Received a letter about earthquake insurance and retrofitting recently, so I decided to find a foundation and retrofit expert to evaluate our split-level home built in the 1960s. I had noticed some settling happening in one corner of the house near the windows and was concerned that there might be an issue. One detail to share that I think illustrates something about Ryan. For context, we are a no shoes in the house family. Over the last 5 years, we've had a decent number of contractors come do work in the house. The no-shoes thing is always something I end up either discussing or (more often than not) temporarily ignoring when people come into the house to work. In this case, Ryan had already noticed the row of shoes by the door and my unshod feet and removed his shoes without a word about it before entering our house. Our shop building is on a slope, and was apparently built on poorly compacted fill. One side was 7" lower than the other,, with numerous cracks in the floor. The crew from Foundation Solutions showed up on time, got right to work, and jacked the footings up within an inch of level! They pumped foam under the floor in a coordinated fashion, raising it so that no sections of the floor were lost. They filled the cracks with epoxy and ground it smooth to mitigate trip hazards. They back-filled all the jack holes, leaving the site in good order. The whole process took less than a week. The crew was very respectful of our property and our time. A pest inspection had been performed on a house we were purchasing and we chose to take care of the issues after closing on the property. The termite company that performed the pest inspection reported they found termite damage in the foundation posts and subfloor and the cost to repair would be $6000. Rather than have them do it, I called Foundation Solutions and Ryan came out to inspect my foundation. He concluded the foundation posts were fine and that the termite company had mis-diagnosed the issue, which was actually water damage in the sub-floor alone. Now when I get my floors replaced I can have the subfloor addresses at the same time with no additional charge! A real life saver. read more

I must say these folks did a stellar job on our home in Paso. I was more than impressed to say the least. Not only did we watch the interior house cracks disappearing (as their jacks went to work), but the cleanup they did was beyond our expectations - they even washed our windows!! We obtained several bids to do the project. We accepted their bid - finding it to be quite reasonable. Aside from the agony of experiencing problems with the foundation (expanding and contracting clay soil), we have zero complaints and zero concerns over work quality. The workers were extremely sensitive to keeping any work-related mess top areas outside the house. Even on the outside, their techniques were such that the condition of the outside area of the house was returned to virtually that before they began. There had been foundation work done by the previous owners of our house, and they never got a permit from the county, so when we went to sell the property we lost buyers because there was no permit. It was a devastating and frustrating situation, but Scott stepped up and offered to help. He put a rush on every step and got all of the engineering and soil inspections done within days, and scheduled the uncovering of the previous repair the very next week! His crew was also great, especially Jonathan and Nathan. From the time he started until we got the permit, it took just over a week! He was in constant contact with me every step of the way.
