We got into the hotel late, so that might contribute to our less than stellar experience. On a positive note, we were welcomed by an awesome employee named Laura. She was kind and took care of our check in process. Other than that, the entire stay was subpar.
Arriving to the hotel, it is poorly signed where to park and how to check in. My friend ran in and confirmed that we would be using valet. They upgraded us to a corner room, which is cool. The mattress is second rate. I've had worse, but it was not very comfortable. In addition to that, the whole power switches and key card slot thing is comically bad. For some reason our AC didn't work. And the only way any light worked is if you switched on the lights over the bed. The main switch by the door did seemingly nothing.
In the morning they missed our wake up call. Which is very bad when you have a 6am flight across town. The shower uses the weird half glass door system that sprays water virtually everywhere. It is very difficult to share this double room with another human.
Overall, we were underwhelmed. I tried to talk to the front desk about the lack of a wake up call. She acted as if one had come through. But my roommate and I had set our own alarm (thank goodness). And no call came.
If you come to Melbourne this could be a cheap option, but don't expect much. read more
