I came here on St. Patrick's Day to see the fountain turn green. The weather was beautiful and they had live music going on. At noon they blow the horn and the fountain starts up. The water takes a bit to turn green, but it's so pretty once it does. There is lots of room for kids to play in the grass and also several playgrounds. There are several restaurants around and parking is relatively easy to find. Check out Art on the Avenue nearby on the weekends if you love shopping for arts and crafts. The town of Fountain Hills is named after its famous 560-foot fountain. The Fountain first went into operation in 1971 and goes off every one hour for 15 minutes between 9:00 am-9:00 pm. Fountain Park was built around the fountain and has several amenities. There is an amphitheater, splash pads, playgrounds, the surrounding lake, walking trails and restrooms. It is a nice place to relax and enjoy while in Fountain Hills. You can see the fountain all the way from the 87 as you are driving back from Payson.

Beautiful park. Nice walking path. So much to do. Nice splash parade, playground and musical areas for kids. The fountain was having maintenance done by the time we got there but we at least saw it from a distance. Impressive.

Drove from Mesa to see the fountain. It runs on the hour for 15 minutes. The walk around the lake is about a mile. Lots of birds, sculptures and benches to sit on. Worth the trip!

This is a well maintained park that has the third largest fountain in the United States. Be sure to watch for the fountain in action; it is quite spectacular. There is a walking/bicycle path that is curvy and flat. Free street parking.

Good path around the lake. A most wonderful fountain on the hour. A fun playground. A variety of birds to watch.

We've ventured out here to take the grandkids to the park and to visit my sister for the morning. The park is huge and I know it is the cornerstone of fountain Hills. We were lucky to be able to see the fountain go off twice! The kids playground is quite good although there is one particular Device that my granddaughter was attached to that I thought could be quite dangerous - grandpa was there to help make sure she didn't crack her head open on it. It's like a cantilever that you can 'ride' across but if you're the wrong height- it's going to hit you in the face. We loved the xylophone park. Way cool. I do wish there were more benches around the bigger play area. The park is gorgeous and huge and I imagine if we lived in the area, we'd be here all the time!

One of our favorite restaurants is nearby, so after breakfast we wanted to enjoy our mornings at the park. We entered through the southside where the splash pad and playgrounds were located. There was a lot of parking, a restroom, water stations, and even dog water bowls! My family walked around a little before settling down to enjoy the people watching and fountain. My little one and Havanese loved the space and I enjoyed how clean everything was! I was also impressed with the musical instrument playground! You don't see that often, and it really made the experience here enjoyable. I highly recommend if you haven't visited yet!

The is Fountain Park is a recreation area anchored to the town center. It features with an effluent lake and the world-famous fountain, which used to go off every one hour for fifteen minutes, but for my most recent visit it only lasted ten minutes. It seems the schedule could change from time to time.

If you're looking for an incredible spot to unwind and soak in some natural beauty, Fountain Hills Park is an absolute gem! Picture this: a serene lake surrounded by stunning landscapes, where you can take a leisurely stroll while admiring unique sculptures and captivating art installations scattered along the path. It's the perfect blend of nature and creativity that is sure to delight every visitor. As you meander around the lake, take a moment to breathe in the fresh air and appreciate how well-maintained the area is. You'll notice that the park is immaculate, free from litter and overflowing with vibrant greenery. It's a true testament to the care and effort put into keeping this space a paradise for everyone. For those craving a bit more adventure, the park also offers activities like disc golf, adding a thrilling twist to your day. Grab some friends or family, and enjoy a friendly competition while you bask in the beautiful surroundings! One of the highlights of Fountain Hills Park is undoubtedly the iconic fountain. However, a little tip: if you want to catch it in action, plan your visit on a calm day! The fountain is known to stay dormant when the wind picks up over 10 mph, so be sure to check the weather before you go. We made the rookie mistake of arriving on a breezy day, after waiting eagerly, we learned that the fountain was taking a break. Regardless of whether you see the fountain, this location is breathtaking and offers plenty of spots to relax and enjoy the scenery. With its combination of art, natural beauty, and recreational activities, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful day out. Don't forget your camera--this picturesque location deserves to be captured and shared! There are lots of street parking spots around the lake.

LOVE this park. Very spaced out. lots to do for all ages. Section for big kids. Section for small kids. "music" area. walking trail around the lake. Public bathrooms. The fountain goes off every hour! Covered seating area & plenty of benches. Disgolf trail around the lake. Definitely will be back. One thing that would make this elite would be some swings. They have none :(

I spent a weekend near Fountain Hills and had some time to spare between events so I decided to check out Fountain Park. Parking was convenient and plentiful. The park was bustling with people enjoying the warm February day. There are various play areas, a Veteran's Memorial, a musical park, and more to explore. The park was clean and well-maintained. I walked around and passed the lake on my way to a coffee shop. After getting my coffee, I noticed the fountain in action so I started walking towards it to get a better view. The fountain operates on the hour every hour from 9 am to 9 pm and reaches an impressive height of 330 feet. On special occasions, the fountain can reach 560 feet! It's quite fascinating to watch. Don't miss Fountain Park when in Fountain Hills!

We keep corn in the house to feed the ducks -no bread for these little guys. It's not good for them.

I've lived in Fountain Hills for 26 years but I have particularly enjoyed the parks since my great grandson lives nearby. There are three parks for children and the lake park is his favorite huge variety in playgrounds playground equipment splash park and of course who can we just feeding the ducks

I love living in Fountain Hills. It's a great community. Beautiful. Quiet. Use to live in Hawaii........ and even though nothing lives up to the island, fountain hills is pretty darn close. So blessed to live here. I loved it more when it was a secret lol. Events are always so packed now - but a great place to be and visit

We always enjoy going up to Fountain Hills. It is beautiful, when we go, we try to do it when it isn't too crowded. Great place to see.

The golf disc chains are located near residential housing, street car traffic and other park goers besides yourself (people walking their dogs, joggers, bicyclists). So you need to be careful on some disc throws not to hurt anything or anybody. Definitely know your game especially your limitations. Being a beginner in the sport. I found the course to be very fun. The large park is very beautiful and well maintained. One of the nicest parks I have ever been to. The locals are very friendly. We had a few people watch my friends and I play with some amusement and weren't afraid to say "hi". Definitely didn't run into any haters of disc golf. To sum it up. Nothing too difficult other than ensuring you don't end up in a few of the water hazards around. I lost (2) discs and watched at least 6 others lose theirs too. I do like the option to throw to the short distance or long distance baskets. The tee boxes do need some work here and there. I do appreciate they show where the locations of the baskets are and their distance. Had a great round, minus the two lost discs to the water monsters. Would throw here again!

We had a hard time finding the practice basket but it's directly to the right of the first tee pad (behind the playground/picnic area if you're looking from the parking lot). The course itself was set with the best of intentions, using the hill to challenge us in throwing upwards/downwards and maintenance buildings as obstacles. The desert shrubbery, while not too much trouble to throw over or around, was similar across the entire course. It didn't make for a super exciting round until we hiked halfway up the hill around basket 10. When I was there, every single basket was set out, some with cones/flags for visibility and others just camouflaged into the landscape. It made figuring out the course a little difficult and we ended up playing into other people's baskets on accident not realizing we were aiming for the wrong ones. While the pads and baskets are well maintained, the map at the park is a little worse for wear and difficult to follow. The tee pads each have their own maps too, pointing to the next basket which was helpful. Lots of walkers and dogs going through the course, but just keep yelling fore and have a little patience! I liked the big field to practice throwing distance drivers without losing them on the course. I didn't like the amount of trash and cans/bottles littered around the course. But we encountered friendly folks and clean bathrooms, and it's a perfectly average course in the area.
