The reasons: they ditched the cheap new furniture that used to consume half the building. And, they added a bunch of new vendors with interesting new stuff that's priced to sell and turnover. So every visit is like a new experience. We just bought a seven foot long media console that is gorgeous, weighs a half ton, and looks like it has seen some stuff. And my husband bought 84 comic books. And any place that has gorgeous furniture/decorative items for me and comic books for my husband is a winner in our book. Staff is friendly and accommodating. But you're really here for the always new, always unique selection. And in that, they excel.

Attention owner: I…read morehad a very upsetting experience at this store. When I attempted to purchase a jacket (approximately $40) using my husband's card, the younger female cashier with long hair spoke to me in a loud, confrontational manner. Rather than handling the situation discreetly, she repeatedly questioned whether I had permission to use the card and continued doing so in front of other customers. The older employee initially appeared willing to handle the situation professionally, but the younger cashier repeatedly interrupted and continued to embarrass me. The interaction became so humiliating that I was brought to tears and left the store without completing my purchase. To avoid any future misunderstanding, my husband even wrote and signed a letter giving me permission to use his card. While I understand that businesses have the right to establish payment policies, requiring a married couple to go to these lengths over a $40 purchase feels like an approach from another era. We are not living in the 1950s. Regardless of store policy, customers should be treated with dignity, respect, and professionalism. My concern is not simply the policy itself, but the employee's conduct. There was no reason for the situation to be handled in such a public, demeaning, or accusatory manner. If there was an issue with the payment method, it could have been explained politely and privately instead of repeatedly embarrassing me in front of other customers. I also attempted to contact the owner or manager to discuss my experience. I was told they are never available and cannot be reached, leaving me with no meaningful way to address this concern directly. I encourage the owner to review this incident and provide additional customer service training to staff. Policies can be enforced without humiliating customers, and every person deserves to be treated with courtesy, empathy, and respect. Also treating customers with suspicions does not create repeat customer retention. My family member purchased my jacket and a bunch of items the shady younger lady suggested that I didn't want. She's super shady and it sounds like their internal staff may be stealing credit card info from another customers complaint on this Yelp rating! Maybe it was a blessing in disguise that uneducated cashier did that.

My sister and I apologized and left. We didn't even walk through the door, barely opened it. When we checked the time, it was only five minutes until they opened. I used to work at a boutique and I have NEVER thought to talk to someone that way, especially when there's only five minutes to open....maybe keep the doors locked then? It's such a shame bc we actually like this store but we were so taken aback by the woman's rude reaction, that we've hesitated to go again. Not sure we ever will now.

The addition of Sarabande's shopping odyssey alongside a fantastic paper/stationary seller, jeweler, independent bookstore and salon makes this tiny business center an easy choice for shopping local during the holidays. What I found at Sarabande: +Serious kitchenware, pots and spices that would make me appear far more sophisticated than I'm allowed to claim. +Beauty products, for once, not centered strictly on the female crowd. Hey guys, want to coax that beard in soft scents? Need a few boy scout tools for those rugged spots, or maybe a solid martini manual? You'll likely find what you're looking for. + A completely unexpected selection of cutesy kids clothing, accessories and stuff that'll make that little bundle of drool absolutely adorable. + Home furnishings and urban supplies that would look great in my living room if, again, I could claim any modicum of sophistication. I can't, so I tend to imagine myself living the dream and, well, then I usually grab a bowl of Flying Star mac 'n cheese and grovel in self-pity.

Immediately after asking if this store has cocopotamus chocolate in stock, this rude lady said, "what?! Talk slower!". After telling me the flavors, this employee was eager to hang up on me, and I proceeded to ask, "when will you get more in stock". I'm not sure how accurate this answer is, but I was just told, "I don't know, maybe not for weeks". Just from this interaction, I will NOT visit or support this store. This employee was definitely not the owner, but I'm sure this is the same rude lady from Tammy's review. If you call or visit, be warned that there is a chance that you will interact with this lady and be treated like trash. Very nice.
