It had been a while since I visited Kim's Vietnamese, and I got here only to discover that it's closed down and now this is in its place. The place has been renovated, but given they are both Vietnamese I wonder if there is a relation? It was not nearly as busy as Kim's, which always had a long queue at lunchtime, but it definitely seems more Vietnamese, as Kim's had a big Chinese takeout type offering too. I ordered 3 spring rolls and a special pho. I thought both were pretty good and authentic! The spring rolls were cheaper than the going rate in the area, £3 vs the usual £4.25 or so, but they didn't come with lettuce or mint to wrap them in, but instead was on a bed of shredded carrot and lettuce. I thought the special pho was very nice and they were very generous with the amount of meat in it. Vietnamese food is a very competitive market on the City lunch scene, but this is not a bad option! read more
