The mattress and pillows are high quality as is the shower. If you want a bite or drink we found the hotel bar to be surprisingly reasonable price wise and the pizza we had was really good! Location wise - it's a bit away from the center but you can't go wrong as the free tram is steps away and gets you to 99% of what you want to do - FREE!! The Skybus is also less than a block away as well. If you need it, a giant ass mall is across the street. Plenty of cafes, bars, shops and restaurants within a few minutes walk. Nice staff, great location - would definitely recommend.

The kitchen was large and offered free breakfast on Sunday. This included pancakes, cereal, oatmeal, bread. Eggs or at least fruit would have been nice. Now the not so great: I stayed in a room of 4 females and the room itself was small and narrow. Someone had placed their large suitcase right by the door so there wasn't much room to get in. Also, on one of the empty beds, the sheets were in disarray so I did not feel comfortable with that. Of course I chose the other bed to sleep on. The rest of my stay, that one bed was never cleaned even though I mentioned it to front desk and cleaning person. It definitely made me feel uneasy. At least I did not stay in the room much... Really only to sleep. In addition, the communal bathrooms were pretty messy, but showers were not too bad. Front desk staff was friendly enough. I met some nice people and had some lovely conversations while on the rooftop. I might consider coming back to stay here, but would look into other options first.

Sweet treats aside, this hotels ticks all the boxes for me - handy central location, friendly and professional staff, sizeable rooms and heavenly pillows. The only negative for me was the lack of plugs bedside - where is one supposed to charge their phone? I only got back from Australia on Monday but I've already been singing the Aldelphi's praises to my friends. Hopefully I'll be back soon!

The hotel is also close to Swanston Street, one of the main streets in CBD. My room was a decent size, and upon arrival, it was nice seeing a personalised message written on the mirror wishing me a lovely stay at the Adelphi. The best part of staying there was that all the snacks and drinks in the mini bar were FREE throughout my entire stay. And these were quality snacks and drinks. I've never seen that before in my life. It was awesome sauce. I also liked the toiletries provided. I believe the name of the brand was Apelle, and they give you a coupon code (10% off, I think) if you want to order them online. Another cool thing they did was leave a macaron next to your bed in the evening. And they were delicious macarons! The things I didn't like were that the wifi wasn't that great (it was okay, but don't expect to be able to do any streaming or heavy duty stuff.) My bed was a little bit too soft; it didn't bother me personally but for those with back problems, it might. Also, you have to walk up a flight of stairs from the street level to get to the lobby, so if you have a heavy suitcase, you're going to have to work a bit. Other than that, great location, awesome decor, and I wouldn't mind staying there again.

There were 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living / kitchen area and a balcony. There are people who live on site too. So, your room key will only get you to the floor you are staying on. Also, has a 7-Eleven across the road which is super convenient and has a large range of snacks, meals and things you may have forgotten to pack. Southbank restaurants are only a few minutes walk away as well. The only down side was only having 30 minutes of free internet for the day. But overall, I love it!

I appreciated that they even offered different types of pillows, including memory foam. There were plugs for your devices on the nightstand and even a wireless charging pad and high speed WiFi. Completely modern features. Mezzanine area had breakfast in the morning, snacks throughout the day, and a free wine bar in the late afternoon. Breakfast featured great items like scrambled eggs, poached eggs with hollandaise, bacon, sausages, fruit, breads, pastries yogurt, specialty coffee machine and various teas. There's even a billiard table. Staff were so friendly and accommodating. The hotel is centrally located with shops, cafes, bodegas, and restaurants all within a short walk. We even walked from the bus station with our luggage. I would without a doubt stay here again.

Hotel: stairs to the main entrance (terrible if you have bags... NO bellhop or hotel staff to greet you when you walk in). Must walk thru a restaurant with your bags unless you are smart enough to guess there is a side entrance where your taxi can drop you off and even then (no bellhop or trolly) if you are traveling with family or with more than one luggage this is super tiresome...this hotel is centrally located, but there are many others that are also centrally located that are just as good as this one (I moved to a different hotel after one night at this one). Very outdated rooms in a very old building. Hotel rooms have no views (my room faced another building's wall). I booked directly with the hotel to get the "happy hour" perk but I don't think it's worth it if the trade off is staying at this hotel. My room: queens suite... the picture of the room exploited on the site and other sites are deceiving, they make it look like the living room and kitchenette is divided by a wall. Not true. In fact it's divided by a Big TV on an early 90s tv stand (ikea has better furniture than this place) and on the photos the bathroom is focused on the shower bc they don't want to show you that there's a big washer machine below the sink and your bathroom is pretty much a laundry room. The size of room is like a small cabin on a cruise ship and it's def decorated like an early 90s cruise ship cabin. Have you ever stayed at a travelodge where they put the "this seat has been sanitized" paper around the toilet lid? Well, this one def came with that. Only perk is: Molton brown products. Other perk: the service and staff was good Major con: Feng Shui super off, didn't know what kind of hotel this was (family, couple?) just didn't fit any brand... Also... is this place haunted? I swear as I was coming Down the elevator I heard a woman's scream but it sounded more paranormal. Maybe the place is super freaky and the hallways have The Shining feel that it just got to my head? If you are looking for something interesting to eat it is a ten minute walk to Collingwood where you'll find original and tasty places to eat. There was a double bed, two single beds, and a sofa bed. Plenty of room to move around. It was all clean, no bad smells or weird stains. It was hard to be quite during the night due to a squeaky bedroom door, so bring oil just in case. The staff was very friendly and unbelievably helpful. Hazel in reception was only too happy to tell you the best places to eat in and around the area, and as it was the Easter long weekend, even offered to call the restaurants to check that it was open. It kind of sucked that the wifi had to be paid for.

For the down sides, just work around the noise by taking some ear plugs with you and don't even bother trying to sleep in past 8.30am. As for the A/C, just open the rooms up so the main bedroom will also get some of the A/C or perhaps see reception and ask for a fan. No bells and whistles? just ensure you supply it yourself! like wifi broadband etc.

It is a budget hotel which means the services are basic but it is clean and secure. It is right next to a tram line. I go to Comic Con and Supanova and it is perfectly situated for these events. Great food options nearby and the Tram goes past the Victoria Markets. Because of knee issues I always ask for a ground flood and generally get one. Last trip I was also visiting family and they let me book in, and drop off bags at around 10am as we knew it was going to be a longish day so that when we got there at night we just had to pick up bags and keys then head off to bed. They are great beds. They have toiletries in dispensers which saves on waste and I love the smell of the moisturiser.

They put on special rates especially for this purpose and doing my 3 weeks the staff were really friendly. The location is fairly prime. It's right next to the pretty cool Errol Street, a 5 min walk to Victoria Markets, and only a 15 min walk into the CBD. I actually went on to work here as a night manager for a few months. They have 24 hour reception, free onsite parking, internet (kind of pricey once you've used it a lot) and now it looks like they've had Foxtel put into the rooms. It's fairly basic but with a prime location and some good deals (try going direct) I'm a fan. I had a pleasant 3 weeks here.
