Foodie Friday takes place on the last Friday of every month in Stockport's market place and market hall. The architecture around here is very attractive and it's a nice place to hang out, although I 100% concur about the music being too loud - totally pointless and annoying. The other thing I think they could improve is to set out more seating in the market hall in case it's cold outside.
The event ends at 9pm and you will need to be there by 8pm to be sure of having a good choice of food. There's good pizza, Malaysian, cheese and other street food such as burritos, BBQ, kebabs, churros and burgers although apparently the Thai wasn't very good. There's enough choice for repeat trips, especially as some of the traders change
Although it ends at 9pm you have a really good choice of nearby pubs making it worth the trip - Bakers Vaults is right there and Arden Arms is close by too. Slightly further away, the Stockport ale jewels the Crown Inn and the Magnet are well worth a short walk. read more
