Although my capable realtor gave me a couple of recommendations for inspectors, I liked the look of Fort South's YELP profile and put in a request for an estimate. I received a response within 5 minutes. We texted back and forth a few times and I got good vibes, so I booked him. Four days later, I arrived at the property and Ian was already there. He spent about 2 hours on his inspection (it's a small place) and I felt that he was very thorough. After he was done, he sat down and gave me an overview of what he saw. I recorded the conversation as a voice memo so I could capture all the detail and to share with my partner who couldn't be there that day. It was such a useful conversation, I'm glad I made the time to be present. We chatted for 40 minutes and then I had a couple of follow-up questions and he walked the property with me so he could address my questions. Ian recently inspected a new home that we were in the process of purchasing. He was extremely thorough which was very apparent during our verbal recap after the inspection was complete and while my spouse was unable to present for the recap, he offered to do a Zoom meeting with both us! The final report was delivered the same day and was extremely thorough, well-written, and easy to understand. He also took amazing pictures of every discovery. The pictures were so good that we were able to send a subset of them to a foundation expert to give us quote for the work Ian recommended. As a comparison, I reviewed the inspection report for a different company that we used for our previous house and Ian's report just blew that one away! Ian did not cut corners although it was 100 degrees that day. I was present but even if I had not been the report follows the flow and makes the viewer feel present.
