Living around South Scottsdale, one of the most fun free activities around El Dorado Park to try is disc golf. Spinners is awesome! I am new to the Phoenix area and was impressed by their selection of discs (both new and used) and the organization of the store. Also extra props to them for providing their patrons with masks and gloves upon entry and limiting the store capacity due to the current pandemic. I've got a lot of respect for them for doing this especially considering that finding the right disc is a pretty handsy activity which makes it easy to pass germs along. Earlier the day I went here I was playing on the Fountain Hills course when someone asked me about discs. I explained to them that there are different brands of discs, that there are putters, midranges, fairway drivers, distance drivers, and that in each of these categories there are different discs that behave in different ways...in the end of the discussion I told them there were probably easily 100+ different molds of discs. They were shocked, and as I continued on through the course I thought maybe I had exaggerated the number. Then we came here. We don't have anything like this within an hour and a half drive of where I live, so when I make it to a place like this I treat myself. Doubly so if I'm on vacation like I was when I came here. 100+ molds is no exaggeration. The walls here are filled with every brand of disc maker, every mold as well. It's amazing. It's a disc golfer mecca. As we had just played at Fountain Hills for the first time I obviously needed to replace a disc that had gone in the fountain so I bought a new Christmas edition Star Leopard3. I also wanted a disc with a stamp from the course, which they had a ton of. I ended up with a dyemax sheriff stamp from the 2015 Memorial. My putting game has been a little off, so I decided on a special blend wizard that I've heard a lot of positive things about. My girlfriend also wanted me to buy the Legacy Christmas disc with the Grinch on it, so I bought one of those. I also bought a Dynamic Discs hat and an Innova shirt. I spent a little bit more than I was expecting, and I realized after we left that there was a Yelp check-in offer that was still valid, but overall I was thrilled with my purchases. The next day we played in San Diego and my new putter was insane. I hit all but one putt with it, with three of them being 20+ feet. What a great shop, I wish we had something like it near me in Utah. read more

Great little store! Bought myself and a friend a disc while I was visiting and playing the course behind the shop. It's one of the few stores near a course in the state, so I was told, and certainly worth stopping in. The disc selection was HUGE and they have a great used section if you want a good deal or a disc to go throw on the course and not care if you lose, because that does happen! If it does, it will most likely make it's way back into Spinners where you can pay $3 to get it back, great deal and a great resource for the disc golf community! Great for every level disc golfer. I gave them a broad description of my swing and what I was looking for and they were able to give me options that would work for me and in my price range. Both employees were more than willing to help and give me putting recommendations (using the basket in their shop). There is a great course right next store so you can use your new discs immediately. We rented bikes for a day. When we got there, they were very helpful. The bikes were very nice. The cost was reasonable and we received a discount from Yelp. We had a great 15 mile ride and returned about four and one half hours later. They said that it was close enough to four hours and only charged us for that. We had a great day with their bikes and we hope to go back there again for bike rental. read more

I like this place to rent bicycles - it is close to the greenbelt, many biking options to choose from, and for two hours and two bikes, it was only $30. Not bad! The bike I got was a 7 gear one and it worked well. It even fit my small, petite frame so I was definitely happy about that. The customer service was also good. Large selection of discs with all the major and even minor brands in stock. Lots of various models for each manufacturer, too. It's like the owner decided, well, if I wanted a certain disc from a certain manufacturer, what would I stock? Other disc golf related items as well are in stock to suck those dollar bills out of your wallet. The owner likes to talk. He's just very friendly and just loves his job. I love it when I encounter people who love their jobs. Just be aware that sometimes a quick 5 minute turn-around purchase is not going to be as short as 5 minutes. It may carry on for another 3 or 4 minutes because he just likes to talk about disc golf. I love it. This is an excellent disc golf shop. You *will* be able to find the disc you want there. And it is right there off of the Vista Del Camino Disc Golf Course. What more can you ask? Oh, so you asked! OK, well they have this great program that if you bring in a lost disc, you get $3 in store credit. When the rightful owner comes in to claim it, he pays $3 to get it back. That's cool. Also, they rent bikes, which is handy for that great bike path that runs through the park and beyond. They also sell used discs, which sometimes you can get a bargain gem. My oldest son is nuts about a sport that few have heard of. It's called disc golf, and it's contagious! He got me and his younger brother hooked too. Most sporting good stores have a small section dedicated to these half-sized frisbees. A few other stores have a slightly bigger selection. And then there's Spinners on the Green! This weekend, my oldest asked if I wanted to find a nearby course to play. But before we did, he wanted to check out a disc golf store he had heard of. Spinners is located at the back of a small shopping center at Miller and McDowell. It's a small store but it is chock full of an amazing assortment of discs. The amazing inventory is only half of the story. We talked with Ashley, whom I suspect may be the owner. He is an enthusiast and very helpful. It's apparent he knows and loves the sport. He talked with my son about all the technical nuances and asked questions as well. Ashley was also knowledgeable of upcoming tournaments and explained their rewards program and lost & found service. It's refreshing to know that there are small businesses with owners/ managers/employees like Ashley. Think about it! My son was the reason why we were in this store in the first place. I completely get why this place has all 4-5 stars. I really do. I just want to share my view of my story today. Walked in, looked around for a bit while the associates who were on duty were checking people in for a small tourney or whatnot. No problem right??! All good I thought since I understand I am a beginner who is learning the game a bit more every week. Fast forward to me searching in the store just looking around.....but not quite sure what I am looking for. I tell ya what.....I was in this store for about 20 minutes today..... and NOT ONCE was approached at all.....even tho any cognizant individual would have realized I am looking for something in general. But I didn't get a "Hey man, how can I help you today? Or ANYTHING!!?? That's what hit me the most. So I perceived this place as.....I guess if your not known in their "Disc Community", they won't help you! Now is this what I want to think of this cool store?? Absolutely not. But I just had to share this experiences to possibly open their views in hospitality. I'll be back for sure, but I hope I spread some valuable info for them going forward to those who are beginners to this sport. read more

Spinners is a must stop when playing Vista Del Camino. Either because you might want to pick up some new plastic or maybe (like me) you want to replace a lost disc in one of the water hazards that come into play on the course. Whatever the case may be, Spinners is a convenient place for us disc golfers who love the sport. It's located in the strip mall located near the tee pad for hole 12...just look for the flag banner with the Spinners logo. The store is quite small in size, but they pack a ton of products into the space they have. Everything from discs to apparel...baskets and bags...finding what you need shouldn't be a problem here. I enjoyed talking with Ashley about Arizona disc golfing and about the sport in general. I mentioned to him that a buddy of mine who used to live in Arizona, but now lives in So. Spinners is a world famous Disc Golf Shop. Owned by one of the Disc Golf Greats, Dan Ginnely. Spinners offers many collectors discs, and odd disc golf items that you would have a hard time finding online. Spinners also functions as the Pro Shop for the Vista Del Camino disc golf course. Pick up a scorecard, snack, and head out on the course. If you throw a disc in the water, (common at Vista) your disc is likely to be found, and returned to the pro shop by a local. Discs can be reclaimed at Spinners for a couple bucks. Or, just buy a used disc for the many water holes. Spinners has a great selection. If you're a beginner, schedule a lesson with Dan Ginnely. He is a fantastic teacher and player who offers reasonable prices, warm attitude, and great stories from years as a professional disc golfer. if you're a disc golfer and new to Phoenix, make Spinners your first disc golf stop . Have to admit, if there's another shop in town that sells discs, I don't know about it. Honestly, even if there was I would still go to Spinner's. You know you're dealing with other people who play and understand the game. The couple of times I've been there have been outrageously helpful and the guys there are true veterans of the sport. They've been helpful, respectful, and knowledgeable without being cocky or rude. I drive from across town just to get here, and it's been worth my trip just about every time. Only once have I gone and the young man working the counter didn't know anything about the game or product. Otherwise, these guys are the best! read more

I am more impressed with each visit. They have a fantastic selection of discs and accessories. They are really knowledgable folks and have a great lost and found service. It looks like they update their lost and found list daily. They also have s bunch of used discs, which is a great way to try out a new type of plastic or get an already-beaten-in disc or even just get something cheap to throw over water. I recently played in the Trilogy Challenge and the latest Ace Race. They put a ton of work into these events to make sure they go smoothly, and make sure everyone has a great time. You just cant duplicate how friendly and knowledgeable the staff is here. First off, the stock of discs in this place is amazing. Any company, any model disc or accessories you need are here. They also run a few of our local leagues and do a tremendous job at that. We went to spinners for bike rental. The bikes were a great price and the manager (I think, there was only one employee) was super friendly. It's right on the green belt so it makes it an easy ride. We bought the Yelp deal and rented two bikes for 2 hours. The toal price was 22$. They also give you a lock incase you want to stop. We rode down the greenbelt to Tempe and then along Tempe Town Lake (5miles there from the shop). They also have a huge selection of disc golf discs that are very inexpensive. Great experience I can't wait to rent a bike from them again! read more

Spinners is by far the best "home base" pro shop I've ever had. Back home it was play it again sports or academy sports neither of which had a great selection. The prices seem a bit high but are comparable with other vendors. The best thing about this pro shop is that it's right on the course! Hole 12.... Or hole 1 for locals. read more

This place is the best! It is a great little disc golf store with bike rentals as well! They have a HUGE selection of new discs, along with good sized section for used discs. I've seen the used discs go from $5-11 and most of the time you can find a "hidden gem" in there for a steal! What I like most about this place is their lost and found program. If you find a disc and bring it in, they give you $3 store credit. They then post that lost disc on their website, and the owner has 6-8 weeks to come get it for $3. I've only been playing in AZ for a few weeks, and I already took advantage of this "service". I gladly paid $3 to get one of my favorite drivers back after I put it in the drink at Vista Del Camino Park next door. I've been to quite a few disc golf stores but never seen any program like this! Amazing experience!! I called about 6 different places before renting a bike at spinners on the green. The location was perfect! There is an amazing bike path right next to the store. If you need a disc, this place has an incredible selection - new and used. The used are a great value. The new are on the pricy side, but you're supporting local business, so... that may make up for it - you decide. Three walls of the shop are filled floor to ceiling with discs, plus two standing displays! The two dudes working were friendly enough & gave us a map of the AZ disc golf courses (though it was unfortunately outdated/incorrect we discovered after driving to a couple). There's an 18 hole course right off the parking lot but it's not the best - very crowded with groups of frolfers, water hazards through the whole course (which can be cool; but definitely tough for beginners), and it's shared with joggers, dogs, kids... not a real safe place to play (for the pedestrians). The music in the shop was a little too loud for comfortable browsing... that's the only downside. read more

This is such a cool disc golf store, right next to the course at Vista del Camino. My wife and I went in "just to look around" after playing a round (just before going to the bar next door) and we were so pleased with the selection that we ended up buying 3 discs, a bunch of their excellent minis, etc.. This store also has a very high profile in sponsoring events and supporting the sport of disc golf. Another great thing they do is hold onto lost and found discs, which is important since many of the local courses have disc-eating water hazards...better yet, they even list the lost discs on their website!
