During a phone consultation with Dr Porter where I shared concerns of cervical cancer, dr Porter…read moreinvited me to her practice for a check up. Given I'm not a regular patient, that was kind. When I arrived, she was standing at the front desk and told the secretary to tell me I'm too late and she can't take me. While standing in front of me, not making eye contact with me. which was weird. so I rebooked, when I rebooked, I arrived on time, but it took 3 mins for me to speak to the receptionist, who told me that Dr Porter had left a note on my file that I had to rebook due to being 3 min late. I find that very unprofessional. I asked to speak with her for a moment, and the receptionist went to the back to ask her to come out, but then he said she refused and wouldn't speak to me. she was hiding in the back. never going back there.

I am a patient of Dr Porter, and followed her from her other site. Several appointments for my son and I have been cancelled and rebooked. Now, when having an actual medical concern, the emergency dept. or 811 appear to be my only option (as 10 day wait for online calls for infections etc. won't work when trying to avoid hospitalization or early death). Even an annual physical has become just blood pressure and a sheet for lab work 1-2 months out, which is workable as long as I don't have any real serious health issues. I am increasingly worried that the entire healthcare system is collapsing . . . possibly this clinic is simply in the same mess as the rest of the system. Shouldn't there be a focus on actual "health care", and an effort to avoid hospitalization?
