I was at Forever in December 2023. To my recollection we had some good vegan MX food. But the menu is completely different. One dish I had was a mushroom ragu. It was okay. The other dish I had was a pomegranate marinated watermelon with warm tortillas. That was excellent. It seems they are working out a new more mediterranean menu. Which is okay, but since mediterranean food is everywhere, I'm not thinking there will be much to differentiate Forever to make it worth traveling to. Best vegan cauliflower tacos I've ever had. The food was amazing. Very tourist friendly & some of the servers speak English. The menu is in Spanish but easy enough to figure out tacos, açaí bowls, burger & fries, spaghetti etc. The matcha tea made with coconut juice tasted like they did not skimp on the matcha. First - Forever Vegano is in an amazing art deco/beaux arts building - the facade on the first floor is painted dark grey with white for all the flourishes and embellishments, I sure hope the rest of the building is restored as it will be quite striking. Inside, Forever Vegano is cozy - it's got a loft area (shoes free!) with cushions and small tables on the first floor with a bench that has plenty of cushions. My friend and I both had mandarin orange juice and chilaquiles -- both were very delicious. All the clientele seemed to be foreigners (except for my friend, of course) and I wonder if that's due to some social media promotion or Yelp reviews being mostly in English. Service was a little slow but overall the place is pretty laid back and relaxed. The bathrooms were tidy and I loved how the toilets are in small non-gender-specific rooms with a shared wash area. Wonderful breakfast! My chilaquiles were spectacular and my husband's molcajetes were the best we had in CDMX. I also got a peanut butter tart which, I mean, the picture speaks for itself. Forever has become a staple during my visits to CDMX, as the Airbnb I stay at just happens to be right across the street. I eat breakfast there every morning before heading out on adventures and every morning I start the day off right by doing so! The atmosphere is casual and friendly. Servers are very attentive and service-oriented. They happily answer any questions about the menu. My favorites are the enfrijoladas which are filled with a tofu scramble and topped with avocado and tomatoes. Their cold brew is also quite tasty. The seating upstairs is limited to cushions placed on the floor. Downstairs there are tables along the wall with bench-type seating as well. Let me preface this with the fact that I had already been in CDMX for over ten days and had fulfilled all my cravings. You name it, I had had it. I was ready to detox. It was a welcome blessing to have Forever so close by the AirBnB I was staying at and needless to say it was a no-brainer to walk the few steps to the place. I just about had all my meals there for a few days. Everything was exquisitely prepared and the service was excellent. I didn't have a meal there I wouldn't rave about. Same goes for the service. I have seen reviews where there were complaints about the price but I thought the prices were fair. If you consider quality and variety of the ingredients that go into their dishes and have you ever tried to prepare a vegan meal? I am not vegan just because I don't have the time to shop for and prepare these meals. As I said before, I thought the prices were fair but this is relative. First, out of avocados. In Mexico. Where avocados are literally on every single corner. Second, every other item on the menu I asked for wasn't available. Why not just do a daily menu then? Third, it's vegan, but it's greasy. This isn't a celebration of the the health benefits of vegetables. This is an attempt to fry up and make veggies taste like meat dishes. Not my style. That said, my greasy Pambazo sandwhich at least had decent flavor, despite the accompanying soup arriving after I had already finished. My friends chilaquiles were edible but nothing as savory as others we've had. The mushroom toast was not good. There was a sourness to the cashew creme that was off putting. I needed to drown it in hot sauce. The "pizza" toast was the least greasy item and this probably my favorite. But in terms of excellent cuisine, it fell short on flavor. This is a simplistic vegan joint that is certainly pricey by Mexican standards and doesn't deliver at this price point in my opinion. There's terrific alternatives out here for the same or less money. Alternately, as a cozy vegan coffee and dessert place with free WiFi, is give 4 stars, so long as you don't order the food. read more

Was in a 4 hr layover in CDMX and while I prefer not to leave the airport during traveling with a 4 hr layover and a hungry tummy I knew that I'd have to try some place out. So happy that Mexico City offers many Vegan spots, nevertheless a lot of them are closed on Monday so out of all the options my brother chose Forever and my goodness was I and he (though it was his birthday and he is a meat lover) were left satisfied. Pambazo's have a always been my favorite Mexican food and I knew that I'd have to let my love for them go because not only do I not eat meat and cheese but I don't eat gluten and the bread makes it when you order a pambazo, so the fact they had a gluten free, dairy free and meat free pambazo left me in total awe. It was all I ever dreamed of! Super good, best vegan anything I've ever tried. So happy to have had the time to stop and enjoy this place. The tacos were also fricken amazing! We stopped by at this cute little spot for breakfast before our flight out to Puerto Vallarta. We reached very early around 9 am on a Sunday and had the place all to ourselves! The ambience of the place is very cute and our server was nice and friendly. My husband and I order the seasonal fruit plate - it came as a mix of papaya, bananas, Apple, berries, granola and coconut cream. We also ordered the Chilaquiles - this came with a green sauce (which was good but a bit too tangy for my liking) and the Enmoladas which came with a bit of a sweet mole sauce and mushrooms and was super yummy. Was exploring the area and came across this breakfast spot looking to chill and have a coffee. Checked out the menu and nothing really caught my eye until I saw the pancakes forever. Had no clue that this was a vegan spot and honestly had one of the best pancakes I've ever had. ( not saying vegan places don't have good tasting food but let's be honest). The base of the pancakes were sweet potato and were perfectly done with a crisp dark outside and warming gooey inside . Their " casera Nutella " which is homemade was tasty and paired well with the strawberries and crema de coco . Left this place with the biggest smile and was ready to take on the day. We went in for a glass of wine each a bit before 10pm. After ordering 2 glasses we waited approximately 20 minutes, when a waiter came up to us and told us that they had no wine glasses and would a normal glass be ok. We agreed to this, and another 15 minutes later our drinks arrived in champagne flutes. Imagine the amount of wine you get in a champagne glass, about half of that in a wine glass. Our waitress said she would come and refill the glasses but this never happened. No one came over to us for the rest of our time there except to hand us our bill.
