Most of his business appears to be captured through word of mouth but he's in heavy demand and getting on his schedule can be tough, so if you're interested in this guy, booking him sooner is better.

I called Paul, and he told me he could fit me in the next day at 5:30/6PM. Unfortunately, when the time of the appointment came, all contact was lost with him. I tried calling, texting, e-mail, he simply would not reply to any of them. Then, I went to his studio in Wilmington, and there was nobody there. It wouldn't be until two days later, only after I tracked down his personal Facebook and messaged him there, that I managed to get in contact with him. His reply was a simple, "I am having family issues, please find someone else." And that was it. Family issue or no, it was highly unprofessional of him to not give me the courtesy of at least letting me know that he would be unavailable so that I could find another headshot photographer in time. My only option became to submit a homemade headshot, which will most likely significantly decrease my chances of getting noticed by the casting directors. And the worst part is that he didn't even apologize. He might as well have said "f*** off." This man is unreliable, untrustworthy, inconsiderate, and clearly does not care about his customers. He had the audacity to set an appointment and completely shrug me off until it was too late. I can't even tell if his "family issues" story is real, as his Facebook wall suggested he was happily watching the Super Bowl while I was desperately trying to contact him. Regardless, the simple fact of the matter is that I relied on him, and he screwed me over. My audition might as well be ruined. This is simply not good business practice. If you want a trustworthy photographer who cares about his customers and who will keep his appointments, I highly recommend you find someone else.

We had a few meetings with Pat in the run-up to the wedding, and he got to know us and our story, hopes, and expectations. He expertly ran the show on the day of - he took care of pictures of each of us with our children and then nailed the first look and the pics of us together. I had avoided doing so because I understand how hard it can be for small businesses, especially in the wedding industry, and I do not leave negative reviews lightly. That said, the request brought the experience back, and I feel it is worth sharing for other couples. We originally booked J & J Studios during lockdown in 2020 for our April 2022 wedding. In January 2022, after I received a serious medical diagnosis, my husband and I had to postpone our wedding to October. Our venue and every other vendor worked with us, requested reasonable documentation, and did not require additional payment. J & J handled things differently. We were told we would need to pay a new deposit to hold the new date, plus an additional fee because they were unlikely to rebook our original date. We were told that if they did book it, the extra cost would be refunded. With significant medical bills at the time, that added cost was not feasible. For context, about two months after we postponed, I had a friend inquire about our original April date, and she was told it was booked. I wish the experience had been different. We were willing to meet them in the middle as far as the additional payment given the circumstances but they felt they could not at the time. I understand that businesses have policies, but during an already difficult and emotional time, we were left feeling unsupported.
