House made jam is a real treat

With a North Westerly Aspect, this cafe is located perfectly for a spot of brunch, lunch or dinner. This was my first visit, and as I only popped in for a coffee, I can't say too much right now, but the menu looked delicious, and the coffee was good. So I'll be be going all "Governator" on this place too!

I had high expectations reading reviews and friend's recommendations. However, I was bitterly disappointed. 3 tiny burnt pancakes that wasn't properly cooked on the inside for $17?! The pancakes at Maccas are better. The Baconator was also average. We were still hungry after and had to go another place to have a meal. The service was quick and friendly, perhaps I just got them on an off day in the kitchen but I won't be returning anytime soon.

Toasted Cubanos! Meat lovers dream...

What a surprise! Nothing about this place alludes to the amazing Latin American inspired menu on offer. Not the name, nor the decor. It's a small place, with a misleading shop front. From the outside I was pretty sure it was nothing but a milk bar. Walking in there's a surprising amount of space for eating in and seating for those waiting on take away orders. And big windows mean there's plenty of light. It was a really comfortable place to sit, relax and over eat while reading a good book. I'm not typically a meat eater. I am definitely an omnivore, but chicken and bacon are my usual go to meat products. What led me to order the meat filled Toasted Cubanos when my favourite avo on toast was available? Inspiration from the movie Chef. That movie made excessive amounts of meat with cheese look delicious! And it was! The sandwich comes with porketa, ham, chipotle mayo, tomato relish and gruyere cheese. EPIC! I'm drooling just thinking about if again. The menu also included huevos rancheros and corn cakes with guacamole which I'll be back to try out!! As usual I enjoyed a hot chocolate, although they have Padre coffee which I've heard is very good. The hot chocolate is a must try. Wonderfully sweet, with a little bit of spice and cinnamon! Delicious! Can't wait to head back there and make my way through the menu.

Was in the area and thought we'd drop in for breakie. Cute little establishment bordering on the hipster look and green. Limited menu with some nice selections. However if you would like any extras with your meal it's $5 a pop - a bit over priced. Ordered the breakfast Brioche, which first impression on the mismatched places wasn't very appealing. However it was a tasty burger for $11 (no extras). Staff a nice and friendly.

What a super sweet little gem, tucked in Footscray's back streets! I went for a very early weekday breakfast, and everything was very, very good. The Huevos Rancheros was really yummy and an interesting take on the dish; perfectly poached eggs with a sprinkling of cheese, nestled in corn chip baskets and surrounded by delicious refried beans, coriander and yoghurt. There were some great flavours in there (although a little seasoning was needed). It was a large-ish serve, it wasn't heavy or too rich; I finished the lot without a hint of my usual 'I-hate-my-life-and-am-filled-with-regret' feeling that accompanies a big egg breakfast. My friend had the quinoa porridge with fresh papaya, coriander and coconut cream, and that looked amazing. Would definitely it that next time.

Exactly what I need from a breakfast cafe. Don't let the outside turn you off, this place is serving the goods. I had the brioche bacon and egg burger.. I don't have the words to describe it. The guacamole was perfect seasoned, and the egg was perfectly runny. Probably my best breakfast in Melbourne - so far. Check it out if you're in Footscray.

Haven't been for ages! Was disappointed the egg and bacon brioche had sold out and that they don't stock almond milk. Anyways, I tried the quinoa porridge for $12 with a side of honey and it was delicious! We also had scrambled eggs on GF toast with bacon, that was also delicious. We asked for the eggs to be scrambled well and it was done to perfection. Nice and clean joint with friendly wait and counter staff! Give it a go!

I think The barista was lazy and gave us skim milk instead of full cream in one of our coffees. :(

And with…read morethat kind of skill, it's no wonder that his bread graces the tables of some of Melbourne's top Good Food Guide Hatted restaurants and fashionable cafes. The breads are sourdough leavened which means they are not coeliac friendly. My favourites are the whole grain sourdough, baguettes, Pain de Mie (brioche loaf), chocolate Viennoise and the garlic sourdough that has whole cloves of sweet roasted garlic. Noisette in my opinion make the best and most authentic, flaky, buttery croissant and Pain au Chocolat. Also on offer are hand made chocolates, beautiful patisserie: cakes - individual and occasion sized - macarons, danish, tarts, sable breton, brownies and more. Something that makes Noisette unique is speciality items made for French festive calendar events like Galette des Rois and Buche de Noel. David was one of the Patissier/ Boulangeres that came to Australia to start up Laurent, so you may see a similarity in the sandwiches, filled baguettes and Croque Monsieur. But I think they are much better value here plus half portions are available. You can practice your French on the cheery staff and they happen to make a decent coffee too. Is it any wonder I've been a regular since they opened?

As delicious as everything looked, we ultimately ended up splitting a BBQ platter for 1 with some pork ribs added on... and it was still sooooo much food that we left stuffed! All the meat was great, but we both agreed the pork ribs were our favorite. Outside of that, the beef rib and oink ball also stood out. One other thing that really stood out to us, was their sauces. They were fantastic! Not just what they use to cook their meats, but the side sauces. Nuclear wave was a nice habanero sauce with great smokiness and solid heat that paired perfectly with the meats. They have happy hour on certain drinks from open until 6pm on certain days, so be sure to pair a beer with it!

Such a blunt but exceptional approach worthy of the rating I gave it. Onion rings were crunchy and impressive. Wings were beuitiful. The sauce, in multiple occasions was at the perfect level, they didn't make it too strong. The big stuff was the most impressive. Despite its immense, Headstrong appearance the food was actually easy and enjoyable to eat and handle. Every single item was impressive apart from the bread, the buns. Which were boring. So you gotta use it to make a sandwich or something and make the most out of it. Wish I could of given the bubblegum milk shake a chance. Great atmosphere as well. Worthy of 5 stars. Worthy of paying the price that we paid. Excellent customer service. A wonderful experience from third wave Cafe overall.

The food is awesome. Most sandwiches and burgers are between $12-14. Absolutely worth it. The Mac and cheese toastie with caramelised onion was delicious and crispy. We also loved the poutine schnitzel (with gravy and chips) in a bagel bread roll. Vegetarians and vegans are well catered for with eggplant schnitzels on offer that taste amazing. They are thinly sliced to give them a tasty crunch. The herbed Mayo with spicy sauce and rocket was delicious. Coffee is nice and served in bright yellow cups that match the venue. Hidden in the warehouse district of North Melbourne, a 7 day toasted sandwich restaurant is an odd location, but having eaten here 4 times now, I'm not alone in having discovered it. It's generally busy from 11am onwards, and there's a queue by 1pm. If you're after something light and tasty- go the Harry, if you're wanting something more substantial- the Poutine schnitzel served on a soft pretzel is great, and then for the absurd- grab a Mack Daddy- Pulled pork, Mac N Cheese between grilled cheese slices. Yep. Overall a good experience, but don't stop by if time is tight. 15-20min waits to get your takeaway goodies aren't unusual, and it's worse outside peak rush period. They're also licensed, so if craft beer and toasties are your thing, magic. Well worth a trip.
