The one thing my mum looks for when she come visiting to Glasgow is a nice wee cafe to get a proper lunch for my niece (Smurf). In typical mum/granny fashion, this always involves a bowl of soup.
I suggested here as it is across the road from my work and would allow me to spend my lunch hour with them.
By the time I got in, Smurf was tucking into a massive bowl of lentil soup, with a smile across her face. I'm not saying she's fussy, but she definitely knows what she likes and you can't persuade her otherwise. We both ordered toasties too: cheese and onion for me, and ham for Smurf. These were lovely, just the right amount of filling and perfectly toasted. Mum was a bit disappointed that they weren't made in an actual toastie machine, but that is just because she's old and hadn't ordered toasties in cafes since the 1990s.
I've ordered a few times from here before, just as a takeaway but this was the first time is sat in. The staff were polite and friendly, and it got the seal off approval from mum and Smurf too.
Definitely a winner from us. read more
