I ordered delivery from here on a Friday night through the thuisbezorgd app, and I got a…read moreconfirmation message that they got my order, a message with an ETA for food arrival (30 minutes) which was pretty accurate, and another message when the food was ready and on its way. I was pleased with all the communication I received, since I was never left guessing where my food was or when we could eat. As for the food, it was pretty good too. My husband ordered the fried rice (nasi) with chicken satay covered in peanut sauce, and I liked his dish better than my own, since the fried rice was spot on and tasted just like the fried rice I used to order in Chicago. I have been searching for that exact kind of fried rice here for over 3 years, and I finally found it! The chicken pieces on the satay were kind of dry, but I didn't mind that so much. I was totally in love with the fried rice, with my addition of spicy mustard. Nom nom nom. I ordered a chicken roti speciaal with extra sauce, and they were serious about the 'extra sauce' part, as my chicken and green beans and potatoes were swimming in a watery gravy in the takeout tub. The roti kind of fell apart and had some corn meal leaking out of it, so I don't know if it's supposed to do that or not, but it seemed a little weird. But it was all good. I would have liked the normal amount of sauce in hindsight, since I think the flavors would have been stronger. As it was I employed the little bags of spicy sauce they provided to boost the flavors. We also ordered a half roast chicken, and that was moist and warm but it felt like it was pumped full of salt or preservatives or something so that it seemed a little processed. But it came pre-sliced which was convenient, and it was a great source of protein. We were both well impressed and were eating until we were past full, it was all so good. We tried to eat it all but couldn't. It made great leftovers for the rest of the weekend, though. I will definitely be ordering from this place again in the future.

Authentic Dim Sum in the Heart of Amsterdam If you are looking for authentic Chinese flavors near…read morethe Red Light District/Chinatown, Oriental City is the place to go. It's a multi-level restaurant that stays packed during prime hours, which is always a good sign for the food quality. They serve Dim Sum all day, which is a huge plus. The flavors are very traditional. While the Dim Sum was solid across the board, the Beef Chow Fun was the absolute standout--perfectly prepared with that signature "wok hei" (breath of the wok). The staff isn't necessarily warm and fuzzy, but they are efficient. Don't expect a long chat, but you'll get your food quickly. Be prepared for a bit of a climb; the restaurant spans several floors and it appears to be stairs-only. It gets very crowded, so timing your visit is key. A must-visit for Chinese food fans in Amsterdam. Just be ready for a lively, busy environment!

This particular restaurant satisfied my craving for Asian food, located next to the Red Light District. Service was very helpful and friendly, food was just as good! Was also interesting to see the Asian staff speak Norwegian also to other customers. Great place to get your Asian food fix when traveling here.

Adorning one of the walls are solar powered neko cats that wave to you from the window. On the walls are interesting art pieces, one in particular with instructions on how best to enjoy ramen. Serving us most the night was the main chef himself who observed us smile with ease at every first bite we took of each dish served. The food was quite good. Small portioned with intentions to share with others; three to four dishes are plenty for a party of two. We were starving so we ordered quite a bit. Sashimi was okay, nothing worth raving about. However, they did have two types of soy sauce for sashimi. They had the traditional Kikkoman soy sauce which is often used for sushi and sashimi and then they had the Shibanuma soy, which was ever so slightly thicker and sweeter IMO. The Shibanuma is meant intentionally to be tasted with sushi and sashimi, not to be cooked with as the server mentioned. It was tasty, most defintely. Honorable mentions were the mongolian beef stew, which came piping hot and delicious. Picture does not do the dish justice. Meat was fall apart tender, full of spice and flavor. Probably best paired with a neutral side, like white rice but we got stir fried udon noodles instead. Udon noodles were delicious as well. Simple yet well made. Noodles had good chew to them and came out piping hot. Overall, nice restaurant to try out if you're in East Amsterdam by oosterpark and craving good variety asian food.
