I had my car, an '02 Camaro, towed to Dunlap-Johnson on February 28th; I was reasonably sure that…read morethe fuel pump was dead. I told this to the (new) service manager, Mat Johnson when I got to the dealership. Matt called back a couple of days later, told me the fuel pump was dead, and I authorized a replacement for ~$1400 and asked for an oil change as well. It was an extensive repair: the fuel tank needed to be removed and the exhaust system had to be dropped to allow that to happen. On March 11th, I received a call from Matt at roughly 12:10pm telling me that I could pick up the car. I called him back and explained that I wanted to go ahead and resolve an existent coolant leak. Both repairs were "completed" on March 13th. The issues began when I went to pick up my car, with the assurance that the fuel pump and coolant leak had been resolved. Total cost was $1755.29. When I started my car, I immediately noticed a loud metal rattling sound. Matt and the technician who had worked on the car came out to look at it. The technician looked under the car and stated that he had forgotten to put a bolt back in. He put the bolt back in - which didn't solve the rattle - and then determined that he had damaged a clip that held the exhaust lines. It would probably need to be replaced. He tightened a bolt and temporarily fixed the rattle. He then apologized to me and said that he didn't hear the rattle during the test drive because he had his earbuds in. I was allowed to take the car home, and was told to call/bring it back in if the rattling started up again. It started rattling again on the way home, and Matt told me they could get it in on March 19th. Over the next few days, I started to notice the issues with the service. I pulled the oil dipstick and discovered that the oil had been overfilled; also, the work order showed that the technician had used 5W/30 oil instead of the 10W/30 the engine calls for. I was confused, because the car's oil cap literally says 10W/30 on it. The radiator was low on coolant and the overflow tank was empty. There was a used shop towel in my passenger seat, the cap for the valve on the fuel rail had been left off (I found it on my windshield), and my oil pressure was reading 20 PSI higher than it had been. I called Matt on March 18th at 10:54am, and told him of the issues with the service. I wrote down a list of what I had found (see picture), gave it to Matt, and dropped off my car again. I showed Matt the issues with the car, including the massive oil pressure spike; he blamed it on an aftermarket oil pressure sensor that I hadn't seen before. March 19th, I received a call from Matt telling me that the low coolant was caused by a 2nd leak. They didn't pressure test the system after resolving the 1st leak. The second leak was found on the intake manifold; I asked Matt how difficult that would be to fix, and he said, roughly, "I don't really want to get into something like that on a car this age, because something is going to break in the process." Matt also revealed that the technician had installed the mystery oil pressure sensor himself because he broke the original part while working on the car and had not recorded the incident on the work order. From there, Matt proceeded to belittle me and act in an extremely unprofessional and condescending manner. He waved the dirty shop towel that was left in my car in front of my face, pointing out that it wasn't actually all that dirty. I reminded him that the towel itself was a minor issue and was simply another example of the carelessness the department had displayed. He then picked up my note, waved it around, and said, sarcastically, "Well I just want to make sure we talk about it, because it was #9 on your list." Matt continued to be unprofessional, and pointed out that he had made the original tech work on my car from 8am-12pm to fix the issues. Everything was presented to me as though I was being done a favor; even though every service after the first was just fixing mistakes made by the service department.

This is the first review I've ever posted on yelp, but people need to…read moreknow the brief experience I had dealing with them before they have to go through the same mess. I called on a Tuesday morning because I was searching for a mobile truck repair service in the area. And they were only 8 miles down the road from the job site we were working at. Told him we were in desperate need of getting an on-site dump truck a complete service and possibly all new brakes and the truck was not currently road legal so I needed on-site repair. He told me definitely not a problem he would get with his service manager and get right back with me. Never heard anything the rest of the day. I called again Wednesday morning and spoke with the same guy, he apologized and said he was still waiting to get with his service manager and he promised to call me right back once again. Never heard back again all day Wednesday. So Thursday morning I started looking up different companies in the area and thought I was calling one when all of a sudden I realized I had called back the same place for the third day in a row. I told that same guy that I accidentally called him, that I was meaning to call someplace else and I didn't mean to call them again, because obviously they were not interested in coming out and doing the work. Once again he apologized and said he could definitely be out either Friday or Saturday morning that they were just really busy. Normally I wouldn't be so desperate as to take this guys word after the last few days. But I could not find another mobile truck service that was that close on that short of a notice. I told him I would bring the guys in on Saturday morning and we would get the dump truck ready if he was for sure going to be there. Not sure why after all of this I believed a word he had to say. But he assured me he had all the parts and everything needed to fix the truck also that morning I had realized another truck of ourshad come up needing a new axle seal, so I mentioned that as well and he said they could come out Saturday morning and fix all of them and said they could be there by 7 AM. He had done work on this job site before and we both knew that I would have to escort him through security at the gate to be able to get into the site. I brought my crew in Saturday morning and started getting the trucks set up so he would have easy access to them to repair. By 10 AM I still had not heard anything from him. So I called and he answered and said they had a emergency call that morning but they were ready to head out the door to come work on our trucks. Long story longer, we never seen or heard from him all day Saturday. Who does business like this? I literally will not ever recommend them or call them for anything ever again. To top it all off, I had plans on Saturday night and was up late, but got woke up to this same guy at 7 AM on a Sunday morning literally blowing my cell phone off the hook calling repeatedly! Wanting to come out and work on the trucks. Are you kidding me!?

I told him I would come by and look at it which I did. Then I shook his hand and said I'm going to get it but it was after 1800hrs the credit union was closed. We agreed on a price, the next day I got off work and went to the bank did the paperwork and picked up the check the next day. The same day I pick up the check I'm in close communication with him and the sales woman! I call back one more time for a follow up she. Tell me someone is currently test driving the truck I told them I was going to get and the truck I have a check for. I called Julian to get an update he tell me the truck SOLD!! I expressed how unprofessional that was and the deal was locked in on my end. I took a hard inquiry on my credit due to thinking I would get this truck. Watch out for this place they say one thing and some else come along that doesn't ...... they will sale to them. They post the message after you leave a review and still don't fix the initial problem.

Well, turns out that's not exactly correct. I was told inaccurate information. And now the warranty is no longer valid not only because I don't have records of changing the air filter. Even though it's never been recommended to be cleaned by Burns Ford of Lancaster or of york. I was under the impression by speaking with the service writer that my warranty even though came from Burns of Lancaster was still under the same umbrella as Burns of York. Turns out that's not correct. I believe what it was they were just looking to get extended business. Because I was never informed until now when I do need the warranty that I'm not covered. Because well it didn't transfer. Even though it's the same umbrella. Doesn't transfer. Not only that I've been going to Burns Lancaster Burns of York for quite some time for my oil changes. Last two times I've noticed before oil change first time half a quart this time 3/4 of a quart low. The truck has 83,000 miles on it. I looked a little further it's leaking from the VVT grommets on the valve cover gasket. Leaking an office to where I can smell it burn off the exhaust manifold. Leaking enough is to wear the air conditioning compressor has oil on it. Oh let me not forget last time I went I also had transmission fluid service done. To make sure I was up to date with all warranty issues or staying ahead of them. Well what they did they charged me for dropping the pan and changing the filter. Which was significantly higher in cost than it is for fluid replacement. I took about 10 minutes to clear it up.. so yeah I would think twice before going there.
