The staff are fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. Residences get their own room and some can choose to have a joint suite and share their bathroom or have their own ensuite. There are many fun activities that these elderly people get to enjoy, such as exercising, music therapy, movie time, Bible study, karaoke, and arts. Some of the residences are mobile and some aren't. For those who are mobile, there's a nice garden for one to go to enjoy the weather and take a small stroll. There is also a small tuck shop for any snacks that a resident may want to buy for him/herself or for their loved ones. My only criticism is the check-in process. You have to park your car, go in to register in order to get a visitor parking pass, then go back to your car to put the parking pass on your dash, and then you FINALLY get to visit your elderly. This process could take somewhere between 3-5 mins. I wish they would offer maybe a weekly or a monthly pass so I wouldn't have to go in and out because of my parking. As well, try coming during the day as parking towards the evening is a bit difficult since that is usually when people come and visit their elderly folks. Lastly, this is the place where residences stay until it is their time to go... but while they're still here, visit and spend as much time with them as you can!

We recommended this to Glynnwood, but there was no interest. Her departures were not detected by staff at the front desk. In the result, she had to suffer the trauma of another move.

There are also a lot of food and beverage options on the first floor. I did a quick walkabout and found eateries for any palette. Close to the elevator, I saw a bulletin board with postings of a lot of activities going on in the hospital for both patients and their families. SKH provides a great support system for all stakeholders, which is great as I'm sure it's not the best experience for anyone to be here. Lastly, I noticed how dynamic the staff here were. They were all very upbeat, energetic, and positive; characteristics that are essential when working with children and their families. From the day my Dad walked through the door he felt at home. He hadn't been well for a while and Buckingham Manor was close to home and family. They offered assisted living, meals and laundry services. I was there unannounced and often, sometimes more than once a day. I wanted to be sure my dad was happy and he was receiving the services provided. They would remind him to come for meals and if he didn't, the staff would go get him. He sat at a table for meals, with 3 other residents. he was able to chat and make friends immediately. Mr dad was a very social person, always on the go. The down town Stouffville location was perfect for him with shops and restaurants. The people there really cared. It was nice not having to worry if he was eating or taking his medication. Because I was subsidizing his stay, I appreciated the management keeping me advised of any extras. My dad was across the road for respite. those people extra billed me for services I couldn't afford, and I am not sure were ever delivered. even after I said no, they just kept adding extras. Buckingham included everything in the price, and in my opinion gave way better care, they just didn't have the fancy furniture. I can never say thank you enough times for everything they did for my dad, I will always appreciate they were like second family when he was there and were so kind to him.

When going for the test that are required it can be very scary but they always have a way of making sure you are reassured . My technician's name is Shani shamili and I have had her pretty much for every time I've been there which has been many times and she is absolutely amazing . I look forward to going to my appointments as she makes the experience so much more comforting and is a very calming soul . Is she is extremely knowledgeable about what she does gentle and quick but completely thorough . So I'd like to send the utmost thanks to Shani and the Staff of Canadian Vascular Laboratories for making my scary experiences way less scarier.
