The gym is definitely not worth the money! Many other gyms in the area have newer equipment and better facilities for the same price. It regularly takes months for things that should be obviously noticed and prioritized to be fixed by management. I reported multiple complaints to the seemingly uncaring staff about having no lights in the parking lot when it's dark in the morning and broken equipment, which they didn't bother to respond to or even put a sign on the broken equipment for weeks. I come at varying times in the morning, and there are cars parked on both sides of the street and the lot is full due to their class times. I mentioned this to Jane at the front desk, who didn't seem to care when she rudely told me, "Well, it's the busiest time of the morning. There are only two classes." And then went right back to folding her towels. I asked again about why they don't split up the class--as they hold the most popular class at the most popular time for working people regularly just going to the gym--and she rudely dismissed my concern again. Don't come here if you want new and working equipment, not to have to plan your workout around that of retired people, and a staff that cares about its facilities and guests. read more

I've been a member here since 2009. Me and my family have used the daycare (excellent care), tennis and locker room amenities. We have even tried some personal training. I can say that this club has changed dramatically since the day I joined (for the better!) New equipment, remodels, new bathrooms, more fitness options, more tennis options, etc. Overall I've had a great experience at this club, thanks to the staff me and my family have always felt extremely welcome and taken care of. I was extremely excited to have a gym this close, with the number of classes, and with child care. I am also extremely cautious of who I leave my daughter with. I waited two weeks to be able to take her with my husband and go early, but when I called for the names of the employees that would be in the Kids Club, because they're not listed on the website with the other employee information. I was met with a lot of resistance, and was not given this information. I became very upset with this. It was stated that the manager's kids have gone there and are fine, I don't 'know him or his children so this is not credible to me. He also stated that he's never been asked this. So this is supposed to be comforting to a parent? More important than having never been asked, is why are you not giving this information out? The club has all of our information, and our daughters name and birthday, along with address, and phone numbers, but we are not allowed to have the people that run the kids club names?? I am not accusing them of a single thing, I wanted to feel comfortable with who I was leaving my daughter with, as I had planned to be there a lot to hit some fitness goals. When I make two phone calls and am met with confusion and resistance on why I want this information it is worrisome. Trainers information is listed on the website, first and last name, so I am able to know who I would be in training or classes with, but not who my daughter will be with. This does not make sense. I was able to drop our membership within a few seconds, no problems or questions, Andy was very accommodating when it came to dropping the membership and charging us 100$, but not in making us feel comfortable with who our daughter would be with. Very unreasonable in today's world. My husband just spoke with the Y and they do not have a problem giving this information over the phone to their members, and were very compassionate and understanding. He did not even mention our experience here trying to get this information. I will gladly pay more to feel comfortable with who my child is with. (Update: we actually pay $50+ less at the Y due to them having a current veterans discount.) The Y also ha a pool. Many more classes and opportunities with that available. The Flac was such a disappointment for us, in an area that is so incredibly important to us. Flac needs to change their "policy" of not giving this information over the phone to parents. We all have different stories, and why were may or may not be comfortable with who our children will be with. My brother in law is a sheriffs deputy, my husband is a firefighter/paramedic, they've seen some things. There are no privacy rights when it comes to employees in child care. The way they handled our concerns, with no professionalism transparency is the reason we will never recommend them to anyone, and will never have a good thing to say about them. We do not leave our child with just anyone. The local Y is posting names of chi care workers on their website and has no problem giving the names of those working when a paying member/parent calls to ask who will be caring for their child while they utilize the facility. They can have this info Before they make the drive in. This makes all the sense in the world. The Y cares about it's members. read more
