I was gifted these tickets (not by Yelp) for work I do on social media but had such an incredible time I wanted to come and write a detailed review here because I had such an incredible time! This was my first experience with Founding Footsteps and I will definitely be doing other tours! This was their "Bad Things Happen in Philly" BYOB True Crime Trolley Tour! Tim the owner was our guide and he did a phenomenal job sharing true crime stories across the city, the tour took us all over and by many of the most loved sites in Philly, like the art museum, city hall, eastern state pen... the facts and stories he shared were fascinating and mixed with just the right amount of levity provided in the form of dad jokes. They had a musician on board as well (Remy Gold) who was playing songs that accompanied the tour perfectly, and the driver Nate gave us a fabulous and smooth ride all around the city! The trolley was also decked out in spooky decor which just added to the fun!so different compared to other local Halloween activities. Loved everything about this experience and cannot wait to check out some of their other experiences! Whether you are local or visiting Founding Footsteps is a must do activity!

Founding Footsteps BYOB Philly True Crime Trolley Tour was so much fun! Tim was absolutely hysterical and very engaging. I appreciated that he made sure to help us get organized seating wise rather than a free-for-all. We had a great group on our trolley and really enjoyed the stops we made. Special shoutout for the pit stop/ bathroom break halfway - where we could even grab snacks and more drinks if needed! Will absolutely do another trolley and highly recommend!

A pit stop at the whispering bench with a great view

My husband and I just did the Philly Crime tour and had a blast! The trolly was decked out in decorations and we loved being able to have BYOB. I was not expecting to be greeted by a singer/guitarist and it was such a vibe! Our tour guide was hilarious and the perfect level of adult humor. I'm looking forward to getting tickets to the holiday light tour!! Thanks for the great time!

We did the Historically Hilarious BYOB Tour of Philadelphia yesterday. We had a ton of fun, and this is definitely something for locals and visitors to both enjoyWarren had us dying

You need cup holders. Otherwise it was great FUN. Jeremy kept the spirit going n drumming up the crowd to make up our own lyrics.

I took this trip with my son and several other friends from California. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. Tim makes history come to life his educational background really helps tell the story but his fun sense of humor also brings in the laughs. If you'd like a little taste of the tour look at the YouTube I made below. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Philadelphia. https://youtu.be/Lr_iCKYD5Kw

Did the walking tour with Greg ! It was awesome ! Learned so much and got a good idea of where to do more in depth visits :) helped us get a lay of the land and was funny funny funny as well - corny dad jokes and puns are my favorite !

My friends and I took a trip to Philadelphia and were on the look out for a tour. We ended up doing the BYOB tour and it was an amazing experience. Our tour guide was hilarious and full of really interesting information both on the history and current goings on in the city. We got a chance to stop at some locations and others we drove by to view. Would 100% do again and recommend to others.

Right across from the Philadelphia City Hall, the Masonic Temple serves as the headquarters of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania. It's a huge building and - wow - is it maximalist! Our tour was a little over an hour, and I recommend booking ahead (a group walked in just in front of us and hoped to buy tickets for the tour about to start, only to learn that it was sold out). Our tour guide was knowledgable (but told us when she didn't know the answer to a question because the Masons are secretive and keep a lot of facts about what occurs in the Lodge to themselves). The architecture is really stunning and there's so much to see: incredible plasterwork, grand staircases, murals, and more! Photography without flash is allowed throughout the tour, and I took about a million photographs. The Temple has a fascinating history, and the architecture and decor made my jaw drop a few times. Definitely worth visiting if you live in or are visiting Philadelphia.

This tour with Toni made up for the anticlimactic one from the Independence Hall. She was very thoughtful and made sure we always stopped in the shade since it was a very hot day. Her stories were entertaining and engaging. I loved all the historical snippets she'd give us about the timeperiod of the founding fathers. We got so lucky because Benjamin Franklin's printing press was finally opened after a 10-year closure. Such a great addition to The Tour. We would not have had such an enjoyable and educational time walking around this part of this City without him leading the way. He shared with us that he is a retired University professor and Philadelphia native. He loves this city and it showed! We learned about the history of one of the oldest markets in the US (over 100 years old) and sampled some items along the way. We also saw street art and learned more about the history of the City, William Penn's plan for a "utopian" type society and the legendary "curse of William Penn." The Penn statue on top of City Hall used to be the highest point in Philadelphia until the 1980's when the mayor alllowed skyscrapers in. The legend goes that after that, all the Philly sports teams had a losing streak until a worker on one of the new tallest buildings added a mini statue of Penn to the top, then the teams started to win again. On our tour, we sampled... Sesame seed sprinkled fresh bread (with no preservatives) Italian cookie drizzled with chocolate. Aged Balsamic Vinegar, Fig Vinegar and Coconut flavored White Balsalmic Vinegar Special cheese (can't remember the name) coupled with spiced cashews Fresh (made today) Tortilla chips and fresh tomato salsa from a shop where the owners are from Central Mexico Mandarin orange from the produce stand Plus we got 10% off when we purchased additional items at the vendors we passed for being on the tour.

This is where it all happened. Bear in mind, my review is written based upon our visit to Philadelphia and our having taken this tour package on September 1, 2018. The meal at City Tavern was very good. We were seated at tables downstairs, and the room size was perfect for our group. The actors and actresses had ample room to carry on with their dialogue and fun while we ate. From the City Tavern we walked (via our "tour guide" John Dunlap) over to Independence Hall. It was just getting dark when we arrived and the place was absolutely beautiful. I am also posting photos, which include some taken outside of Independence Hall, before and after we were taken inside the building for a private tour, and a peek into a vital point in our nation's history... dare I say, the world's history(??). The package is well worth the cost, as it is filled with many different treats and available points of history being presented. I would especially recommend this for families, and it is equally applicable to couples, singles, young and old! Go and support these fine folk who do a magnificent job, putting on an outstanding display of a peek into our history.
