It is easy to mistakenly believe that this is Michelangelo's house. In fact it is that of his great nephew and Michelangelo never occupied the building. Apart from two reliefs done by the great artist when he was about 15 years old and a small number of his sketches (five) there is not much of interest. That is the opinion of someone who has a genuine interest in the artist and owns a number of books of his work.
What made the visit really unpleasant was the attention of the docent. It seemed that my wife and I were singled out, closely followed from room to room and examined for the entirety of our visit. Very distracting, very rude and probably ineffective as a general security measure. I've visited a few hundred museums and never had this occur before. Other reviewers on Trip Advisor had the same experience so this was not an isolated incident.
Not recommended. I would instead suggest the lovely Bargello sculpture museum which has a lower admission fee and also contains more of interest for the majority of Florence visitors. read more
