I stayed here for a professional conference. This center is associated with the Holiday Inn across the street. The hotel room comes with all your standard amenities and is quite clean. Every room has a balcony in case you need to get some air. Central air system is outdated but works fine. I had no problems with getting the heat to work. Tubs are moderate in size and hold water pretty well if you're into taking baths. Shampoo, conditioner and lotion are all bath and beyond brand. I also enjoyed the Krueger coffee machine. You can always ask for more capsules if needed. Our organization used the catering services for a continental breakfast, Italian style lunch, and a boxed lunch. All were satisfactory, except for the breakfast because it was so meager. Facility itself is outdated but has that rustic charm and is kept clean in general. Conference rooms are well lit but you may need to turn off the front lights in smaller rooms to get the project to pop out more. Overall I had a good experience here. read more

The fourth floor is a no frills economy hotel. It's nicer than a Motel 6-type setting but I really regret staying here. I wish I stayed at the Holiday Inn which is just a quick walk across the street. The Fogelman Executive Center just feels so drab. It depressed me to stay here, big time! There was one moment when I went across the street to the Holiday Inn to pick up some friends and I noticed there was music playing in the lobby. That moment reminded me of how depressing the Executive Center was. If you're just staying one night, two max, then it's probably fine. But if you're here for a conference spanning several days it's probably worth it to check into the Holiday Inn. You'll feel more energized, social, and cared for. It's worth noting that any staff I came across was really nice. However, like another commenter mentioned, the front desk typically just has a sign up that says Please go across the street for service. That's a little unsettling. It would suck to have to need somebody in the middle of the night and have to go across the street! read more

I mean, it's an office...Nothing too different than what you're used to. I'm not quite sure why Josh R wrote a review about the Holiday Inn across the street...this place is NOT the hotel. This is the main office portion of the Fogelman School of Business on campus at U of Memphis. Pretty quiet for the most part, and well staffed. I was able to get in and out with my adviser with little interruption or wait time. Great place, helpful staff! read more

According to Jeremy at the front desk at the Holiday Inn across the street, this is their sister property. Holiday Inn -Univ. of Memphis overbooked their hotel (I really don't understand overbooking...) and we ended up in this dormitory/office building). The first night, the heat did not come on. I was so uncomfortable cold that I slept in my clothes. The water was never hot enough although it was turned up to over 100 degrees. I did like the dual water showers if the hotel had hot water. The front desk was ran by a sign advising to go to another room for help. Yes, I needed help...the heat did not kick in, the water was hardly lukewarm, my key was not working,.... I gave the Holiday Inn one star which is way too much. I give The Foglemann, their sister hotel, two stars because there was an employee named Gloria who was Head of Housekeeping. She made sure that my co-worker got coffee in the morning, got me some cups for ice and made sure I got into my room when my key wasn't working. Kudos to Gloria. read more

Yeah this place pretty much sucked as a hotel. The key didn't work multiple times throughout the week, they finally replaced my actuator. Other people at this conference had the same problem. My main light didn't work in my room. My sink ran continuously. The rooms all have drop ceilings, it obviously wasn't intended to be a hotel. The actual meeting rooms were good though, and the catered food they prepare for lunches and dinners are pretty solid for a hotel. If you are planning an event here, have your attendees stay across the street at the holiday inn (they run the fogelman too), the rooms are bigger and nicer. read more

For the price I paid the room was fine. No fridge or microwave. The bed was comfortable and it had hot water. Nice overall.
