Chav pub with large TVs, undrinkable beer, cheap (but poor quality) food, and impersonal service…read more My friend had a shandy and even the lemonade was off/flat. It's a real shame, since it's one of the few pubs where you can sit out in the sun in the late afternoon - the other pubs' outdoor areas are in the shade at this time. I went there a year or two ago, and the manager had written a letter ticking off the staff for being incompetent and had pinned it to the front door for all to see! Shocking! Not sure if it's still under the same management now, though.

The pub has been long since been refurbished and under new ownership since the last review. It's…read morecompletely changed -- so much better than it used to be! The staff are professional, the beer is fresh, the interior is tidy, and the pub now attracts a diverse range of people, making it a pretty comfortable place for pretty much anyone. It's a great meeting place for anyone living in the village. It's still a bland family-friendly chain pub with cheap food, but... a fairly decent and spacious one. There were two draught ales on tap - both Greene King (landlord) beers... and in good condition, but... come on guys! Let's have ONE decent guest ale! The outdoor seating in front of the pub is in full sun until late evening in the summer, but with speeding traffic rat-running through the village, and a lack of green space, it's not as nice as it could be. But I think there's a back garden too; I haven't explored. All in all, a safe bet.

Really recommend this place, which is on the A30, between Sunningdale and Bagshot. Great food, not…read morecheap but decent value for the quality. Child friendly without feeling that it's overrun by kids. Service top notch, probably more efficient than our livers would like! They also do some simple platters if you just want a bite to eat with some beer early evening and it's at this time of day where I feel the pub really stands out. Overall a nice friendly atmosphere, and personally I would say this place in a different league to its local competitors like Bluebeckers in Chobham or The Half Moon in Windlesham. Do note that they stop serving food at 9.00pm and it is usually necessary to book.

This is a stylish small restaurant and seems to have become THE place to go of late. We could not…read morebook a table until 20:00 on a Thursday and, upon arrival, found the car-park full, the bar area heaving and noise-levels high. The menu is adequate and the food tasty although portions aren't huge. Oddly my classic burger was served on a very small wooden board that made the cutting of it difficult with much of the salad and pieces of the burger falling on to the table. The serving staff were all pleasant enough but rather inattentive probably due to the over-crowding of the restaurant. Conversation became more difficult as the evening wore on due to so many people being packed in to a relatively small area. I shan't be rushing back and will be seeking out somewhere a bit quieter! Why do all my favourite places become SO popular ???
