Garage Door Drama Tumbled home from a two-week vacay…read moreexhausted at midnight, craving my pillow, but my garage door flipped me off and cackled, "Lightning zapped me, sucker!" Total betrayal. Fast forward a few days I dialed A+ Garage Door, and John, the wizard of whoosh, picked up like he was camped by my phone. This was the day after July 4th, a sizzlin' Saturday, and John texts, "15 mins out", so I saved him a lemonade!" He swoops in, defying 101° heat that could bake cookies on the hood of my car. My opener was deader than a disco ball at a funeral, but John, slinging his tools like Wyatt Earp would skillfully sling his six shooter, slapped on a sparkly new garage door opener and new clicker so swanky it could star in a rom-com. He also reprogrammed my old clicker so now I have two! All for just under ~$500! He zipped around like a sugar-rushed chimpanzee, left no mess, and now my garage door slides open smoother than a penguin on ice. Very nice, professional and more affordable than my iced latté habit--A+ Garage Door is the unicorn of fixes! Unless you wanna arm-wrestle your garage, holler for John! Seriously he's a really good guy.

Contracted with Aaron Trommelen of Specialty Construction to erect a metal carport from a kit I…read morepurchased from a vendor, and build a wooden platform for metal steps to abut to. This was to be shade and shelter from rain for my camper. After some delays ( Aaron seemed to be doing this as a side job and only when not working on his primary projects) the shelter was completed and looks good, sturdy. The project was abandoned when the camper was backed under the shelter and I went out of town for a month. Yes I know I should not have paid in full until the job was comlplete. I did however pay in full and gave him $3,400- $200 more than I agreed to because I felt the job was good and I trusted him. The platform was never completed by him although upon contact when I got back he said he would. I also discovered the shelter leaks significantly. Eight weeks after the original shelter was completed I finally paid someone else to move the partially constructed platform in place and complete it. The shelter still leaks. It seems Aaron Trommelen is now working out of town. The least he could have done is let me know what was happening. I feel I was very understanding of all of the delays but in the end he stopped responding. Aaron Trommelen of Specialty Construction is not a man of his word and not to be trusted.
