What delighted my friends and I was their pre-loved section, for gently used items that customers can resell. They actually have an online marketplace where you can sell or buy, though sadly only operates within Finland. I don't know how much customers get for them but it's a nice way of recycling, that seems to go very well with the Finn's attitude to life and environment. My friend got a thin jacket that looks totally like new for 35€. I found some nice dresses but sadly too big for me. : (

This is a community/regional shopping mall located nicely near the heart of the city. It offers…read moremost of the services you would expect, but many brands you probably like are nowhere to be found. In fact, there aren't many brand stores as such. For me, this makes shopping take some unnecessary effort. There is no food court, but there are several restaurants that offer some variety. Again, when shopping for clothes the absence of brand stores is a bit of a problem for me. Other specialist stores, such as book stores, are generally pretty weak with few exceptions. There is a GameStop. There is no real electronics store, but you will at least find all the operator stores (with long lines) here. The parking garage is fairly spacious (with a car wash service that I have never tried) and the mall is easy to access by foot from pretty much any direction. The opening hours are also pretty good. Convenient when the weather is bad. There's an app for Koskikeskus. It looks like it's in Finnish only but there are symbols that should help. May be worth checking out if you can't find your way around the place. Overall, this mall is still okay.

The center lies beside the water that runs trough the city and thats the backround of the center name. Koskikeskus transelated is "center by the riverfalls" I recommend everyone to visit Koskikeskus if you are in Tampere!

Gas is more than $9 USD per gallon right now here and we were driving a hybrid in desperate need of charging. We figured we'd get a snack, walk around and come back to a charged car. Unfortunately the payment terminal wasn't working at all. Waste of gas driving all the way here just for it to not work. Luckily, snacks were affordable and I was able to get a couple small things to take back home. We did have to download another IKEA Family card as they're not universal and you need one for each IKEA that you're visiting to get the discounts. Visited May 2026

I don't remember the name of the bakery, but one of the stalls sells a type of cake called "perunaleivos" (included in the pictures I uploaded) - it's one of the most amazing pastries I've ever tried and I highly recommend it. The chocolate shop is also spectacular. They have unique flavors of truffles like rose white chocolate. Buy an assortment of flavors so you can try as many as you can!

If you are worried about a language barrier, most folks speak enough English to make a transaction with you/answer questions! And it doesn't hurt if you speak a little Finnish too :)
