Fantastic tour with Toni. She is a wealth of information and made the tour fun. Also had great recommendations for things to see and do in Philly. Thank you Toni!

Jennifer was amazing! She was friendly, funny, and very passionate about her work as she is a native Philly resident. The tour will start promptly at the designated time so shoot her a notice if you're running late bc you're apparently put on a blacklist where you cannot participate in other Free Tours By Foot events. The tour the significant other and I participated in lasted closer to the 3 hr mark -- where it's usually 2 1/2 hrs long. It was well worth it bc you get this rich history and background info without having to read a plague or go dig on the Internet. There were many stops. It was around a dozen spots where Jennifer will tell you the history and significance of the landmark (and all by memory too). Her enthusiasm is what made the tour special. The price is whatever you're willing to pay; no set price. There will be two or so bathroom breaks so don't fret about that.

Our tour guide Rich (look for the guy in orange shirt)was extremely knowledgeable as he took us around & pointed out murals, historic houses, areas & places. The Independence hall tour that Free Tours by Foot does not include a tour of the inside of the famous Independence hall. You will have to go to the Independence hall visitor center in the morning to request the Free timed tickets in order to visit the Independence Hall. Or you can go online to request tickets but there's a processing fee. This 2.5 hour long tour was very informative & gave us a nice overview of the historical points of this area. If you had any extra questions of places to visit, the tour guide would be happy to help you out. I will definitely try out the other tours which Free tours by Foot offers in other cities. TIp: You can book their tours online on their website / thru the yelp app. Pro tip: bring: comfy walking shoes, water, hat, sunscreen & a good attitude.

We did a tour in Philadelphia and our tour guide, Toni, was fantastic. Knowledgeable, indefatigable and, above all else, very funny.

I felt we had been friends hanging out for years talking about each detail of the area, and I have never been anywhere near any of these streets before. We started at the local cheese and meat shop just up the block, where we had a few tasty treats. Personally, I could have spent the rest of the afternoon tasting the cheese and meats, but off we went to our next stop of balsamic and oil tastings. Off to an expresso spot and then to learn more about the neighborhood shops and stands. We took a short walk over to see some wonderful side streets where we were brought over for dessert and then a local favorite spot for some Grandma's pizza. Each spot we made it to was filled with life, and you can see in Jacquie's smile how she loved sharing the community with others. Next time we make it back to the area, we will look up to see what other tours she offers. Easy short walks and not hard for any age.

It offers…read moreits signature tour - Beyond the Italian Market - every weekend, and it offers other tours on occasion. We took the Beyond the Italian Market tour this past Saturday and loved it. Over the course of 2-3 hours, we walked around South Philly with our very informative and friendly guide. We tasted bites at several different businesses in the neighborhood: donuts, bánh mì, tacos, horchata, whitefish salad, pastrami smoked salmon, mini ricotta cannoli, and a little wine! Along the way, we learned about each business and their histories. One of the businesses we visited has been open for well over 100 years, others opened in the last few years. All of them have great stories - about why the owners make the food they make, why they opened their restaurants - amazing success stories. Over the course of the tour, we also learned so much about South Philly - the history of immigration to the neighborhood, the story of businesses that helped newly arrived immigrants feel at home, acclimate, find work, or have a taste of home, information about how the neighborhood has changed over time. I learned a ton. Ate a ton (all delicious). I love food, but food often tastes even better when told with a story. And that's what Tiny Table is all about - food and its context and history. If you love food and/or history, I highly recommend taking the Beyond the Italian Market tour. I hope to go on another tour sometime soon!

Their number is some answering service that doesn't allow you to leave a voicemail. I emailed with my phone number and no response until AFTER the tour - got it 5 minutes ago. Then WHY did they sell me a tour on a holiday they clearly celebrate? If that's the case they could claim every time they don't show up it was National Ice Cream Day, it's Flag Day, it's Ramadan and they're not doing tours.
