She told me they would get back with me. No one has ever called me back. Trust me I have talked to the answering person numerous times with no call back. They were sure quick to take my $. I had to pay 500$ up front before they would even schedule surgery. I did everything he told me to do. I haven't seen him since Recovery he told me to see my regular eye doctor so I did. STRANGE! Since August I have had to have my prescription changed two (2) times. My regular eye doctor said when he changed my prescription the second time that my eyes were significantly worse and he couldn't explain it. I have talked to others who have had this done and they don't need glasses now. My daughter had both eyes done, but she went to Ruby. She never had a problem one. And didn't need prescription glasses. I have a cataract on my right eye also but it's not ready for surgery yet. But when it is I am going to Ruby. Folks I would recommend you not go to this doctor. They take your money and are done with you. All they needed to do was give me a call back and work with me on what could be causing my problems with the eye, but they WON'T even do that. What a shame. And what about the older folks who use his services? Not me ever again. Make your own choice, but beware, I have shared my experience.

That would make it four months from the time i originally scheduled the appointment. Very disappointing!! Nothing like waiting till the last minute to let someone down. I moved to WV a few years ago from SoCal. Having grown up…read morethere, I always had the same doctors and eyeglass makers. I am farsighted and have had reading glasses since 9th grade. It had been a few years, and my eyes were "getting tired" and my bifocals had disppeared in the move. I found Dr. Tonya (Umbel) and went to get an exam. OH MY GOODNESS - The entire staff was so wonderful, friendly, and engaging! It just so happened to be my birthday, and they all made such a big deal about it! The thought they would even notice had not crossed my mind. I was thrilled! During my exam, I learned a few thing from Dr. Tonya, and what I could do to "help my vision" as well as my "tired eyes". I went nextdoor yesterday to get my new bifocals, and Michaell from Eyemart Express helped me. The two offices work together, if the customer chooses, to make the process simple. Michael helped me find a couple of great frames, Meagan made my glasses (On Site) and they were finished in an hour. Dr. Tonya and the staff are Awesome folks! All are very friendly, caring, and even more important, very knowledgable! I can now say I have a new optometrist! Thank you, all.

Due to loss of vision over the years, the visit was to determine whether I vision could be corrected enough with eyeglasses (which previous doctors had not been able to do properly). For the first time, I had someone who took extra, extra time to help with a prescription for glasses that helped me finally function again! She understood the complexities of the eye conditions being dealt with, which included environmental components and Lyme infection. She was patient, understanding and quite knowledgeable. Even though my insurance did not cover the latest visit with Fick Eyecare, I chose to pay out of pocket due to the positive experiences with Dr Umbel. I highly recommend her and appreciate her abilities, patience, friendliness.

The intersection where it is located has become one of the most painful places to get out of due to the addition of a new road which serves as an alternative to the Interstate for those skipping from Eastpointe to the Meadowbrook Mall area. The clinic is always busy and it has not been well kept over the years. Even with the addition of at least two other clinics nearby this one continues to be the one of choice for the Clarksburg/Bridgeport area. Like most urgent care clinics it is open almost all day and they do not take appointments. The wait time is average and really depends on the number of people waiting in line. The waiting room is not big enough and at times it feels like a breeding ground for germs. This clinic offers a little more than most and there are primary care offices upstairs. It's better than waiting for a doctor's appointment or going to the hospital, but with other clinics not to far away I'm not sure why people keep going back to such an old place.

That allergy was on file and I told them of the allergy the day of my visit. I had to have x-rays retaken elsewhere because MedBrook 'misplaced' them. My husband was billed for a procedure neither of us had done there.
