Yeah, this is not the place for you if you're looking for a small tattoo with a fine-line font. I am not satisfied at all with the outcome of my tattoo. I am certainly no artist but words don't seem like they would be that difficult for a professional tattoo artist, especially when a picture of what is requested is shown to the artists and a mockup that looks perfect is created.. I was wrong. I have been asked if it is my child's handwriting. Adding to the review since I don't see a way to respond to the helpful response that this received. Yes, I did pay for it with a generous tip. No, unfortunately, I have not contacted anyone as I assume there's no way it can be corrected. If there is a way to contact the owner, I would love to do so and explain my concern and remove this review. The artists were polite and courteous, so did not want to write a negative review but felt I needed to warn others. While a review like this might not be the best way to solve the issue of my dissatisfaction, I am a little bit embarrassed to contact anyone regarding it. read more

Both Jon and Woody are great characters and flexible to work with if you work with them too. Ashley is also very professional and great to be around. This shop takes covid precautions very seriously which is incredibly admirable!! Great clean little shop, hands down one of my favorites. I live in Kalamazoo but was in GR. Called on a whim and was pleasantly surprised when I showed up at the environment but the real gem was the employees. It's a little hard to find as it's in a strip mall so not really ON Leonard-just so you know when you go. The place is super clean, not only taking precautions for Covid by taking temps when you come in but the atmosphere was laid back and enjoyable with their banter. Woody was a gem at doing my piercing and quick and economical! I want to make an appointment for a tattoo soon. read more

I called ahead of time and spoke to someone about getting a tattoo; dude was super chill and cool so I decided to drive half an hour to the shop. I was visiting, recently divorced, and looking to get a piece I wanted for a while. Anyways, we arrived and the vibe in here, with the heavy metal music, is super chill and clean and smelled good. I've been in some that didn't, and it freaked me out. A clean tattoo shop with 5/5 stars. Glad I stopped by. I showed Chris a picture of what I wanted, and a few minutes later he had something drawn up; definitely edgier than what I had picked out originally, and I liked his even more. He even made some cool local suggestions, and I left happy with my tattoo. And being honest, it didn't look anything like what I had in my head, but what he came back with was better. The guy that actually tatted me was cool, funny, very chill and calm and skillful. I mean, it's a cross, simple enough, but permanently messing up is a big deal. I had an awesome experience here! I called ahead to make sure that they were doing facial piercings, because some places aren't doing them due to COVID. They aren't doing septum's due to the clamp not being disposable, which is honestly responsible and I appreciate them being proactive about safety concerns. I was able to get my nostril pierced. The woman at the front was super duper nice and welcoming. Woody, my piercer, was extremely friendly and super informative about the whole process. One of the tattoo artists that was tattooing a client introduced themselves to me and we chatted a bit while I filled out the paperwork. I chose this location based on a referral from a friend. I was looking for a tattoo artist to help me with a memorial tattoo for my son who passed away. My other 3 kids and I all wanted the same tattoo. I contacted Jon at Forever Ink and gave him a basic idea of what we wanted. He drew up an amazing tattoo that we all loved. All 4 of us went and got the tattoos. This location is very clean, and the decor is very cool! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Jon did all of our tattoos at a very decent price and within 3 days we were all done. I can't help but look at my tattoo all the time. I absolutely love it! As long as this place is open and I'm still alive, this will be the only place I go for my tattoos. I'm far from done. read more

I think this place gets a bad rep for its location, but my experience(s) were very good. I had 2 sessions with Peto, who was excellent. i cannot speak to the other artists, but she was skillful, gentle, and artistic. She did some lettering for me which was simple and showed that she could do a tattoo that involved basically just doing what you are asked. I came back a few months later (albiet to the short-lived Kentwood location) and had her do another piece. This one was more involved and I showed her some inspirations and told her my ideas. She got right to sketching when I arrived for my appointment and came up with some great drawings. Her talent is awesome. Overall it was clean and I had a great experience. Don't let the Leonard location scare you too much. read more

Went in with my wife and stepdaughter. We all wanted to get a quote for a tat and have it done/set an appointment assuming we liked the price. The prices were fine. The quality of the work was good. My wife and stepdaughter both got a tat. I decided to go somewhere else. The guys working paid a ton of attention to my attractive wife and stepdaughter and basically ignored me, despite my tat request being the most expensive by far. My wife had to remind the guy that I wanted a quote too. He asked me a couple questions and made a condescending comment to one of my answers. That was the last straw for me. If you're a woman I'm sure you'll get decent service. If you're a man, good luck, especially if you go in with a woman. Or if there's a woman that comes in after you. That happened too. The woman that came in after me got served before I did. I have no patience for terrible customer service. read more

I had a tattoo with Ashley today. Ashley was very kind and her stencil of what I wanted looked good, but the result didn't end up as good as I thought it would. The snake's thickness changed throughout it's entire body. This was a tribute tattoo to my friend who passed away and I'm left having to spend more money to get it fixed by my normal artist. I paid in total $200 for this tattoo and really it wasn't even close to worth the money. I'm sure the other artists are great here, but Ashley was a miss, at least with this one. Thankfully my normal artist is more than willing to help me out but overall this was not a win. As an artist (not tattooist) myself, I understand snakes can be pretty difficult to master, but if she didn't feel confident in her skills in tattooing one, I would've preferred that she sent me elsewhere or admitted that she wasn't the right person for the job. I wish the best for everybody here but I would be cautious with using Ashley for something like this. Her other work looks pretty good, so I'm not sure what happened. read more

Don't do walk-ins with this crap business! Called ahead ( considering I live 40 minutes away) to see if they do walk-ins and if I could get a piercing done. I was told yes. When I arrive, I am told it will be a couple hours. Come back at 8:00pm. Fair enough with me being a walk-in. When I arrive at 8:00pm, I'm told "the piercer is just starting a tattoo and the piercing will not be happening tonight." When I told the person at the counter that I was told to be back at 8:00pm and I live 40 minutes away, the response I get is "I don't know what to tell you." Word of advice, don't say you do walk-ins if you can't handle it and don't tell someone to arrive at a specific time if you're not going to honor it. Part of being a good business and being a man is being good for your word. read more

Although this shop may not be in the best part of town, it is a clean and relaxed environment for a tattoo shop. I came in here to get 2 piercings because of their everyday 2 for 30 piercings. Despite their affordable prices, the quality was almost top notch. My only concern was they do not really go over the aftercare of the piercing so it is ultimately in your hands to do the research to make sure you are taking care of your new piercing correctly. My expectations were met and I will definitely be back for my next piercing! read more

the reason i looked at Forever Ink was when my son told me how Chris (owner) was helping out the community at a local event at John Ball park. I figured if this guy cares about his community to the point that he runs his own bids up and then donates the item back to auction it off again (to his own highly inflated bid) then maybe he is worth his salt with a needle......was he ever!!!!
