We have lived here for 20 years and love the place. It's quiet where we live and have no plans to leave. We are not very involved in activities but enjoy the lake and clubhouse area. There are lots of parks and recreation areas as well. read more

Almost bought a home here. So glad we took our time. Not a friendly welcoming place. Political signs everywhere where while at the same time we were told that for sale signs were a big no. Sure glad we talked to a few people before making a big expensive mistake. read more

Forest Lake is a beautiful location. Arenac County Building Restrictions can be overwhelming and the personnel difficult to work with at times. Do not expect the Lake and its common property to be operated in a "Private" manner for its members. It is not. While the Lake is a beautiful place to swim and boat the behavior of some can be dangerous and obnoxious. While there is some official enforcement on the Lake often times there is none. Most residents are friendly and helpful. I have lived here 33 years and have served on the Board of Directors. Friendly families or individuals that want to contribute to the maintenance of the Lake area beauty and to the continued development of a pleasant peaceful community are embraced and welcomed. read more

Forest Lake is awesome! The love the fact that is it safe and well maintained. They have their own security team which helps keeps the riff raff out. They can be seen on a daily basis patrolling the streets and offering a friendly wave. Volunteers offer activities year round for those who choose to get involved, like ice fishing contests, snow mobile poker run, monthly dinner club, computer club, pontoon tie off and many more. The ox roast in July is great event too. For 8 bucks you get a full beef or chicken dinner with all the sides. They offer raffle tickets with high dollar prizes. It's a great event to bring your family and friends. Our family loves spending our weekends at Forest Lake and can't wait to retire there! read more

Great family lake. Perfect lake for a cabin - all sports lake that with year round activity that is only 2.5 hours from Detroit.
