Beds were comfortable (make sure to bring sleeping bag). The bed can be kept as double or separated into twins. The grounds around the domes are immaculately maintained ... no rubbish anywhere. FYI - Welcome pack of logs for first night including firelighters and matches provided (if staying for one night, little point bringing extra logs especially in summer) - BBQs provided outside with grill but make sure to bring foil trays and utensils - LED lamps provided for bedside - Pillows were provided in our domes so you can save space by not bringing one - No candle holders provided - Make sure to bring enough torches/lights for night time as we found them very dark without our combined group's torches. - Shared kitchen was very useful as it rained the whole weekend and we were sadly unable to use the BBQ. Two fridges to keep perishables cool! - Book Bistro in advance if looking for a meal in restaurant. It fills up very quickly. # - Early check-in/late check-out can be arranged if you contact Reception well in advance. - The communal fire pit and BBQ area can be hired out privately, but is quite pricey. I believe £50 each. But if hire both, then you get a deduction. Only gripes were: - No sheep skin rugs as shown in photos. - Wifi pretty unreliable - Not very secure - just zips up with padlock, and when inside, unable to lock. We were fine though - nothing went missing. But a safe would have been preferred. - Toilet facilities very far away for middle-of-the-night toilet trips. Really disliked that. It would be better if they had closer festival style toilets. -They ran out of toilet roll in the loos for awhile but after contacting reception, they refilled it pretty quickly. But all in all, we had a great time, it was just a shame the weather was so terrible. Oh and if you get a chance, definitely try the archery, it was such wonderful fun. Andy and his team were amazing with our group. Very patient and helpful. We felt like pros by the end of it :)

We arrived a bit early and we're given room keys and advised to pop back by around 12:00, as our room should be ready by then. The rooms were very well appointed we discovered, with very nice fluffy duvets and comfortable pillows. There was plenty of hanging space for clothes, a huge shower, and a comfortable dressing chair. Breakfast was great, too! Very good quality ingredients, a varied menu, and a great continental selection. We'll be back!

We stayed in one of the Golden Oak cabins, which comes with an outdoor hot tub, log burning fire and complimentary fluffy robes and slippers. Our cabin was a little back from the edge of Loch Long, but the views we had from both the hot tub and the living room were truly breathtaking. The staff at the forest retreat could not have been more helpful, and even took the wifi off of our final bill after it started misbehaving. All in all, it was a wonderful weekend in stunning settings, meaning that we're already planning out next trip back.

Keeping this in mind, I'm trying to be very realistic about this place. I stayed in the Lodge and the Cottage. I started in the Lodge and then had to move mid vacation to the Lochside Cottage because of some other people coming into my Lodge. This was a minor pain and I understand the reason, but it seemed as though the staff never considered any other course of action to avoid this. The Staff - The registration staff was simply rude when I delt with them. They corrected me for not following their check-in directions, when I had followed them exactly. The ONLY staff member that impressed me was the Polish gentleman that works in the Rafters bar and grille. Every time that I went into the rafters this guy was working by himself and he was a freaking work horse! He handled everything by himself and did so with a smile. The Accomidations - The WiFi sucks! There is no other way to put this. I know that I am in what some Scots told me is the "middle of nowhere" but if a service is offered, it should be a well functioning service! To that point, the hot water was also bad. In the Lodge, the hot water worked beautifully. When I was moved to the Cottage, the hot water disappeared. My other travels had hot water in the kitchen and the 1st bathroom, but the en suite bathroom in the master bedroom had no hot water! We did everything we could think to do and it didn't work! In America this place would be a $150 a night budget sweet located half a mile off the Vegas Strip. It would be a place that 10 college kids would pitch in to rent while they went out and had their fun in casinos. They would only use it to sleep and have sex in, and they would leave it looking like it had been used that way when they left. Having said all this, I had a wonderful time in Scotland and the location of this "Resort" is wonderful. The scenery is gorgeous and the advatnage of having a kitchen and food in your lodging cannot be overlooked. I am also not terribly picky and can overlook certain things when I am in a great mood. I would stay here again, but I will definately look for other accomidations before settling on it again. I would have to really strike out on another location first.

Absolutely beautiful place with stunning scenery; the apartment (which was bigger than my flat!) was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Staff were always attentive and friendly, which came in handy for my friend as she is coeliac and needed gluten free options when eating, which staff were more than happy to provide. Brilliant place, I'd highly recommend a visit!
