Picking up the debris after maintenance and removing it. Stop cutting plants and brushes so short they burn and sometimes die from the heat.

They did my very large residential yard maintenance quite a few years ago but each time I see their name or trucks around town I'm reminded of a very unpleasant experience I had with them. I have many large long continuous hedges and one day one of their employees decides to divide each shrub in the hedge by cutting out three feet or so between each shrub. This was the last straw and I fired them, but not after many broken landscape lights and irrigation drip pipe punctures. I called to discuss the issues but was met with, "just send us a cancellation notice". I said well how about don't come back, this is my notice. read more

They cut down plants they should not. They stash dead leaves and debris in corners and leave it there and when wind comes it is all over again. They do not take suggestions well. Their time schedule is not consistent. read more

Sitting in Rite aide drive threw and there workers are blowing debris all over my car and the others in line. They are careless with the ladders and came too close to hitting several vehicles. We had bought a brand new dr horton home and they did the grading for the yard and it wasn't done right at all our drainage was also done wrong and just held water in it which brought Nats and the smell of still water was beyond so grose. When I had the "owner" of the company who drives a big black lifted truck come look at it all he belittled me for being a woman and told me I didn't know what i was talking about and told me that I should learn to listen to my husband's advice more often because we knew they would never take blame for there shit work! Nothing was fixed and drains are still messed up. Also about 6 mths prior to him finally coming to look at it he was caught peeping over our fence and when i mentioned it he said i was a lier her talked to my husband at the gate that was only installed 3 mths ago so he likes to lie to customers. I live on Mission de Oro and as pre-usual, the crew was out cleaning up this morning. At about 8:30 I got a knock on my door, and a crew member asked if he could cut down the weeds in my yard. Not only did he do a TREMENDOUS job in that, but he also proceeded to cut back a tree and clear it all out!! I am renting so don't really have the tools to take care of those things outside, so it was a welcome surprise when he offered, and then went above and beyond!! Thank you. read more

Forest Design Landscaping is amazing. They have done a fantastic job maintaining the very complex landscaping for our large commercial building, they are always there on time and have been 100% reliable, and they are always there when I need them. Our landscaping always looks perfect. You can tell the properties that are maintained by Forest Design and those that aren't just by looking at the lawn. But then this weekend they truly went above and beyond. At 7pm I had 20 high school students come to camp out on our lawn because their other retreat location had fallen through. Forest design manages our sprinkler system and I didn't know how to turn off the sprinklers. They came out at 9pm on a Friday night to turn off the sprinklers so the high school students could camp on the lawn without getting wet - now that is above and beyond the call of duty! read more

This is the 2nd time I have used Forest Design for landscaping and highly recommend them. Dan provides a very detail write up of the work to be done and works with you to ensure it is what you want. This time I wanted to have all the bark in the front and back of the house removed, a "riverbed" put in on the side of the house and the back and front spruced up. It looks great. Richie and the two men working with him were very profession, worked with me to make some changes as the work was under way and cleaned up every day and even locked the gate when they left. They kept me posted as to their time schedule and were great to work with. I also appreciate that Dan provides a contract so both parties know what to expect. read more

Hired Dan @ forest Designs to construct a pad for swim spa. Had to delay delivery of spa waiting for Forest to have time to do job. They showed up suddenly giving me no notice forcing me to frantically look for an electrician because conduit had to be laid. Proceeded to pour pad for spa, which did turn out OK, however, in lieu of placing small cobble which we had agreed upon around spa, large stones were filled in making area difficult for my dogs or I to walk on. So if you want a contractor who does pretty much what he wants at his convenience, this would be the company for you. read more

Be careful this company is overpriced to the estimation and would exaggerate their work. I paid them 13 hundreds to clean up my yard for less than a day. Three workers worked and left before three. They told me it's a lot of work in the estimation but may cause them four to five hours only. And then when I asked them if I can get another monthly quote for the new made landscaping, their boss Dan came to my back yard to criticize my new concrete and gravels was not good but bad, talking loudly bad, bad, bad with the arrogant and proud attitude while it's actually not as he said. And of corse, nothing can lower down. He gave harsh comments maybe just because I didn't ask him do it. I didn't know he is like this. When I asked the quote about a clogged drainage, he said at least 8 grands and only a sub pump will cost 800 dollars. He has no patience and scoffed when I asked how come and mention the sub pumps price is just over a hundred in Home Depot or harbor and freight. I told him I have hired workers to cut a square on the concrete before to fix the pipe, it's not as hard as he mentioned. Then he teased owner why don't you and your husband to do it yourself to save money in front of the house. His assistant said I minimized his work, well I simply didn't. The terrible attitude shows no respect or appreciation toward owner. read more

These people have to be the most kind and caring people I have ever met. Dan cane out to give us a quote and at once I felt he was family. Knowing we were on a budget he came up with a plan that turned out to be the most beautiful back yard I could image. Alana I want to adopt, what a wonderful person always there when I needed her, and the crew. Let me tell you I have never never met such kind and caring men in my life. During the first day of construction my husband died if a heart attack. These men were devistated, but they stayed and we're there for me. Everyday they were there for me wanting to help in any way all the time working in 100°+ weather. I will always feel like they are my family. They will be finishing step 5 of my yard next spring. We were very fortunate to find Forest Design. We had met with many other landscapers, but none of them had the time or the equipment needed for the job of demolishing our entire backyard and creating a new space for us and our dogs. We met with the owner many times to discuss our wants and needs, every time he came prepared and ready with plans. We changed our minds on the final design a few times, but he was very accommodating. The end result is amazing!! We now have our dream backyard and enjoy time outside with our dogs, family, and friends. Forest Design maintains our yard weekly and they do a great job. So much so, that our in-laws hired them to redo their front yard and maintain their yard as well. read more

If you like a company that hires employees who look like they're fresh out of the State Pen then sure thing! Go for it! If you like a rude obnoxious owner who will show up like a psycho ex girlfriend if you anger him then sure thing! Be my guest! If you like a landscaping company to take twice as long as it should because their employees like to stop what they're doing and MEAN MUG every car/person that goes by like a dog!! Then call Now! I wouldn't touch this company with a 10ft pole. Yea they were voted best in the North State alright...I'm sure the owner has a friend who controls things like that because I cannot IMAGINE these guys doing or winning anything fairly. I didn't hire them personally, I am just very unfortunate to have a home in an HOA that uses them. Before I signed a contract for this company to fix my irrigation problem, I carefully checked their website and noticed they had been voted "Best in the North State." The supervisor who came out and gave me a verbal quote seemed honest and fair. But wow. They didn't stick to the original bid I signed, charged me twice the cost they quoted for labor, and when I called the company to try to resolve it, the owner showed up on my porch and was menacing and threatened to rip out the work they had done if I didn't pay the entire bill. (I did pay the bill all except the disputed labor amount.) I can only imagine that they got voted best by having friends and family stuff the ballot box. Or maybe customers who never had the misfortune to encounter the bully who is the owner. They must give good service to SOME of their clients, but I wasn't one of them. Steer clear. read more
