I hope anyone who happens to check this will note that the one star review was left over 8 years…read moreago. I didn't know Dr. Dame then, but I know him now and he's phenomenal. The terrible anxiety I used to feel before visiting the dentist (and why I stopped getting regular cleanings) is very minimal these days. He is so good at what he does! I've had old silver fillings removed and fixed. I've gotten a couple cavities drilled and filled. But most importantly, I'm back on track with my 6 month cleanings. Dr. Dame does a thorough job. He's beyond knowledgeable, and is an all around cool guy. He's got a great staff including (but not limited to) Kristy-- running the ship up front. Madisyn-- running around getting people prepped, and Jenna-- who's just the best hygienist ever. I see now that there are more reviews on the Google side of things, but hate to see this old one star review on Yelp. Just call 'em and make an appointment already. Yeah, YOU! You won't be disappointed!

On two separate occasions, I have had a concern with a tooth and they got me right in, the next day. The doctor checked it out, and was very patient with helping me. My cleaning appointment went well, also, and I ended up going back for a filling appointment. It only took like 5 minutes for the filling! The staff up front is very nice, too. I would recommend this dentist to my people.

But the way a situation was handled yesterday showed a serious lack of awareness and sensitivity. We hope the office reflects on how they approach care for children with additional needs. I was told by the receptionist that North Pointe's insurance program changed and therefore, I owed money. I stated that I was never made aware of this and there are laws protecting consumers. They stated they would look into it. I was told that the bill was reduced, but they expected me to pay half. Again, I told them that I did not think this was appropriate due to the fact of never being told that I would need to pay anything due to their policy change which I should have been informed about. I pay for dental insurance to avoid having to pay for routine cleanings. Plus my husband is ill and not working so if I knew I would have to pay extra, I wouldn't have booked the cleaning here. They said that they look into it and if I didn't hear from them that I could count on the bill being forgiven. I didn't hear from them, but I did get a bill from collections. I'm livid. I thought we were working on handling this together and I thought it was handled, yet they sent it to collections. They lack accountability and compassion.
