After months of being ghosted or overquoted by other electricians in Chicago, finding Highlights…read moreChicago was a total game-changer. I needed several installs pendant lights, a ceiling fan, and vanity lights but most companies either dragged their feet on quotes or gave me "I don't want to do this" pricing. One competitor, Mr. Mighty Electric, quoted me 3x the rate and charged a trip fee just to look at the place! Boz (the owner) was a true professional from the start. He came out for a walkthrough the same week I called, took detailed notes, and was incredibly respectful (he even took his shoes off without being asked). He promised a quote the next day and delivered a very reasonable, detailed estimate. On installation day, Boz arrived on time with three workers, gave them a clear game plan, and specifically instructed them to minimize wall damage to save me from extra painting. The crew was fantastic they checked in with me on heights for the fan and pendants before finalizing anything. They worked for 8 hours and the result was outstanding. I was so happy with the quality that I tipped the whole crew. If you want fair pricing and high quality work, call Highlights. I'll be using them for every future project!

I don't reside in Chicago where I have property so communication was essential. Highlights Chicago was quick and effective in responding to my inquiries and issues. Boz patiently answered my many questions. Each phase of the job was videotaped to show me their progress. (Electrical panel replaced for six unit apartment building) It should be noted that this was no small job. I couldn't help but notice how they cleaned the work area at the end of each day. Hopefully, I won't need such a big job in the future. Just knowing that I have such a remarkable company to rely on, Highlights Chicago will certainly get my repeat business, big or small.

I strongly advise against hiring Alambre Electric. Our experience was deeply frustrating and…read moreultimately led to legal action. We signed a contract for $16,000, expecting a professional and reliable service. At the start, there were 2-3 workers on site, but they soon stopped showing up regularly. When I asked for updates, I received vague and inconsistent explanations. Work resumed sporadically, but progress remained minimal. There were also serious concerns about professionalism. Workers were smoking in our basement and around the property, and empty beer cans were frequently left behind. This created an uncomfortable and unacceptable environment in our home. Despite having already paid more than half of the contract upfront, the team completed only about a quarter of the agreed-upon work. At that point, the owner demanded an additional $5,000 and stated they would walk off the job if we refused. When we referred back to the signed contract, he began disputing items that were clearly included--such as the electric stove and cooktop--even though we had documentation and prior discussions confirming this. After being presented with proof, he shifted his reasoning, citing increased costs and business expenses. Those are not the customer's responsibility. We ultimately involved the City's Department of Building and Electrical in an effort to resolve the situation. While the work completed met code requirements, the broader dispute remains unresolved. The owner attempted to deflect blame by mischaracterizing our conduct, which was both inaccurate and disappointing. This situation has now escalated into a civil case as we pursue recovery of our funds. If you value reliability, transparency, and professionalism, I recommend looking elsewhere. Based on our experience, this is not a company I would trust with my home.

We had a very detailed contract, but Jonathan figured he would try to squeeze more money out of us because his workers were costing him to much. We caught them smoking weed at the worksite, arriving late , and several mistakes where done. It's not the client responsibility to keep the employees in check and if they cost you more than you calculate - don't try to extort your client, own up to it and be a business owner. When Jonathan couldn't extort more money, he decided to leave the project in a very bad condition and not return to finish anything. We had several electricians come by to try to finish his job and many refusing even giving a quote due poor craftsmanship done by Alambre's crew. We have a ton of documentation backing our claims and poor craftsmanship done. Stay away from this company if you're doing any home / residential work - as they will try to scam you, even with a detailed contract, several site inspections and calls with architects on the scope.

Expectations were exceeded again, and the quality of the work is impeccable. Since we have an older home with older wiring when one thing went out a bunch went out. Not only did I have dangerous wiring. I called Homer and they were out the next business day. Homer came over with Arthur and Norris, bright and early and got to work. They replaced all of the frayed wiring and redid the circuits. They were able to fix everything, as well as run new wiring and correct all issues. Homer was supervising while Norris and Arthur got to work tracing all of the lines and what seemed like an impossible spaghetti of wiring issues, they were able to figure it out, like magic. Straight to the point, very fair prices, incredible quality work (I am able to discern) and very nice guys, I could talk to them for hours about all kinds of cool stuff. Homer's phone number has found a permanent place in my contacts and I will use his business as long as possible. I almost don't want to recommend because then he'll be too busy when I need him but, I highly recommend calling Homer if you have any issues with your electrical. It will get sorted fast!
