They were excellent. I needed all new light fixtures and switches but I didn't know where to start. They took me to a lighting store and helped me pick what I needed and then installed it all for me quickly and efficiently. Kent was great! He came out for a last minute electrical fuse blown and was able to quickly work around our condo unit and building to find the issues and get our power back on. I luckily don't have much experience with electrical issues/work, but since there were no materials or major labor needed (building fuse just needed turning back on) they just charged me the "service fee" which was $185. Can't endorse Kent and Jeanette enough. Kent installed a 40A induction line in my condo. The work was far beyond what either of us expected because the piping in the unit was terrible and took more than a day. But Kent said he has never left a customer hanging, and he came back on the weekend to finish the work so we weren't without kitchen power. Kent has done electrical work for me before that was successful. That is why I contacted Skyline again to replace a circuit breaker panel. The old panel was located in a hall closet with bi-fold doors and not enough space to work without removing the door. Kent did not want to take door off track because the bldg is old and it would be difficult to put it back. I said ok and went down to Hospitality Room in bldg while he worked. When I returned to my condo, Kent had cut a hole in my customized closet door to install the new panel.He never called me to discuss other options or get my ok to cut the door. The maintenance staff may have been able to put the door back on track or maybe a carpenter. Now I will be out hundreds of dollars to replace a door that is not standard size because of his decision! read more

Wow, wow, wow!! Knocked it out of the park!! Kent came in here with a CAN DO attitude and mindset, determined to get the job done and make it happen after hearing that I had several failed attempts from other companies that said it couldn't be done (unless I pulled up the floor or did work on the ceiling). On last-minute notice, Kent saved the day and made it happen. I now have upgraded electrical and new wiring that will support a new 220v washer/dryer, which is now the standard for most washer/dryer unit stackable designs, especially for apartments and condos (my old one at 110v is now at peace...out with the old, in with the new). After 6 weeks with no dryer and 1 week with no washer...I couldn't be more grateful to Kent. I cannot recommend him and Skyline Electric enough! So hands-on and awesome! Certain things happen when you purchase a home. Things break down and there are some odds and ends you want to tweak. Sometimes you get on your high and mighty horse, thinking you are Tim the Toolman, and try to do these little home projects by your lonesome. You buy the tools, the drill, the electric meter, and hit the internet ready to take on home improvement projects like it's your day job that you've been doing forever. YouTube can be great but it definitely doesn't prepare you for everything. So I may or may not have blew out the entire power in my apartment on a Sunday early afternoon after sparks started shooting out of the switch I was replacing. Seemed easy but I managed to screw it up colossally. And no, it wasn't just a switch in my fuse box. I called a few places and most weren't willing to come until Monday. The other one who was willing to come wanted to charge $250 just to show up and he was unprofessional on the phone. The thing that stood out about Skyline was the professionalism and honesty. Jeanette was fielding my calls / texts, and acting as a broker between myself and the electricians. She expressed genuine concern for the issue and seemed determine to help me out. I received a call back from one of the guys and they wanted to see if they could talk me through a fix over the phone. It ended up being more than what he initially thought but the first thing he said was "I don't want you to have to pay for this if we can do it over the phone". I thought that was awesome. Kent ended up coming out and helped me get back online. It took a little bit of exploring my building to figure out the overarching issue but he definitely kept me at ease. He also replaced the switch for me and ended up giving me a piece of advice on something with track lighting that I was about to pay $1,000 to replace. We had six battery operated blinds on windows that went up about 15ft that we wanted converted to hardwired operation. 4 dealers for the blinds said they couldn't help us, the manufacturer didn't respond for a month and only asked if we ended up finding someone to do it because they weren't able to, and other quotes came in 90% higher with zero detail on what they would do. Kent stepped up to the challenge and gave us a super slick and cost effective result. Jeanette is very responsive, makes scheduling super easy, and did a great job relaying our needs to Kent. Kent is a whiz with wires. After he and Tomasz brainstormed a bit on the best way to go about it, Kent explained what they were going to do in great detail and got to work. When I called (after reading YELP reviews) I gave info on what problems I had (along with what I thought needed to be done). I was surprised to receive a call from the owner. He wanted to work with me over the phone to possibly resolve the issue (for free!) and eliminate the need for a service call. Who does that?? We weren't able to fix it, so his guys came out. Very professional and friendly. We still had problems with an old fixture. The owner came to work with his crew, but didn't charge me for this extra time. My experience until today has been very positive, both for my family, friends, clients and anyone I've referred to this company. I have sent no less than 3 people to them and my family has used them for both smaller and larger projects on no fewer than 3-4 occasions. And then today happened. Skyline was called out in November or early December to install gutter heaters into my 97 year old grandmother's 4-flat. The system was installed, though they ended up staying late because the gutter heaters kept blowing fuses (she has an older electrical panel). They managed to stabilize the system temporarily and we thought there wouldn't be a problem in the future. As soon as the January ice storm hit, the gutter heaters started blowing all of the fuses again. No problem! I called Skyline but this time they sent Kent. While nice at first, his attitude quickly changed later on. I'm the type of person who looks to professions when I have questions and I rely on them for education and information. I asked Kent some questions and he just seemed annoyed. Upon his return from the supply warehouse, I asked him if I should turn the gutter heaters off in an effort to make things a little easier for him. His response was to call me an a$$hole and then tell me that it's "always the person behind you that is telling you how to run your f#%king business even though you've been doing it for 35 years and have '5 licenses.'" Excuse me? I've done nothing but try to help make things easier for you and if I've had a question, I have asked it (as any consumer would). I don't know everything and I'm hiring you for your time as well as your professional efforts. It's not too much to ask that you be somewhat pleasant during the process. On top of this, Kent did not wear a mask. At the time (01-13-22), we were in the middle of the pandemic and at the peak of the problems with the Omicron variant. Regardless of what you may think of COVID-19, he knew that the owner was a 97 year old. The bottom line is that the job wasn't properly completed back in December and the job wasn't completed today, either. Kent, after his tirade/hissy fit, decided to leave the job site without closing the roof hatch that he opened to examine the electric gutter heaters on the roof. My 97 year old grandmother was left to find someone with a ladder who was willing to help close up the hatch so that water and ice didn't cause hazardous conditions for her tenants. It's a shame that I will no longer be recommending this company due to the unprofessional actions of their owner. They had been great up until this point. They are the best. We had two water pipes freeze during the polar vortex in our laundry room because we had no heat. I called Jeanette at Skyline to ask if they could install some baseboard electric heaters. Kent and his team came out on Friday and Kent told me I would have had to buy 4 of these baseboard heaters if I was going to get them to work. Instead, he realized right then and there that the better option was to heat the space like a garage and install a garage heater. I did not even know these existed, but looked them up and sure enough that is what we did. He did not charge for their time on Friday to come out and look at everything. Alex, who is also awesome, came out Saturday to get everything setup so that once we bought the heater, it would be really quick to install. The heater came on Monday and Alex was able to come out first thing Wednesday morning and hook it up. On the lowest setting and close to the lowest heat level it keeps the entire space warm, and I have not even insulated well yet. Kent is one of the few remaining tradesmen who I have always found to be honest, caring, and wanting to make sure the job is done right and that the right job is done. I have to say, that was the most off putting conversation I've ever had with someone. The receptionist who answers the phone at Skyline Electric should not have a job. I called and asked for an electrician to come out for a few projects at our new condo. While the conversation started nicely, it only went downhill. We have just a few short projects, yet she recommended 2 electricians because "they don't want to just hang at our house all day". I understand and that's fine, however, I was told I would also be charged more $$ to have both electricians, when just 1 could easily handle the work. I proceeded to ask if we could just have one electrician (since this was easily the cheaper option) and she said, "well aren't you calling an electrician because you can't do the work yourself?" Yes, we are, however I don't need to pay more for this service if I don't need to. She was so condescending and rude I would never recommend Skyline Electric. Her attitude is unacceptable. When I kindly offered to call someone else and she said "I wish you would" and hung up on me. Wow, failing at customer service. read more
