The $5.50 meal deal order includes cod fish, chips, mushy peas, and coffee or tea. A side order of homemade tartar sauce is about 50 p. The cod fish was fresh, crispy but not oily, and big portion. The staff are all excellent and the pub landlord runs a very tight ship which is what makes it such a great place to go. This is why when you go in you will find all age ranges from young to old. The food was luke warm, the pasta dish had obviously been kept warm and was dried out so that was sent back but not re ordered, and the potato wedges were soggy. To add insult to injury we were then over charged. In fairness to the staff they did the best they could and remained polite throughout but they lost 8 customers that night half price vouchers or not.

The ratio of meat / noodle & veg. however was disproportionate (not enough meat!!). I would have preferred to pay £4.80, rather than £5.90 with this consideration in mind. Hopefully, honest regular customer feedback might help management reassess this particular dish with regard to the ingredient's proportions. I do recommend this chippy to friends, but feel I have to include my own experiences which I believe qualify the recommendation.
