We took the kids to do a santa photo at Thanksgiving point. They have improved this year in comparison to previous years. We didn't have a long wait and most importantly they didn't loose our photos. Do yourself a favor and get an independent photographer. We originally used Fotofly at thanksgiving point outdoor pictures and they were great there. This time we went to the Draper location and it was underwhelming. I had to do a lot of work myself to get the kids to pose and the photographer cut the session very very short. I'm not sure what we paid for. He said he would photoshop the kids' cuts scrapes out they had from outside play. That never happened. The pictures weren't great. It's a year later and we haven't used them. read more

We had a great experience here! Easy to find and park, and the whole process was so smooth. I felt like we got a huge amount of photos (haven't gotten them yet) during our a slot. It was so nice to have the option of the studio and going outside. The studio has huge windows so there is tons of natural light - this is not a department store studio! I went in 2023 and pictures were beautiful, well done, great lighting great edits. I went back 2024 HORRIBLE pics of my son, he looked like a literal ghost. I tried again 2025 EVEN WORSE. Our family had photos done at the Salt Lake Location. The studio was filthy. We were nervous even sitting on the sofa or stools provided. They had a dirty bed in there. It looked like more of a porn studio than a place for families. The photographer was unprofessional and hardly spoke to us. We basically had to set up our own poses. I'm not sure about the other locations this was my first time with Fotofly but I would not recommend using the Salt Lake Location. read more

NEGATIVE STARS!!! WHERE ARE MY PICTURES?!?! IT'S BEEN 90 DAYS AND I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED MY PICTURES!! I am absolutely furious that Fotofly has taken my money and NEVER given me my pictures! I had pictures taken by Sky on May 30, 2023 @ 3:30pm. She stated "I would receive my pictures in 2 days, 3 days MAX (June 2)". I've called the Lehi location numerous times and the phone goes to voice-mail. I've left voice messages, which have gone unanswered. FINALLY, a girl answered on 8/23 @ 11:20am and said she got an error stating "my pictures weren't uploaded correctly", she "didn't know what that meant" and she'd have Sky call me back after returning ("approx. 30 min."); Sky never called me back. If there was a problem with my pictures, I should have been informed immediately! Edit: It has been five days (08/31/2023), and I've received ZERO response from this company as to where my pictures are. read more

The photographers at Fotofly do a good job with the kids and the previews the photographer showed me were very cute shots. Unfortunately, this is the second year out of four that they have lost our photos. We had pictures taken there last Wednesday. Since this has happened in the past when we have done two sessions, I specifically addressed this concern with both the lady I checked in with and the photographer who both assured me they would personally make sure that both sets of photos were sent to my email and were shocked that had happened. Well, they have lost them again. It's pretty frustrating after taking time away from work and spending over an hour to get these pictures taken. The most recent response from Fotofly: "Hey I did some digging and I'm sad to say that I couldn't locate the photos that you were asking for. Unfortunately we can't guarantee photos after 6 months and we don't have access to that domain anymore. Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you! Happy Holidays, Eesha" The photos were taken last week, so I'm sure you can understand my frustration with this kind of response. If you actually receive your photos, they are usually very cute! I went to have my son's Santa pictures done, I paid for a ten minute session, which ended up being a four minute session. I was promised I would have my pictures in 24 hours, and it has now been 4 days and I still do not have my pictures and no one will answer my phone calls or emails. This happened last time I used fotofly too. I am not happy. They make sure to tell you how much they want a tip, they get their tip and then they don't care anymore. After paying for a terrible set of pics from a hack Santa at the mall, my daughter decided she needed to find a solution to the Christmas blues. This place does absolutely beautiful work! The silhouettes with Santa are the most adorable thing I have ever seen. And to top it off, we Went in on Christmas Eve and we had a dozen photos within about two hours. I love Fotofly so much. We just completed our second photo shoot at their Draper location. The first one was Dec 2015 when my son was 20 months old. Ashley was our photographer and was great with my son and we loved all the files we got. This time he was a somewhat obnoxious 3 year old, and my 6 month old also joined the party. Kenny was our photographer and he was awesome at engaging with both kids and all the shots were amazing. The price has gone up - I think it was $100 last time and it was $125 this time... I also tipped 20%. Worth every penny for the hour session. We live in NYC area and it is hard to find a session at that price and files wouldn't even be included. I will definitely come back to Fotofly whenever I'm in Utah to take advantage of this great value and product. Also, I like the variety of backgrounds at the Draper studio - in the 2 sessions we didn't have any repeats (except the glass floor shot, which I requested). We used the SLC office for family photos recently. The session seemed a bit rushed but we were satisfied with the photos taken. Here are the biggest frustrations with our visit: 1- The company sends you an email with a promo code for free shipping and 20% off when you order prints within 2 days. The promo codes did not work. 2- We have attempted to contact the company to address the promo codes not working and they have been unresponsive. We've left voicemails, emails and called several times with no answer. 3- We ended up just placing an order for prints without the free shipping and the 20% off believing it would get resolved. However, it has been 2 weeks and we haven't received any communication that the order has shipped. I am only giving 3 stars because the photos were satisfactory and the photographer was good with the kids. However, the inability to respond to their customers after a photo session is a concern I would be consider before using this company. Thanks! read more

My son is autistic. Until he was 24 months old, I would take him to Target or JC Penney every 3 months to get his photos done. They usually turned out with one or two okay pictures, most pictures were terrible, and always very expensive (and $200+ to buy all the photos from the session.) I discovered Fotofly when my son was 3 years old. I hadn't gotten a good picture of him for at least a year. I was absolutely floored by the quality of the photos. Not only did the photographer magically capture my son's personality and beautiful eyes, they also edited out the ginormous cat scratch down his forehead! So my autistic child does not sit still and rarely looks at you when you try to get his attention. Somehow Fotofly got amazing pictures of him anyway, for only $80. And I get to print these pictures anywhere I want. I will never go to any other photographer again. Fotofly has earned my business for life. I only wish I had found them earlier! read more

This is a great place to get Santa pictures as well as yearly photos. We've used this company half a dozen times. My 4 yr old loves all the photographers, they always tell cute little jokes to make the kids laugh. This year due to COVID I was hesitant to have the photos taken but Fotofly was pretty good about make us feel safe. I've been stalking Fotofly via Facebook for a couple of years now and have always been impressed by the creative shots they take. Having a new baby was just the excuse I needed to finally go in and try them out for myself. These guys really know how to handle a newborn. I was impressed by the tricks they knew to get a fussy baby to calm down for the 2.5 seconds needed to get some great snaps. You'd never know my baby was pissed based on the photos. They made him look positively angelic. They were pros through and through and didn't miss a beat when my naked child peed all over the studio floor. She just kept on snapping away. The concept is awesome- flat fee fphoto session and you leave with a disc or thumb drive of all the photos, complete with full license for only $88. The price has gone up since some of the previous reviews were written but its still a fantastic value for such personalize attention and unique photos. They also have an outdoor studio at Thanksgiving Point and some sore creative Santa photos that I look forward to trying out as well. read more

We had Christmas pictures taken ten days ago. We were told we would get them sent to us within 24 hours. As of now, we still have not received our pictures. I have called five times, left two voice messages with my name and phone number (no one has called me back), and the last time I called I finally actually got through to a person. After looking for several minutes, she said she didn't see our pictures in the system but that she would reach out to the editors and see if they had the pictures. I asked her to call me back today and let me know, even if she couldn't track down the pictures. We were planning on using these pictures for Christmas cards and even if I paid more to rush my order, today was the last day I would be able to order them in time to be sent out for Christmas. She said she would definitely call me back by the end of the day after she spoke to the editors and of course, no one has called. The worst part is they made us pay right after the pictures were taken, NOT after we received the pictures, and we even tipped them (because we are morons). I like to attach photos to my reviews but they haven't sent them to me and probably never will so I apologize to all you people that come to Yelp to see reviews with images. -_____- read more

I tried FotoFly for the first time this weekend. We took our rambunctious 18 month old twin boys for their Santa session at the Kaysville location. While they were very busy, the whole process ran like a well oiled machine. We loved the homey feel of the location and opted for the more rustic area upstairs. It was beautifully decorated and ready for pictures. The boys loved the vintage train in the set. We got two great poses which is a miracle with these boys. We always get great pictures of one and nothing useable of the other. This time we got useable pictures of the two of them in both poses. We did one traditional picture with the boys On Santa's lap and then one with them sitting by the tree and taking a cookie from Santa. They were so cute. Our photographer Monica was very patient and good with the boys. We had one small hiccup in that we were emailed a link for our photos later in the day (early evening), but the link did not work. All it took was a quick email and by 11:30 that night we had a new link and access to our photos. This place is fantastic. I can't recommend the Santa session enough. For only $35 it is a no brainer. Sign up quick because the spots were filling up quickly. That's how we ended up In Kaysville in the first place! read more

The photos are great but the wait was longer than expected and the front desk seemed a little bit confused. Our photographer was so skilled and totally knew how to make the kids look and smile. The props and backgrounds were fantastic I just wish they had sent me more variety or photos and not the same photos in color & b&w. We just went to the Kaysville locations and had such a wonderful experience. Our photographer was Maytlin, she was wonderful with our four year old son, even though he was being a bit uncooperative. She was so patient and was able to get him to do whatever she wanted. If you have kids she is a great choice in photographer. S far as the location, there were fewer backdrop choices than I expected but they utilized them well and she took us outside which was nice. It did get a little harder when a second family came about halfway through our shoot to work with another photographer, but they did a good job working us around each other. Every time I have used foto fly I have been happy, it is wonderful to have so many photo options in such a short time period and I love how many photos we get. Oh boy, how do you review something that goes against the core of your being? Let me start by saying I have zero sentimentality: I hate cards, trinkets, jars filled with sand from vacation. It's all just junk that will clutter my house until I have to throw it away. That being said you can only imagine how I feel about color coordinated, posed photos. So let's give credit where credit is due. These folks got a few very cute family photos in 30 minutes or less and it was pretty painless. The kiddos seemed amused by the jumping, squeaking, laughter, and other goofy acts our photographer had to endure just to make 2 year olds smile. Now let's get to the downside: $130 for under 30 photos, half of which were in black and white and were very unflattering. I'd recommend looking for a groupon before paying full price. read more

Fotofly is a relatively new (and long overdue) concept in studio photography. Here's the short and sweet part of the review - how it works: For $79 bucks you get a 45-minute photography session with no hidden fees or costs. This fee entitles you to an edited CD with your entire session on it, with a copyright release. Anyone who's walked out of Kiddie Kandids has spent twice that to get the package that includes the CD and they don't get a copyright release with it. Printed sheets are an (extraordinarily) reasonable $4.00 per sheet. Here's the detailed, more involved part of the review: I'm a huge fan of the wide variety of background choices they offer. There are industrial looking backgrounds, Pottery-Barn"esque" backgrounds, a black and white damask background (only suitable for one person at a time), a graffiti background, a realistic doorway background. I say "background" and not "backdrop" because these are not pull-down sheets with photos of stuff on them, but actual "sets". Don't go looking for props either - they have a few "set" items, such as pretty tables, cool seating options, and baskets, but you won't find any cutesy choo-choos or elaborate setups here. At Fotofly, your subject is the star of the picture. Check out their website at www.fotofly.com so you can see what they offer. I have one very important caveat to add: Every photographer there is different. The company is new, so they are still defining their style. Some photographers make more use of shadow (creating a more artistic look), some make more use of aerial type angles. Their style may not be the same as your style, so call ahead and discuss their photo-style options and your preferences. You need to go in knowing what you want. You likely won't be able to request a specific photographer but each photographer will work with you on your preferences. On second thought, make that two caveats: Photofly does guarantee you'll be happy with your product, but once you leave with your CD there are no do-overs. If you're not happy with your shoot, reschedule. Don't pay for the shoot and walk away with a product that doesn't meet your expectations. The owners are pretty strict with this policy and don't make exceptions. They will work with you after the fact and adjust lighting, shadowing, etc within their editing software, but they obviously can't change facial expressions, etc. Editing shadows and light doesn't cost more, but editing blemishes, stray hairs, etc does cost an additional $10.00 per five edits. More extensive editing (such as head swaps)is also available for an additional fee. Lastly, a HUGELY important tip: Your session only lasts 30-45 minutes. It goes by very quickly. If you're trying to cram in family shots, individual shots, and group shots (especially with a variety of their very tempting backgrounds), your final photo choices may end up being fairly limited. A tip that Fotofly owner, Melinda, offered me was to consider doing group shots and individual shots in two or more separate appointments. Each appointment is its own shoot with its own CD, and each CD does carry the $79.00 fee. Fotofly has such a great concept that they're hugely popular and super busy. Know before you go that if you are late, they just cannot accommodate you with extra time. I know, after talking with Melinda, that they wish they could extend shoots for late clients, but then they'd have to disappoint the next customer, and so on, and so on. So plan to be early because if you're running late, you'll likely need to reschedule. And I've already noticed that prime time appointments are currently booked out for a couple of months, so rescheduling may not suit your needs. Bottom line: It's a great concept at a great price. Being new there are still a few hiccups and bumps, but overall it's a killer deal. And in the world of photo studios with an artistic slant, those are few and far between. read more
