The atmosphere is gorgeous and I thoroughly enjoyed the bunny enclosure view, they were adorable. Very cozy and intimate but plenty of space for plates. With it's friendly service, good food and amazing ambiance, it was my favorite restaurant of our trip. We decided to order the Raclette and the Truffle Butter Fondue (39 CHF). The raclette was served with boiled potatoes and it was really fun being able to watch your own raclette melting at your table on the melter. While I enjoyed the raclette, I enjoyed the Truffle Butter Fondue even more. It was served with pieces of baguette bread and the fondue was so creamy and flavorful. It definitely had a strong truffle flavor which I really enjoyed. Just as enjoyable as the food was the ambiance. Chasalp is located on a hill overlooking Zurich so you have a nice view of the city as you walk from the parking lot to the restaurant. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available but with how beautiful the scenery was, we definitely had to sit outside. Cows roam around the lush green grass as you enjoy your meal and everything feels so peaceful and serene. Our servers were very friendly and helpful and checked on us often to make sure everything was okay. While we didn't have any kids with us, the outdoor space also looked to be kid-friendly with a nearby swing set for children to use along with crayons and drawing sheets at the table to keeps kids occupied. I had such a wonderful and relaxing experience and definitely recommend it if you're in Zurich and looking for a delicious fondue option.

Unless you don't mind eating outside in the dark with all the smokers. Second....expect to wait a long time. This isn't a fast food restaurant so grab a beer and wait 45/60 min to get your food. Third... Switzerland is very expensive so this restaurant is no different. 2 burgers, 2 alcoholic drinks, and French fries were 98CHF which is pretty much 100 bucks. They have 3 sauces for you to try. Ketchup- Tasted like marinara sauce. BBQ- Tasted like smokey ketchup. 1000 island. Tasted normal. Burgers were great. They were juicy and delicious. Animal Style French Fries were a good try. Def not like the original but so far from home it was a nice find. This restaurant isn't for Americans. Way too expensive for what we eat all the time but I compare this place to the Melting Pot in the US. That place is so overpriced but it's amazing to get your cheese fondue fix. I can't imagine Swiss people coming to the US and eating at our expensive version of cheese fondue. Service was ok. It was super busy so can't really complain but I could tell our waiter was super annoyed with our audacity of showing up , with no reservation, and willingness to wait. And for some dumb reason you can't order "The Threesome" (or Hattrick) with a group of 5 people. 4 apparently is ok but we had 5. Cannot imagine why if 3 people order the same thing it's an inconvenience for the restaurant but DON'T DO IT or again your waiter will show his annoyance.

As it was our first time eating raclette, we asked our server to walk us through the menu. Lily was exceedingly helpful in explaining the differences in cheeses and their flavors, and she was also very attentive and checked in on us throughout the meal. I noticed that her welcoming demeanor was also shared by her colleagues who were waiting on the other tables around us. My family took Lily up on her recommendations, and we ordering one Klara and one Willi, each with a side of sausages, as well as one original tarte flambé and one vegi tarte flambée. The food was all very delicious!! My personal highlights from the meal were the sausage dipped in the Willi cheese along with the onions and potatoes that were served with the dish. The tartes also had very thin, yummy crusts topped with raclette cheese. The side of pickles provided a tangy contrast to the rest of the meal which I liked. We ended our meal with a warm chocolate cake and lemon sorbet. I'm not really one for alcohol, so I found the vodka in the sorbet to be a bit too strong for me. However, the chocolate cake with the jam and vanilla ice cream was very good and had just the right amount of chewiness. I wish that I could replace my local Cheesecake Factory with a Raclette Factory instead so that I could enjoy Swiss cheese melted over bread, sausages, and potatoes all the time. Oh well, perhaps it's just another excuse to visit Switzerland again one day :)

All of our food was delicious, but I will say that the garlic bread is SUPER garlicky so depends on how much you like garlic and want to smell like garlic for the rest of your day.

Zurich, Switzerland Great Local Supermarket Near Our…read moreAirbnb! We had just arrived in Zurich and needed some essentials ~ shampoo, conditioner, water, snacks, and of course, some beer. Luckily, this supermarket was just a short walk from our Airbnb. The store is well-stocked with everything from fresh produce to ready-to-eat meals. We were pleasantly surprised to find a machine that makes fresh orange juice on the spot - my SO was so impressed, he grabbed one right away! I wandered over to the chocolate aisle and was absolutely overwhelmed (in the best way). They had good deals too. So many options! I had a tough time deciding what to bring back for friends. You can pay with either card or cash, and we found the employees friendly and speaks good English. The store was never crowded during any of our visits, which made shopping even more pleasant. Definitely a convenient and well-run spot if you're staying nearby! It's very near the train station. It's clean and organized.

Yelp Review 2026 #73:…read more This Coop is big and has everything. It's within walking distance from my hotel so it was very convenient to stop here and get snacks and drinks. It's open early and open til late (6am-10pm is late). They're one of the few businesses that's open on Sundays. Switzerland is known to be the most expensive country to visit which is absolutely true. Most go to Coop as a "hack" by buying food here instead of going to restaurants. Food is affordable here. They have deli meats, jamon Iberico, baked goods, arancini, cakes, pastries, pizza, sushi, sashimi, cups/ bowls of fruit, etc. I came here the first time to grab snacks like chips, Barebells and drinks. They were giving away protein shakes right next to the checkout counters. You do have to pay for shopping bags. If you need utensils, you have to pay for that too. The second time I was here was to get bandaids. The staff was helpful in pointing me to the right direction. Third visit was to compare prices for chocolates. I got Lindt chocolates for cheaper at Lindt Home of Chocolate.
