright smile. *If I were her I would probably lock the front doors when seeing me coming! Here's sending a BIG THANK YOU you to Dr. Martiré and his professional staff!

After nearly a decade of seeing Dr. Martire (and years of seeing Heidi for PT), I was treated VERY…read moredisrespectfully, yelled at, belittled, and discharged from his practice -- INCLUDING PHYSICAL THERAPY -- simply because I asked about submitting paperwork for additional PT versus taking pain pills. Dr. Martire was jumping around in his chair, getting in my face to intimidate and belittle me, and yelling at me. I have never been treated that way before -- ESPECIALLY BY A PHYSICIAN! I am a nurse and have seen similar behavior in addicts, and I truly wonder if he was on something. I have always felt as if Dr. Martire didn't want me to ask any questions during his very brief appts -- like he wanted me to just shut up and take the pain pills. I told him during our very first visit that I would prefer NOT to be on pain meds for the rest of my life, if possible. I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis -- which is EXTREMELY painful and currently has no cure. It took me 15 YEARS to get a diagnosis because doctors WOULDN'T LISTEN TO ME, and that led to irreversible damage and chronic pain. It is very disheartening to feel that way -- again -- and to feel like your doctor doesn't care about you GETTING BETTER because then they won't make money off shoving pain pills down your throat. I thought Heidi and I had even developed a friendship throughout my years of therapy with her, but she was very rude about filling out an insurance form to approve more visits. She said she's never done that before, and I would have to find another provider. My plan of care should be PERSONALIZED, so it really doesn't matter what she has or hasn't done before. It would be expected that you do new/different things for different patients -- especially one with a disease that we are still trying to understand. I am very hurt by how I was treated by Dr. Martire and Heidi. The gals at the front and the gal in billing are all very kind and I have nothing bad to say about them. They spent time they didn't have to getting the proper paperwork so my visits wouldn't be denied . . . only for Dr. Martire to discharge me AND cancel my physical therapy appointments. To me, that doesn't sound like a doctor who actually wants to you get better. I WOULD NOT RECOMMENDED EITHER DR. MARTIRE OR HEIDI FOLD AT THE SPINE AND PAIN CENTER.

FLOATING WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!!!!!The moment I met Andrea my life is forever changed she is truly…read morethe most loving healer, compassionate, a true healer with the purest heart I have ever met... she's the kind of person we should strive to become she's one in a million!!! I booked a float therapy session for my husband and I.... Andrea was so sweet to offer us to make it a two day float so we were able to experience both pools they are slightly different and we tried different things each day.... she also gave us the most amazing preview of her massage Therapy techniques we are still on cloud nine from the short time with her.... her voice is so soothing and reassuring and her hands are so comforting i say they are magical lol, she literally was speaking to our bodies and left us warm and glowing and pain free, it topped the whole experience that turned into the best couples healing retreat date weekend we have ever had.... I can't say it and shout it enough; you are missing out if your not floating.... As soon as we walked in it felt like we were home!!! I have done a ton of research on float therapy and it took me awhile to convince my very manly ( I'm not doing that ever mans man ) but I finally did lol... he's now a true believer and it has helped him and I in huge ways. I was mainly looking for something to help my chronic pain and my hubby who is just worn and beat down from working months without days off with his demanding job in the oilfield's.... he literally is bent over in pain crawling into his truck every morning at 3am.... After making it priority to make sure we do float sessions every time he's off it has changed his pain and mine drastically.... and not to mention the float zen you feel for at least a couple of weeks after your float sessions.... it's addicting for sure lol!!!! Float therapy has actually helped with my argument that he needs to take days off more frequently (we agreed not working more than six weeks without a day off) that's a huge win for me lol.... Floating as a couple has made huge improvements in our marriage being in a close intimate space were you can let your mind and body free is worth the experience alone, it's a perfect way to have a romantic date or make it weekend date with your partner, LADIES GET YOUR MEN FLOATING!!!!! We started our float adventure in pods and didn't care for the pod floating but fell in love with floating immediately!!!! After more researching i found that there were places who offered float pools that are wide open with a shower in the same room as your pool with the option to float as a couple so i stated seeking those places that offered float pools, we were in another state and found float pools so we were excited to find Andrea had the same float pools in our state and only about 150 miles from home so it made for a perfect three day weekend getaway close to home for us.... we have made floating a huge part of our healing and over all wellness routines. What made our experience with Andrea so unique and amazing was the different options that were not offered at other float pool establishments: light therapy, aromatherapy oils/candles, sound therapy, floating devices aka pool noodles etc. .... don't let the fear of float therapy being thought of as only sensory deprivation in a dark small place scare you into missing out of experiencing a healing of your body, mind and soul. That's not what float therapy is all about there are so many other options that Andrea opened up for us with a number of things to try.... we loved our float therapy sessions and our time with Andrea she gives you many different ways to experience float therapy and freedom to not feel uncomfortable about not wanting to lay alone in total darkness if you don't want that type of experience. She offered many ideas and things I wished would have been available at the other places we did float sessions. Together we tried several things during our session and discussed our experiences with her.... it can be if you want the traditional sensory deprivation float but knowing you can try other things she can offer you during your float session is awesome and can make your session that much more amazing. The pool rooms are very clean and roomy with a private shower for before and after your session.... We can't wait to go back and are signing up for the membership program even though we don't live in Bismarck it's worth it and affordable.... think of things that you could go without to be able have a float therapy membership that will change your life in the most positive ways. We can't wait to go back!!!! Thank you so much Andrea for give us the most amazing time with you and your awesome float pools!!!! You're truly a light worker and such an amazing person and you genuinely want to help people not be in pain.... if only more massage therapist's, float therapy establishments and the medical field could learn from you it could change peoples lives
